  2. 2. Environmental ImpactThe floatables problem is where the two major environmental concerns of water pollution and solid waste disposal meet. S.A.C. degradable bags offer a solution at the source of the problem. Please do not flush sanitary pads, tampons, incontinence items or disposable diapers. They do not decompose and contribute to floatable debris.
  3. 3. Marine debris killsEvery year, thousands of marine mammals, sea turtles, seabirds, and other animals are sickened, injured, or killedbecause of trash in the ocean.Animals choke or become poisoned when they eat trash. This is a photo of a bird with a tampon applicator in it’smouth.
  4. 4. Beach Closings
  5. 5. Ecological consequences for our forests• There are approximately 125 million menstruating women in the U.S., many of whom dispose of used feminine hygiene products by wrapping them up in toilet paper.• Forests are being destroyed to make toilet paper, facial tissues, paper towels and other disposable paper products. We can help by reducing the amount of paper that is simply wasted. Millions of trees can be saved by using S.A.C. disposal bags instead of wrapping up feminine hygiene products in toilet paper or using it to cover items up in the trash.
  6. 6. S.A.C. works to reduce costly damage to sewer and septic systems• The tendency of women to flush tampons and napkins as a means of disposing of them is such a major problem that signs are posted in bathrooms of small offices to shopping malls to sports arenas from coast to coast. Those signs are posted because toilets have been clogged with these products, causing flooding and costing excessive amounts for emergency plumbing repairs ranging from $70 to $135 per hour in the United States, and possibly higher or weekends and holidays.
  7. 7. Think about it… THERE ARE SIGNS POSTED INBATHROOMS EVERYWHERE. IF THE CURRENT METHOD OF DISPOSALWAS ACTUALLY WORKING…. WHYWOULD THESE SIGNS BE POSTED?The following slides are samples ofsigns posted. They range from hand written to printed. None of these offer a solution.
  8. 8. Ok… but now what do we do withthem? No bin, no bag available?
  9. 9. Another problem… filthy bathroom conditions
  10. 10. Cost Savings• Reduces clean up time and associated costs.• Reduces paper waste.• Reduces plumbing emergencies & related costs• Reduces the need to purchase extra chemicals to clean and sanitize surfaces soiled with blood and bodily fluids.• Restroom closure can mean frustration and unsanitary conditions leading to loss of patrons or clients = loss of revenue.
  11. 11. A Sanitary Solution for Health- Threatening Bacteria & Viruses• Restroom stall waste bins are sources of contamination. Concerns about outbreaks of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus, Aureus (MRSA) infections, as well as the potential for such containers to carry other viruses such as HIV, Hepatitis and Herpes, make this an important health safety issue. Just as medical waste is carefully handled, public restrooms should be equipped to handle such waste without exposing others who use the bathrooms – or the janitorial staff that cleans them.• S.A.C. disposal bags correct the problem by providing a sanitary method to dispose of and contain the used personal care item.
  12. 12. The Solution - S.A.C. Bags and Dispensers• S.A.C. degradable, environmentally friendly bags and dispensers by Golden Group International, Ltd. for the discreet and sanitary disposal of all personal hygiene products.
