This Slideshare is about Waterwoods, a 50 unit Apartment Complex in Whitefield,Bangalore which implemented the segregation of its wet waste first which constituted to over 50% reduction in their waste. The Solid Waste Management in a 50 Unit complex incurred them a capital cost of Rs 2500/apt and the efforts need to be put by house-keeping staff and gardening staff was just 15 mins/day.They took nearly 6 months to educate, monitor, improve and measure their residents on this fully Sustainable Solid waste management drive. 8. Pride, Education, Incentives

Right now we are working with pride.

We need to factor in more education to get greater
compliance.

Finally, to ensure compliance, I believe we need to
start charging people for garbage pick-up.

Each home is given 120 paper bags free per year

Additional bags will cost ` XYZ

This will create an incentive to compost and recycle
