Persuasive Animal Shelter
I met my best friend ten years ago. He has thick, brown, black, and white hair, brown eyes, and
white feet. He loves stuffed animals that squeak, riding on the golf cart, hunting for lizards and
squirrels, and eating any time of day. His name is Sam and he's ten years old. Oh, did I mention that
he's a dog? He does not know it though. When I was seven years old, my mom, brother, and I went
to the local animal shelter to look at the animals. We found two adorable puppies –– one was solid
white and the other was brown, black, and white –– and my brother and I begged to have the white
one. But, a couple days later, we came home from school and saw that sweet brown, black, and
white puppy lying on our dad's chest taking a nap. The white one had ... Show more content on

The most popular dog breeds like Pugs, German Shepherds, Yorkshire Terriers, Bulldogs, and
Boxers all have extremely highhealth risks. Pugs and other short nosed dogs often have breathing
problems. Pugs can also get diabetes, spinda bifida – because of the tightly curled tails, –– and
dislocation of joints. German Shepherd can have chronic pelvic pain, hip dysplasia, and at least
eight different heart problems. Yorkshire Terriers have a high risk of having a collapsed trachea,
seizures, diarrhea, and hepatitis. Bulldogs are known to develop brain and spine tumors and skin
infections. They also often have to be artificially inseminated and give birth by Cesarean section
because their heads are too big and their hips are too narrow to give birth. If humans have to
surgically produce and give birth to bulldog puppies, they should not be having puppies; there are
plenty of other breeds that do not have to go through so many traumas to give birth. Boxers also
have breathing problems, can develop several types of cancer, have respiratory problems, and eye
ulcers. If you buy a pure bred dog, you should also be ready to pay for very expensive veterinary

Of Mice And Men Symbolism Essay
1) Candy's actions explain that during difficult times, without the support of people on your side, the
power of others makes us do things we may not want to do. For instance, when Carlson suggests for
Candy to kill his old dog, he was not willing to do so, but he reluctantly agrees for Carlson to
execute the dog, as it is in favor of the majority in the bunkhouse. After his dog dies, Candy reveals
his true emotions and perceptions about the situation that he did not display that day by telling
George "I ought to of shot that dog myself, George. I shouldn't ought to of let no stranger shoot my
dog" (61). In addition, Steinbeck also describes Candy's speech as "softly" and "hopelessly" (47)
portraying his disappointment in the matter that nobody ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Summary Of Jack London's White Fang
What if you took a very deep look at severity in the wild and the heartlessness of mankind? That is
the story of White Fang. White Fang is an adventure fiction novel by Jack London, and it was
published in May 1906 by Macmillan Publishers. It is a very gruesome novel that tells the story
about wolves during the Klondike Gold Rush. Jack London went to the gold rush and experienced
the wild for himself, and he tells about it in this story along with a similar book The Call of the
Wild. This book is important because it shows how violent the animals in the wild are and how cruel
people can be.
Due to London's writing style, White Fang is told in both third person–limited and omniscient. He
shifts his focus early on the story with two characters Hank and Bill to the main character White
Fang later on; this helps the reader see from different points of view, even though Bill and Henry's
story doesn't last long. The story takes place in the Canada, in the Yukon Territory and Northwest
Territories, in the 1890's. The story takes place during the Klondike Gold Rush, relating to London's
experiences during the said gold rush. This gives a sense of isolation and fear as there are few
creatures out in the snowy environment, and the few animals that are in the area are predators. This
changes later as the main characters gets to civilization. There are many characters in the story; The
characters in the story include both dogs and humans. The main character is White Fang, a dog born

White Fang By Jack London
The book White Fang is written by author Jack London. White Fang takes place in the 1980's
Klondike gold rush. It tells the story of a wolf named White Fang, who is three–fourths wolf and
one–fourth dog, and was born in the wild, but was brought into a village at a young age. White Fang
is then brought to Fort Yukon by his current master Grey Beaver, and White Fang starts to fight the
new found dogs that come off the boat for fun. Beauty Smith, a man who is very mean and very
ugly, wants to buy White Fang from Grey Beaver because of White Fang's ferociousness. Grey
Beaver didn't want to sell White Fang, but Beauty Smith brought alcohol to the camp every time he
came, and gave it to Grey Beaver. Grey Beaver soon got addicted and spent all ... Show more

They hunt together while the she–wolf is looking for her cave that she usually has her puppies in.
When they find the cave, the she–wolf has five puppies. The point of view then switches over to
baby wolf White Fang, but at this time he isn't called that. White Fang looked just like his father,
and was very nosy. Soon another famine comes, and all of his brothers and sisters die, and his father
dies from being attacked by a lynx. The mother kills the lynx's kittens, and the lynx was going to kill
White Fang, but the she–wolf saved White Fang and killed the lynx. The next central setting is in an
Indian camp where Grey Beaver takes White Fang and the she–wolf, who is part dog, and was
named Kiche until she escaped. After they stayed at the camp for a while, Kiche, the she–wolf, is
taken away down the river; White Fang is forced to stay behind with Grey Beaver. Then the Indians
moved their camp, and White Fang thrived in the wilderness because he escaped, but he went back
to the Indian camp though. When it was around winter, Grey Beaver set off to Fort Yukon, another
important setting, and Grey Beaver made White fang leader of the sled pack, which made White
Fang the most hated dog. Here White Fang was still the main point of view, but Beauty Smith comes
to buy White Fang. Beauty Smith ends up with White Fang, and starts making the wolf fight dogs
because of his love of White Fang's ferociousness. Beauty Smith gets

Analysis Of The Painting 'Moving Day'
The painting "Moving day" from 1967 seems to be about a black family who is moving to another
country. When a person who is different moves to another place, with other people, it's harder to
become a part of the people who is already living there. That's because they don't know anybody at
all. In this painting the black kids have a cat, and the white kids have a dog. I think that is a detail
with a lot of meaning. The cat and the dog are different, and they sometimes don't like each other
because of that. Dogs and cats can be friends too, but sometimes the dog can be (avstøtende), and
not accept the cats for who they are. That is exactly the same as black and white people do to each
other.

The message the author tries to tell us is to save the wolves. The story makes a strong point, because
it shows all the conflicts white fang had to deal with. I think the author was effective in conveying
the theme because he says a lot of problems that happens to wolves, since they can kill someone
because they are in famine until they can be used as fighting machines to make money. I think the
author wrote this story in order to make us understand that life is not easy for these animals and they
need conscious people. The author must have known things like famine, the cycle of life and the
situation with fight of dogs in order to write this story. I could send the same message to readers, but
in a different way by making up a documentary and telling people to be against

Essay on To Dance With The White Dog
To Dance With The White Dog
When one is young in age, it is important for him or her to have a caretaker. It is important because
there are many things that one cannot do at a young age, such as feeding or dressing one's self. In
contrast, there are also many things that one cannot do at an old age, such as being the breadwinner
of a family or going to the bathroom on one's own. In both stages of life one is usually helpless and
dependent on others. This is why old age is usually considered one's second childhood. In the movie
To Dance with the White Dog, Sam Peek had a hard time adjusting to his second childhood. He did
not like the fact that he eventually would have to rely on his children Kate and Carrie to take care of
him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only person he ever relied on to help him out was Cora. Whenever Sam would have sharp pains
in his hip, Cora would be the one to fetch the medicine for him. Sam would make sure that Cora had
her medicine for her heart on her at all times and would remind her to take them. His daughter?s
would also try to talk to him like he was a five year old. They thought that he was unable to
comprehend everything they were saying. Another thing that little kids and old people have in
common is their vivid imaginations. Shortly after Cora died, Sam found a stray white dog hanging
out on his property. The white dog became his companion and went with him everywhere. The white
dog would not show herself to anyone but Sam and this annoyed Kate and Carrie. They believed
that the dog was a figment of their dad?s imagination and the only reason why he was seeing things
that did not exist was because he missed Cora, their mom. Kate and Carrie started to pretend to see
the white dog and it got on their dad?s nerves. Sam eventually decided to mess with his daughter?s
heads for kicks and giggles. So whenever they were around he would pretend white dog was around
to freak out them out.
Late one night, Sam was having trouble with his hip. He got up to get his medicine and fell to the
floor shortly after. The pain was so severe that he could not move at all. The white dog started to run

Is Animal Euthanasia Ethical
Is Animal Euthanasia Ethical? We've had her since before I was born.. She was my first dog. I still
remember when my grandpa and I would always take her on walks on the beach, and when we
would play fetch with my favorite frisbee at the park. My dog, Princess, and I had a very strong
bond. She was my best friend. As she grew older, she became very sick and developed some type of
cancer. It was a very painful experience for both her and I. The cancer would cause Princess to
suffer daily. She wasn't able to eat, sleep, or walk. As it got worse, my grandpa decided that it would
be best to put her down so she would no longer suffer. I remember the day perfectly.. It happened in
our backyard. It was depressing to see her leave, but I knew it was ... Show more content on

First off, I feel that the correct use of euthanasia is when an animal is in devastating pain, and when
the animal is uncomfortable. It can't eat it's usual meals, and when there is nothing to do to help this
animal live longer, it is kind to euthanize it. For example, when my dog was dying, she was in
excruciating pain, and could not eat. Our choices were either to let her die naturally, suffering for
possibly weeks or months of pain, or to assists her with a kind and painless death. In this case,
euthanasia was being correctly used. In the Newsela article, Washington Post speaks about how one
of the white rhino's from the San Diego Zoo was euthanized because of old age, and another that is
in the decision of being euthanized because of a harmful bacterial infection. (Washington Post,
Newsela Staff, xx) However, euthanasia can be used incorrectly, in a non–humane way. For
example, when people have perfectly healthy pets that are euthanized, that is an unethical use of
euthanasia. I had a German Shepherd at my aunt's house that was put down because the neighbors'
children would irritate him so much, that he snapped and attacked the kids. Because of this incident,
the neighbors parents would complain about the dog and since they complained so much, they had
the dog euthanized. This is a very incorrect use of

Patrick Slush Descriptive Writing
There is nothing more terribly beautiful than the snow stricken streets of New York City. Beneath a
greying evening sky, and between tall buildings of steel, are big flakes of swirling snow that drift
and lightly cover every street lamp, branch, shoulder and patch of pavement untouched by moving
feet. Patrick Sole, a man without a home, is slumped, in wet, grey slush, against a brick wall. He
does not twitch, he does not tremble. And if white begins to blanket his tattered coat, and if his
frostnipped fingers begin to numb; well, he does not stir. For how long he has sat there, he does not
know, for he looks and feels as white as a ghost.
With an icy puff of breath, Patrick blinks slowly and blankly observes the blur of faces before him.
As the evening sky blackens, the bustle of the street grows noisier and is lit vividly by street lamps,
lights, cars and electronic billboards. It is at that moment Patrick wonders: how can one be so lonely
in a city with over nineteen million souls?

down and filling his chest. It would appear so that if his heart were to collapse under the weight,
then an avalanche of his pain would fall and crush the entire city. But it won't, and it never will, for

is the smallest of the original spitz breeds and breeder who originally bred it wanted to have a good
hunting dog hence it is bred for hunting especially in Japans thick forests and mountain areas. The

the Akita Inu and the Hokkaido which are also Japanese dog breeds. The Shiba is generally smaller
compared to other dog breeds that originate from Japan and it has a different temperament.

Black Shiba Inu
This is a Shiba Inu that has a black coat. Rarely do you find an entirely black Shiba Inu, but rather
they are usually black and tan. Black Shiba Inu is more popular compared to the white Shiba Inu
due to the fact that for the black one, the Urajiro is visible and this is considered to be a mark of
beauty for the dog. Born black, the parts of the dog where the Urajiro is will continuously fade until
it is completely visible.
The Urajiro appears on the side of its jaws, under the jaw itself, on the neck and chest as well as the
stomach and the underside of the dog. It is also visible on the fore chest and goes down to the
shoulder joints. The different parts of the coat that have different colors usually have a high contrast
to each other making the black Shiba Inu look amazing and this is why most breeders will insist that
it is standard for a Shiba Inu to have the Urajiro present so as to be allowed to take part in a dog

Quotes From Jack London's Into The Wild
1. In this novel, one minor character is Manuel, a garden worker. He is one of Buck's master's
employees. He steals Buck and sells him qualifying him as unworthy to work because he stole from
his employer. He is addictive because of his gambling habits along with poor. Because he is addicted
to gambling and poor, he cannot pay for food for his family making him greedy.
3. a.) "These men wanted dogs, and the dogs they wanted were heavy dogs, with strong muscle by
which to toil, and furry coats to protect them from the frost" (London 1). This description
foreshadows Buck's future. Because he was half St. Bernard and half Sheepdog, weighing 140
pounds, I believe this quote explains him perfectly, given he was chosen.
b.) "The sled lurched ahead in what appeared a rapid succession of jerks, though it never really came
to a dead stop... half an inch... an inch... two inches... The jerks perceptibly diminished; as the sled
gained momentum, he caught them up till it was moving steadily along" (London 6). This passage
shows why Buck was sold, he is pulling a sled with a thousand pounds alone. His adaptability and
strength overpowers most dogs.
c.) "'Never such a dog as dat Buck,' he cried. 'No, never! Him worth one thousand dollair by Gar!'"
(London 4). Buck grew to be well respected whether he was in California, working as a sled ...

The antagonists of White Fang are Lip–Lip and the other sled dogs, who fought him all the time

Essay on Terry Kay’s To Dance With The White Dog
Questionable Existence in Terry Kay's To Dance With The White Dog
In Terry Kay's novel, To Dance With The White Dog, the main character Sam Peek befriends a snow
white dog. The dog, affectionately called White Dog by Sam, helps to save Sam's life many times.
She is spoken of throughout the book by Sam's children as well as by Sam in his journal entries. The
main question throughout the book asks if White Dog is in fact real or is she just an illusion? There
are strong facts all through the book that support White Dog's realistic nature.
Many facts throughout the duration of this book support the theory of White Dog's existence. At the
beginning of the book no one but Sam can see White Dog; however, as the book ... Show more

This makes a very straightforward clue that White Dog is in fact real.
Although many facts support White Dog's existence, there are some which make White Dog seem
magical. One of the strongest suggestions in the book that supports this is the fact that White Dog
does not bark and the neighborhood dogs do not bark in response to him. Sam even admits this
oddity to him self as he lies in the hospital after his near death experience. Neelie makes a point to
the family about ghost dog never barking, during her visit with Sam at the hospital. After her visit
Sam begins to think back on his experience with White Dog and realizes "I've never heard White
Dog bark" (Kay 89). Another fact that questions the realism of White Dog is how he escaped from
the house to get help for Sam. This fact is only mentioned by Sam, and is easily dismissed by the
chance that he accidentally left a door open. Towards the end of the book Sam tells his youngest son
James his thoughts about White Dog. He states to James "That was your mama" (Kay 177). This,
however, does not disprove that White Dog is real, it is merely his feelings.
In the book, To Dance With The White Dog, White Dog's existence is neither confirmed nor denied.
The author leaves it to the reader to come to his or her own conclusions about the realism of White
Dog. The book merely gives context clues and abstract ideas to the audience so that they can derive
an idea. The reader can

Monte And Oreo Research Paper
Monte and Oreo "Mans best friend" everybody's heard this quote, and everyone knows that its
referring
to a dog. In this case we're referring to Monte. Don't forget though Monte brought
along friend. Montes friend is a hamster named Oreo. I have opinions about both
animals personally and both animals species. Even though Monte and Oreo are
different animals they have a lot in common. As much as they have in common they
still have differences.
Dogs and hamsters share similar characteristics; Monte and Oreo follow this same
logic. I really liked your dog and hamster. Both being black and white and males was
interesting because they both showed these characteristics even though being
different species. Both of these pets were cute and sociable. These two ... Show more content on

Monte was three colors being brown, black, and white, while Oreo was
just black and white. Oreo is very small and he is t really good for anything besides
being a pet. Monte is a good dog and could be used for work such as herding livestock
or guarding the house. Monte is superior to Oreo because Monte is a dog. Oreo is just
a hamster and dogs are better than hamsters. The difference between Monte and Oreo
is that Monte is very very energetic. Monte is a good dog and wants to be with
everyone, Oreo just wants to be on his own. Oreo doesn't want anything to do with
anybody. Oreo had very small ears. Monte had ears that almost didn't look like that

Montes head was the head of a boxer and the body of a collie. Monte was almost

Morning In Nagrebca By Manuel Arguilca Analysis
Morning in Nagrebcan: Close Reading Manuel E. Arguilla's "Morning in Nagrebcan" tells a story of
a family with a dog and its young puppies living in Katanyaghan Hills. The family is comprised of
Tang Ciaco (father), Nana Elang (mother) and the two sons, Ambo and Baldo. It is dawn in
Nagrebcan, Nana Elang consistently doing her obligation as a housewife while Ambo and Baldo
were in a fierce fight and the root cause was the foolish act of Ambo eating the whole banana
without peeling the skin of it. Baldo insist Ambo not to eat the banana with peelings and eventually,

The black and white spot of the innocent puppy depicts the dawn– whereas the darkness of the night
intervene with the brightness of the morning. In paragraph 1, the color of the whole environment is
grey. The combination of the black and white spot of the puupy is grey. The tension between the
night and morning depicts the life. Life is often compared to the stages of the day– dawn (infant),
morning (adulthood), noon (man), dusk (near–death) and night (death). It is a contradiction that the
puppy died in the dawn and not in the dusk or evening. It suugest that life is unfair, we could die in
unexpected way like what happen to the puppy, existed from dawn to morning and eventually when
sunrise came the puppy dies. The black and white spots also symbolize the yin–yang principle. Two
halves that together complete wholeness. Yin and yang are also the starting point for change. When
something is whole, by definition it is unchanging and complete. So when you split something into
two halves – yin / yang, it upsets the equilibrium of wholeness. This starts both halves chasing after
each other as they seek a new balance with each other. The word Yin comes out to mean "shady side"
and Yang "sunny side".Yin Yang is the concept of duality forming a whole. We encounter examples
of Yin and Yang every day. As examples: night (Yin) and day (Yang), female (Yin) and male (Yang).

Comparing Charlotte's Web And E. B Whites Dog Training
Within both Charlotte's Web and in E.B Whites Dog Training, they both contain animals and the
way that they are represented tend to be realistic within both stories. For example within Charlottes
web the character charlotte is accurately represented within the story. The character Charlotte is a
spider that lives within the barn that Wilber lives in. A line within chapter 5 that is accurate
representation of a spider would actually do in real life. As She dropped, a tiny silken thread
unwound from her rear end. "Next, I wrap him up." She grabbed the fly, threw a few jets of silk
around it, and rolled it over and over, wrapping it so that it couldn't move. Wilber watched in horror.

Dog Walker Observation
Given a task to observe someone and get in tune with his or her movements was not a small task.
The motion and activity of a student who owns a dog is very simple but each action has its own
meaning and surprisingly each action is different from each owner. The person I chose to observe
was this male that looked 20 years old and he was walking a medium dog that was black with a
white spot on his tail, an orange/brown shade on the chest, and a white spot on top of the head. For
convenience we will name him Doug Black. This was the fifth dog walker I observed and honestly it
was the last. I did not know what I wanted out of the dog walker/owner but I knew that I could not

Symbolism In A Dark Brown Dog By Stephen Crane
What would society be like if we saw the world through a dog's eyes? A black and white world, with
no judging based on one's pigmentation. A world where interactions between human beings were
genuine and meaningful. A place where one's skin color does not determine "goodness" or "badness"
or make one better than, or worse than. A dog cannot simply distinguish the difference between a
good human being and a bad one based on color, for which they only pay attention to how they are
treated and the kindness shown from that individual. If dogs could figure this out, why can't we? A
short story written by Stephen Crane in 1893 portrays this mindset of society shortly after slavery
was abolished in the United States. "A Dark–Brown Dog" is a ... Show more content on

The dog represented African Americans' ongoing mistreatment, with the promise from the
Reconstruction Amendments for a better life. By doing so, he tries to become friends with the boy,
ends up going home with him and then bad things happen. "The dog would display strategic ability
of a high order, dodging, feinting and scuttling about among the furniture. He could force three or
four people armed with brooms, sticks, and handfuls of coal, to use all their ingenuity to get in a
blow. And even when they did, it was seldom that they could do him a serious injury or leave an
imprint." The themes of subjugation and submission are portrayed in which the stray dogs are like
recently freed slaves. They both don't know the value of their freedom nor do they acknowledge that
they are supposed to be treated well, whether they are animals or human beings. They tolerate
cruelty while seeking affection and they have hope that conditions will improve.
The little boy who is the dynamic character in the story represents the new generation of southerners
who are attempting to treat African Americans as equals since they were no longer slaves. Although
they had good intentions to attempt to protect African Americans, they haven't developed enough to
the point where they could offer a safe and nurturing environment. However, as Crane insinuates his
story, the little boy

AAnalysis of Jack London Novels
A literary Analysis of Jack London three most recognized works, Sea Wolf; The Call of the Wild;
and White Fang.
Jack London lived a full life, even though he died at the young age of forty. In his life time he
experienced many things, and I believe that these experiences were the catalyst of his novels. Jack
London was an oyster pirate, a government patrolman in San Francisco Bay, a sailor and an agrarian
reformer, a seal hunter in the North Pacific and a gold prospector in the frozen Klondike, a war
correspondent and a prizefighting reporter, a socialist soapbox orator who later became a lecturer at
universities, a family man and landowner, and of course a true American writer. A critic by the name
of Alfred Kazin once said ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following the success of The Call of the Wild, London decided to write a complementary work–the
story of a dog taken out of the wild to become part of civilization.
Thus, White Fang was created. White Fang is about wolf who's mother goes into a tribe of Indians
because food is scarce. The cub ( White Fang) is taken in by a tribe but at the same time rejected by
his mother. This is the first step in his hard upbringing. He is not friend to all of the other Indian
dogs and even the Indians. He leaves camp with his master. He is sold to a new owner. This new
owner is mean to the dog and does not let him live a desired life. This new owner makes white fang
a fighting dog. The wolf is the champ of the region until he fights a small bull dog. "White Fang tore
wildly around, trying to shake off the bulldog's body" (p. 167)He almost dies but the fight is broken
up and white fang is rescued by a good man by the name of Weedon Scott. White Fang loves his
new master and this is the first time he has experienced love for anything. Scott eventually has to go
home to California and is about to leave White Fang. "White Fang was howling as dogs howl when
their masters lie dead" (p. 186) White Fang did not want this to happen so he ran as fast as possible

Similarities Between The Lady With The Dog And Hills Like...
When discussing love many different thoughts come to mind. Everyone usually has their own
opinion regarding the controversial word. Everyone views love in a different light, but sometimes
might contain some similarities. In "The Lady with the Dog" and "Hills Like White Elephants" both
portray a skewed point of view on how each individual view what love is to them. Both pieces
vividly show love in a conditional way. True love is not conditional, but it is: not lustful,
unconditional, and it is everlasting. First off, in both readings it discusses two individuals in a sexual
relationship where neither are married. They are both living an unrealistic lifestyle that almost
makes the existence of love impossible. There is an ongoing affair in "The Lady with the Dog"
where they are both trying to live their normal lives, but yet at the same time trying to keep their
relationship afloat by having the mistress coming to visit Dmitri Gurov in Moscow. However, in the
beginning of the story, it displays Gurov as a womanizer and a man who views women to satisfy his
sexual needs. As the story continues it describes a time he went on a regular vacation, but ended up
meeting a woman with a dog that was married at the time and who was also a virgin. He then ends
up taking her virginity and slowly develops feelings for her. He persists in seeing her after the
vacation and they meet on several occasions. He steadily realizes that this "love" will not work and
he sees the unrealisticness of the whole situation. This love is to be considered as limited and
immortal. In Nietzsche's book, The Gay Science, it discusses a counterpoint, "Love forgives the
beloved even his lust" (72). This views love in a lustful sense, whereas that is the main reasons for
Gurov pursuing any type of relationship in the first place. Also in Plato's, "Phaedrus" it proclaims,
"...not only while his love continues is he mischievous and unpleasant, but when his love ceases he
becomes a perfidious enemy..." (Plato). This goes to prove how Gurov felt while he was in his "love
crisis." He would try to make his lifestyle look glamorous to the outside world while on the inside
he was not anywhere near to being happy in the end only hurting his overall

Dry Dog Protein
Your dog is a valued member of your family and one you want to keep healthy. If you decide to put
your furry friend on a vegan diet, it's important to make sure you're meeting all of his nutritional
needs – a task cricket protein can help with.
Protein
Just like people, dog's need a certain amount of protein in their diet. The Association of American
Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), the organization responsible for setting pet food standards, has
declared that dry dog food must be 18% protein while poppy food must be 22% protein. These
recommendations represent the minimum amount of protein allowed. Most experts, however, agree
that a food is best when it is between 25 and 30% protein.
While humans on a vegan diet can easily find foods that provide adequate protein, the task is more
difficult for dogs. Unlike humans, dogs have trouble fully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A dog food which consists of 18% protein from meat may be adequate to meet your dog's protein
requirements, whereas a dog food which has 18% protein from corn may not be. When choosing
vegan dog food, choose options with higher protein percentages to compensate for the lower
assimilation of vegetable proteins. If you don't, you're likely to see signs of protein deficiency in
your dog, the first of which is usually a poor coat.
It's also important to note the poor digestibility of the grains on the above list. This makes it easy to
see why grain free diets are often attractive to dog owners, as well as vegan diets.
B Vitamins
Some B vitamins are found in plants, but there is no plant source of B–12 vitamins. This means
you'll have to supplement your vegan dog's diet, even if you're feeding her high–quality foods.
Cricket protein is loaded with B–12 vitamins so you can add it to your dog's dish or provide treats
that contain this important supplement.

The Lady With The Dog And Hills Like White Elephants Essay
The principal characters from the short stories, ''The Lady with the Dog'' by Chekhov, and ''Hills like
White Elephants'' by Ernest Hemingway are dishonest with the one they love and with themselves,
they hide their real feelings about the person they are with, they are living an untruthful relationship,
and as a couple they lie to each other. In ''The Lady with The Dog'', Dmitri Gurov and Anna
Sergeyevna , they are both unhappily married to other characters, and after a while they engage in an
affair, hiding the love they are feeling to each other, just because they do not want to break up the
relationships they have, they do not want more responsibility of what they have with each other. The
same matter happens in the ''Hills Like White Elephants'', The American man block out his real
feelings about the girl and instead of saying the truth, he lies to her, telling her he loves her, when he
does not, just because he wants her to do what he desires, to abort the baby they are having. The
American man is not ready for a formal relationship and he does not want any responsibility with
the girl or anyone, he just wants to live his free life with no complication. The girl knows the
American man's intention, but she does not faces him and instead, she tries her best to keep him,

Throughout the article that I have read the author, White seems to be creditable to talk about the

Analysis Of White Fang By Jack London
The American novel, White Fang, was written by the American author Jack London. This book is an
adventurous fiction novel set in the Yukon Territories. This book was written as a sequel to another
one of London's classics, Call of The Wild. This book shows the importance of nature and how
difficult it could be to survive. The book also shows how violent and ferocious not only animals, but
humans can be too.
The central setting of this novel affects the story greatly. This story takes place in the Yukon
Territories, which it is generally very cold there. The climate varies, and is very harsh to the people
that live there. Food is scarce in the Yukon Territories, and there's not much vegetation. The Yukon
Territories are mostly made up of mountains and high plateaus. More towards the end of the story,
White Fang and his master, Weedon Scott, end up in California. They live on a farm, where White
Fang has plenty of room to run. California is located on the West coast of California. In California, it
is usually warm year round. This book is told in third person omniscient, which means that the story
is told from multiple point of view. This story is told mainly from White Fang's point of view, but
the story also touches upon a few other points of view. The central setting and point of view affect
the story because the central setting describes how the people are living and their living conditions.
The point of view affects the story because it shows the perspectives of

How Should Dog Owners Keep Chocolate?
Chocolate can be a delicious treat that many people enjoy. Even though this treat is edible for
humans; it can be dangerous for animals, specifically canines. Dog owners should keep chocolate
away from their pets or else it will harm the animal and potentially kill them. Dogs have different
effects than humans do when ingesting food. When a dog eats chocolate is potentailly very
dangerous. Depending on the weight and the amount that is eaten, it can be fatal. Dr. Tina Wismer,
the medical director of the ASPCAAnimal Poison Control Center, has said that dogs do not have an
off button. She says that if a human were to eat ten percent of their body weight in chocolate then
they would have the same problems. "A 10–pound dog can easily eat a pound of chocolate"(Saint

These beans contain stimulants, including caffeine and theobromine. These stimulants can be very
dangerous to dogs. Theobromine is a bitter, volatile compound that is obtained from the cacao seeds.
This alkaloid resembles caffine in physiological effects. This stimulant is similar to caffeine. Dogs
metabolise this stimulant much slower than humans do. Because canine metabolise at a slower rate,
it can cause the chocolate to be toxic. If a dog ingests between 100 and 250 mg per kg of the dog's
bodyweight then it can be fatal. With milk chocolate, the same size dog would need to eat around
500 grams for it to be fatal. White chocolate contains very little of the stimulant. The toxicity in this
type is very unlikely. If the animal eats a huge amount there still may be signs of intestinal

Descriptive Essay About My Dog
My first dog was named Toby, he was a very white, ball of fluff. He blended in with the shiny white
crispy snow on December 25, 2006. My sisters and I were on our way home from my dad's house
when all of a sudden we pulled into my mom's house. On Sunday, December 25, 2006, Toby was
waiting at our house. We all got out of the car on that cold snowy day and walked on the slippery
sidewalk. The snow was like a chilling carpet on the bottoms of our feet. My mom opened the door
with a camera so my sisters and I knew something was up. A shocking step in the house and we saw
a very fluffy dog, we were very excited. He was like a deer in headlights. There was a bunch of
screaming and yelling going on at that moment between the three of us. We ... Show more content

My mom said, "Toby is cute when he runs, he looks like a fluff ball." Toby always runs around the
house, and when he comes in he looks like he ran a marathon. Toby hates baths, so he always glares
at us when we bathe him. I felt really good inside and out, my dog was very soft when he was a
puppy. He followed us around that whole day. The temperature was very cold but that didn't make
the moment worse, it didn't even affect it. The snow was very high and it was chilling feeling on the
bottoms of our feet. There was a ton of screaming and happiness because we were young kids and
very happy that we got a dog. We will never forget when we were begging for her to let us keep
him, she was only joking with us. When she told us that we were allowed to keep him my sisters and
I were very shocked, joyful, and happy. We were jumping around like we just won the lottery. After
an hour of playing with him we still couldn't get over the moment of us getting him. My mom got
each of us a toy to give to him. I gave him a red lobster and my two sisters gave him bones. I also
got my dog a bone, water, and food on that Christmas morning. Since Toby always bark, I cannot
wait until he comes inside. Finally, he stopped barking. For a long time, I did not know if he was
ever going to stop barking. We were in the happiest house on the street that day, our house was
almost dancing. One big memory I have with my dog was putting him in the back of my Tonka
truck and driving him around for

Persuasive Animal Shelter

  • 1. Persuasive Animal Shelter I met my best friend ten years ago. He has thick, brown, black, and white hair, brown eyes, and white feet. He loves stuffed animals that squeak, riding on the golf cart, hunting for lizards and squirrels, and eating any time of day. His name is Sam and he's ten years old. Oh, did I mention that he's a dog? He does not know it though. When I was seven years old, my mom, brother, and I went to the local animal shelter to look at the animals. We found two adorable puppies –– one was solid white and the other was brown, black, and white –– and my brother and I begged to have the white one. But, a couple days later, we came home from school and saw that sweet brown, black, and white puppy lying on our dad's chest taking a nap. The white one had ... Pugs and other short nosed dogs often have breathing problems. Pugs can also get diabetes, spinda bifida – because of the tightly curled tails, –– and dislocation of joints. German Shepherd can have chronic pelvic pain, hip dysplasia, and at least eight different heart problems. Yorkshire Terriers have a high risk of having a collapsed trachea, seizures, diarrhea, and hepatitis. Bulldogs are known to develop brain and spine tumors and skin infections. They also often have to be artificially inseminated and give birth by Cesarean section because their heads are too big and their hips are too narrow to give birth. If humans have to surgically produce and give birth to bulldog puppies, they should not be having puppies; there are plenty of other breeds that do not have to go through so many traumas to give birth. Boxers also have breathing problems, can develop several types of cancer, have respiratory problems, and eye ulcers. Of Mice And Men Symbolism Essay 1) Candy's actions explain that during difficult times, without the support of people on your side, the power of others makes us do things we may not want to do. For instance, when Carlson suggests for Candy to kill his old dog, he was not willing to do so, but he reluctantly agrees for Carlson to execute the dog, as it is in favor of the majority in the bunkhouse. After his dog dies, Candy reveals his true emotions and perceptions about the situation that he did not display that day by telling George "I ought to of shot that dog myself, George. I shouldn't ought to of let no stranger shoot my dog" (61). In addition, Steinbeck also describes Candy's speech as "softly" and "hopelessly" (47) portraying his disappointment in the matter that nobody ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Summary Of Jack London's White Fang What if you took a very deep look at severity in the wild and the heartlessness of mankind? That is the story of White Fang. White Fang is an adventure fiction novel by Jack London, and it was published in May 1906 by Macmillan Publishers. It is a very gruesome novel that tells the story about wolves during the Klondike Gold Rush. Jack London went to the gold rush and experienced the wild for himself, and he tells about it in this story along with a similar book The Call of the Wild. This book is important because it shows how violent the animals in the wild are and how cruel people can be. Due to London's writing style, White Fang is told in both third person–limited and omniscient. He shifts his focus early on the story with two characters Hank and Bill to the main character White Fang later on; this helps the reader see from different points of view, even though Bill and Henry's story doesn't last long. The story takes place in the Canada, in the Yukon Territory and Northwest Territories, in the 1890's. The story takes place during the Klondike Gold Rush, relating to London's experiences during the said gold rush. This gives a sense of isolation and fear as there are few creatures out in the snowy environment, and the few animals that are in the area are predators. This changes later as the main characters gets to civilization. There are many characters in the story; The characters in the story include both dogs and humans. Soon another famine comes, and all of his brothers and sisters die, and his father dies from being attacked by a lynx. The next central setting is in an Indian camp where Grey Beaver takes White Fang and the she–wolf, who is part dog, and was named Kiche until she escaped. • 6. Analysis Of The Painting 'Moving Day' The painting "Moving day" from 1967 seems to be about a black family who is moving to another country. When a person who is different moves to another place, with other people, it's harder to become a part of the people who is already living there. That's because they don't know anybody at all. In this painting the black kids have a cat, and the white kids have a dog. I think that is a detail with a lot of meaning. The cat and the dog are different, and they sometimes don't like each other because of that. Dogs and cats can be friends too, but sometimes the dog can be (avstøtende), and not accept the cats for who they are. That is exactly the same as black and white people do to each other. I think the author wrote this story in order to make us understand that life is not easy for these animals and they need conscious people. It is important because there are many things that one cannot do at a young age, such as feeding or dressing one's self. In contrast, there are also many things that one cannot do at an old age, such as being the breadwinner of a family or going to the bathroom on one's own. In both stages of life one is usually helpless and dependent on others. This is why old age is usually considered one's second childhood. The cancer would cause Princess to suffer daily. She wasn't able to eat, sleep, or walk. As it got worse, my grandpa decided that it would be best to put her down so she would no longer suffer. First off, I feel that the correct use of euthanasia is when an animal is in devastating pain, and when the animal is uncomfortable. It can't eat it's usual meals, and when there is nothing to do to help this animal live longer, it is kind to euthanize it. For example, when my dog was dying, she was in excruciating pain, and could not eat. Our choices were either to let her die naturally, suffering for possibly weeks or months of pain, or to assists her with a kind and painless death. In this case, euthanasia was being correctly used. In the Newsela article, Washington Post speaks about how one of the white rhino's from the San Diego Zoo was euthanized because of old age, and another that is in the decision of being euthanized because of a harmful bacterial infection. (Washington Post, Newsela Staff, xx) However, euthanasia can be used incorrectly, in a non–humane way. For example, when people have perfectly healthy pets that are euthanized, that is an unethical use of euthanasia. I had a German Shepherd at my aunt's house that was put down because the neighbors' children would irritate him so much, that he snapped and attacked the kids. Because of this incident, the neighbors parents would complain about the dog and since they complained so much, they had the dog euthanized. This is a very incorrect use of ... • 12. Patrick Slush Descriptive Writing There is nothing more terribly beautiful than the snow stricken streets of New York City. Beneath a greying evening sky, and between tall buildings of steel, are big flakes of swirling snow that drift and lightly cover every street lamp, branch, shoulder and patch of pavement untouched by moving feet. Patrick Sole, a man without a home, is slumped, in wet, grey slush, against a brick wall. He does not twitch, he does not tremble. And if white begins to blanket his tattered coat, and if his frostnipped fingers begin to numb; well, he does not stir. For how long he has sat there, he does not know, for he looks and feels as white as a ghost. With an icy puff of breath, Patrick blinks slowly and blankly observes the blur of faces before him. As the evening sky blackens, the bustle of the street grows noisier and is lit vividly by street lamps, lights, cars and electronic billboards. It is at that moment Patrick wonders: how can one be so lonely in a city with over nineteen million souls? Patrick is so lost in melancholy that he does not notice a wet nose nudge his gloved hand. And then there is Patrick, frozen in place, watching crowds dart by heedless of him, the dog, and his suffering. The heaviness in his heart continues to grow and grow, weighing him down and filling his chest. It would appear so that if his heart were to collapse under the weight, then an avalanche of his pain would fall and crush the entire city. Born black, the parts of the dog where the Urajiro is will continuously fade until it is completely visible. The dog, affectionately called White Dog by Sam, helps to save Sam's life many times. She is spoken of throughout the book by Sam's children as well as by Sam in his journal entries. The main question throughout the book asks if White Dog is in fact real or is she just an illusion? There are strong facts all through the book that support White Dog's realistic nature. Many facts throughout the duration of this book support the theory of White Dog's existence. At the beginning of the book no one but Sam can see White Dog; however, as the book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This makes a very straightforward clue that White Dog is in fact real. Although many facts support White Dog's existence, there are some which make White Dog seem magical. One of the strongest suggestions in the book that supports this is the fact that White Dog does not bark and the neighborhood dogs do not bark in response to him. Sam even admits this oddity to him self as he lies in the hospital after his near death experience. Neelie makes a point to the family about ghost dog never barking, during her visit with Sam at the hospital. After her visit Sam begins to think back on his experience with White Dog and realizes "I've never heard White Dog bark" (Kay 89). Another fact that questions the realism of White Dog is how he escaped from the house to get help for Sam. This fact is only mentioned by Sam, and is easily dismissed by the chance that he accidentally left a door open. Towards the end of the book Sam tells his youngest son James his thoughts about White Dog. He states to James "That was your mama" (Kay 177). This, however, does not disprove that White Dog is real, it is merely his feelings. In the book, To Dance With The White Dog, White Dog's existence is neither confirmed nor denied. The author leaves it to the reader to come to his or her own conclusions about the realism of White Dog. The book merely gives context clues and abstract ideas to the audience so that they can derive an idea. The reader can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In paragraph 1, the color of the whole environment is grey. The combination of the black and white spot of the puupy is grey. The tension between the night and morning depicts the life. Life is often compared to the stages of the day– dawn (infant), morning (adulthood), noon (man), dusk (near–death) and night (death). It is a contradiction that the puppy died in the dawn and not in the dusk or evening. It suugest that life is unfair, we could die in unexpected way like what happen to the puppy, existed from dawn to morning and eventually when sunrise came the puppy dies. The black and white spots also symbolize the yin–yang principle. Two halves that together complete wholeness. Yin and yang are also the starting point for change. When something is whole, by definition it is unchanging and complete. So when you split something into two halves – yin / yang, it upsets the equilibrium of wholeness. This starts both halves chasing after each other as they seek a new balance with each other. The word Yin comes out to mean "shady side" and Yang "sunny side".Yin Yang is the concept of duality forming a whole. • 30. AAnalysis of Jack London Novels A literary Analysis of Jack London three most recognized works, Sea Wolf; The Call of the Wild; and White Fang. Jack London lived a full life, even though he died at the young age of forty. In his life time he experienced many things, and I believe that these experiences were the catalyst of his novels. Jack London was an oyster pirate, a government patrolman in San Francisco Bay, a sailor and an agrarian reformer, a seal hunter in the North Pacific and a gold prospector in the frozen Klondike, a war correspondent and a prizefighting reporter, a socialist soapbox orator who later became a lecturer at universities, a family man and landowner, and of course a true American writer. A critic by the name of Alfred Kazin once said ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following the success of The Call of the Wild, London decided to write a complementary work–the story of a dog taken out of the wild to become part of civilization. Thus, White Fang was created. White Fang is about wolf who's mother goes into a tribe of Indians because food is scarce. The cub ( White Fang) is taken in by a tribe but at the same time rejected by his mother. This is the first step in his hard upbringing. He is not friend to all of the other Indian dogs and even the Indians. He leaves camp with his master. He is sold to a new owner. This new owner is mean to the dog and does not let him live a desired life. This new owner makes white fang a fighting dog. The wolf is the champ of the region until he fights a small bull dog. "White Fang tore wildly around, trying to shake off the bulldog's body" (p. 167)He almost dies but the fight is broken up and white fang is rescued by a good man by the name of Weedon Scott. White Fang loves his new master and this is the first time he has experienced love for anything. Scott eventually has to go home to California and is about to leave White Fang. "White Fang was howling as dogs howl when their masters lie dead" (p. 186) White Fang did not want this to happen so he ran as fast as possible to the ferry and just made it. Scott goes back to California and White Fang lives there happily ever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Similarities Between The Lady With The Dog And Hills Like... When discussing love many different thoughts come to mind. Everyone usually has their own opinion regarding the controversial word. Everyone views love in a different light, but sometimes might contain some similarities. In "The Lady with the Dog" and "Hills Like White Elephants" both portray a skewed point of view on how each individual view what love is to them. Both pieces vividly show love in a conditional way. True love is not conditional, but it is: not lustful, unconditional, and it is everlasting. First off, in both readings it discusses two individuals in a sexual relationship where neither are married. They are both living an unrealistic lifestyle that almost makes the existence of love impossible. There is an ongoing affair in "The Lady with the Dog" where they are both trying to live their normal lives, but yet at the same time trying to keep their relationship afloat by having the mistress coming to visit Dmitri Gurov in Moscow. However, in the beginning of the story, it displays Gurov as a womanizer and a man who views women to satisfy his sexual needs. As the story continues it describes a time he went on a regular vacation, but ended up meeting a woman with a dog that was married at the time and who was also a virgin. He then ends up taking her virginity and slowly develops feelings for her. He persists in seeing her after the vacation and they meet on several occasions. He steadily realizes that this "love" will not work and he sees the unrealisticness of the whole situation. This love is to be considered as limited and immortal. In Nietzsche's book, The Gay Science, it discusses a counterpoint, "Love forgives the beloved even his lust" (72). This views love in a lustful sense, whereas that is the main reasons for Gurov pursuing any type of relationship in the first place. Also in Plato's, "Phaedrus" it proclaims, "...not only while his love continues is he mischievous and unpleasant, but when his love ceases he becomes a perfidious enemy..." (Plato). This goes to prove how Gurov felt while he was in his "love crisis." He would try to make his lifestyle look glamorous to the outside world while on the inside he was not anywhere near to being happy in the end only hurting his overall ... If you decide to put your furry friend on a vegan diet, it's important to make sure you're meeting all of his nutritional needs – a task cricket protein can help with. Protein Just like people, dog's need a certain amount of protein in their diet. The Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), the organization responsible for setting pet food standards, has declared that dry dog food must be 18% protein while poppy food must be 22% protein. These recommendations represent the minimum amount of protein allowed. Most experts, however, agree that a food is best when it is between 25 and 30% protein. While humans on a vegan diet can easily find foods that provide adequate protein, the task is more difficult for dogs. Unlike humans, dogs have trouble fully ... A dog food which consists of 18% protein from meat may be adequate to meet your dog's protein requirements, whereas a dog food which has 18% protein from corn may not be. When choosing vegan dog food, choose options with higher protein percentages to compensate for the lower assimilation of vegetable proteins. If you don't, you're likely to see signs of protein deficiency in your dog, the first of which is usually a poor coat. It's also important to note the poor digestibility of the grains on the above list. This makes it easy to see why grain free diets are often attractive to dog owners, as well as vegan diets. B Vitamins Some B vitamins are found in plants, but there is no plant source of B–12 vitamins. This means you'll have to supplement your vegan dog's diet, even if you're feeding her high–quality foods. Cricket protein is loaded with B–12 vitamins so you can add it to your dog's dish or provide treats that contain this important supplement. Aminoalkanoic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Lady With The Dog And Hills Like White Elephants Essay The principal characters from the short stories, ''The Lady with the Dog'' by Chekhov, and ''Hills like White Elephants'' by Ernest Hemingway are dishonest with the one they love and with themselves, they hide their real feelings about the person they are with, they are living an untruthful relationship, and as a couple they lie to each other. Even though this treat is edible for humans; it can be dangerous for animals, specifically canines. Dog owners should keep chocolate away from their pets or else it will harm the animal and potentially kill them. Dogs have different effects than humans do when ingesting food. Dr. Tina Wismer, the medical director of the ASPCAAnimal Poison Control Center, has said that dogs do not have an off button. She says that if a human were to eat ten percent of their body weight in chocolate then they would have the same problems. "A 10–pound dog can easily eat a pound of chocolate"(Saint Louis D4).
