As on 31 December 2019, India's external debt stock totaled
US$563.9 billion, a quarter-over-quarter increase of 1.2%.

9. As on 31 December 2019, India had a total multilateral debt of
$60,224 million. The country's major creditors are the IDA, ADB,
and IBRD. The IFAD and a few other multilateral creditors hold
the remaining portion of the multilateral debt.
As on 31 December 2019, India had a total bilateral debt of
$26.332 Billion. About 79.7% of the total bilateral debt is owed to
Japan. Germany (10.9%), Russia (5.3%), France (3.3%), and the
United States (0.7%) are other major creditors of India.

18. International law, is the set of rules, norms, and
standards generally accepted in relations between nations.
It is also be known as public international law and law
of nations.
It establishes normative guidelines and a common
conceptual framework to guide states across a broad range
of domains, including war, diplomacy, trade, and human
rights.

19. International law allows for the practice of stable,
consistent, and organized international relations.
National law may become international law when treaties
permit national jurisdiction to supranational tribunals such
as the European Court of Human Rights or
the International Criminal Court.

20. International treaty law comprises obligations expressly
and voluntarily accepted by states between themselves
in treaties. The Vienna Convention on the Law of
Treaties defines a treaty as follows -
“Treaty” means an international agreement

or in two or more related instruments and whatever its
particular designation”

27. (India Vs. Pakistan) Territorial disputes over the Kashmir
region sparked two of the three major Indo-Pakistani wars in
1947 and 1965, and a limited war in 1999.
(India and China) India faces trade imbalance heavily in favor
of China. The two countries failed to resolve their
border dispute and Indian media outlets have repeatedly
reported Chinese military incursions into Indian territory.
(India Vs. Nepal) Nepal surrendered a part of its western
territory in 1816 after its forces were defeated by the British
East India company. The subsequent Sugauli treaty defined the
origin of the Kali river as Nepal's border point with India.

29. Negative sanctions – It can include embarrassment, shame, ridicule,
sarcasm, criticism, disapproval, social discrimination, and exclusion
as well as more formal sanctions such as penalties and fines.
Positive sanctions – It can include celebration, congratulation, praise,
social recognition, social promotion, and approval, as well as formal
sanctions such as awards, bonuses, prizes, and titles.
