Waving Through A Window Analysis
The story of "Waving Through A Window" is a song in the musical Dear Evan Hansen with music and lyrics by Benji Pasek and Justin Paul. The
musical outlines the main character Evan Hansen, a high schooler with social anxiety disorder. His feelings of rejection seen throughout the
performance and soundtrack extend specifically to his deadbeat father whom we never meet, his single mother Heidi, who spends all her time
either at her nursing job or studying to become a paralegal, and his unrequited affection for a junior named Zoe Murphy which set the stones of
him as a person that we see over the course of the musical. His therapist assigns him to write letters to himself about how 'today is going to be a
good day and here's why' which becomes the spark for the plot of the story. Even so, Evan doesn't actually believe any amazing days are coming
his way, so what he writes instead is a cry for help from a desperate kid who's lost all hope of ever feeling part of the world that swirls around him.
The events leading up to the song has Evan chatting with his family friend, the closest thing he has to an actual friend, Jared Kleinman. Jared proceeds
to tease Connor Murphy – the school's resident Boo Radley – on his appearance by calling his style "very school shooter chic" which leads to a
negative interaction between Evan and Connor. Evan is then pushed to the ground as Jared and Connor disappear through the halls. This prompts Zoe,
Connor's little sister, to apologize on her

Sand Creek Massacre. Furthermore, after the Indians lost, the government gave them the opportunity to become and live like white settlers. For that,
they will have to give up on their culture, traditions, and language. Furthermore, while the Plain and Indian Wars was going on, in the Wild WestBilly

A Short Story : The Story Of My Life
I always knew that one day, my worst fear would be realized....yet when it did come, I was no where near ready to accept it.
I understand psychologically that every one and every animal dies... that's life. But, the heart only feels loss and pain when someone to whom you
have given your life to, dies. I say someone as though I'm speaking about a person, but, I speak of Gizzy, my 13 year old adorable long–haired
Chihuahua, who to me, was every bit as much a fun–loving, heart–beating, personality–filled happy–go–lucky human being.
I don't know what it feels like to lose a child but I can only fathom that the pain I felt and continue to feel is a close second to that. I could not imagine
my life without my son in it and I'm finding my life without Gizzy at times, overwhelming even after 6 months.
Gizzy passed away on April 20, 2017 and my life has not been the same since. At first, I could not function– at all. Richard, my love, had to pick up the
pieces of life around me even though he himself was hurting from the loss.
Richard wanted nothing to do with Gizzy when I first met him but, as was the personality of this little being, he captured Rich's heart in a way that
completely changed him forever. The love they had for each other was deep and every bit as mutual. It was at this time that I understood why I loved
this man. He completely got me.
Gizzy had had a bad year. We knew he had a heart murmur and he was taking medication to help his heart function better but when

Descriptive Essay On The Haunted House
Two boys were walking on the campus of Bridgeville Academy. They were each armed with a pile of books that threatened to topple onto the
well–worn paved parking lot of the school. They turned out of the campus and began walking down the sidewalk towards home. The air was chilly
and the leaves were beginning to shed their emerald green gowns for scarlet, gold, and, fiery orange. The boys were in good spirits and they walked
briskly down the walkway. Before long, the houses had started to get bigger and farther apart.
"Oh, no," one of the boys groaned as he stopped in his tracks.
"What is it, Jeremy? the second boy asked.
"It's the Haunted Mansion, Dave," the boy named Jeremy whispered nervously. A few houses from where they stood was the house that many people
called "The Haunted Mansion". They knew that it wasn't really haunted, but it was hard to tell when you looked at it. The old fashioned brick house
seemed ready to topple over at any moment. The large yard was overrun with weeds. The windows and doors were boarded over and the beat up front
door was half hidden by weeds.
"I almost forgot about this place," Dave said as he walked closer to the gloomy house.
"Dave, where are you going!" Jeremy exclaimed as he sprinted to catch up with his friend. Dave had stopped right in front of the house and stared at
the unwelcoming windows. The inky black windows made the house appear as if it were a slumbering dragon awaiting its prey. The soot covered

Familiar Shores
The waves were tauntingly calm that day, after the hurricane of fast–paced incidents that uprooted John's life from the very beginning. He didn't think
he would have changed it, even if he had a choice. He pulled his brimmed hat further over his droopy eyes and squirmed into a more comfortable
position on the makeshift hammock, recalling the very first day.
John had found himself conflicted. His hands tugged through his rapidly greying hair, peppered areas of darkness disappearing more and more each
day. He had never been the type of man to turn down any opportunity to aid his niece, his only remaining family, but diving to the ocean floor? He
hadn't touched his equipment in over two decades. It had been stashed away, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They laughed, and grappled playfully, daring each other to venture close to the weathered man, gathering the courage to venture close enough so that
John could see the dry salt in their scraggly hair. The elders watched on carefully from the sanctuary of their homes, exuding mild hostility. John was
unaffected. He had a solid goal in mind, pulsing with determination.
John pulled on his diving equipment but with every turn of his back, he heard frantic scuttling and finding the source, he was met with the sight of a
retreating back kicking up sand and a handful of tropical fruits left on his bag. After a while, the pile grew into a small mountain, strays rolling on the
sand. It was distracting and he was annoyed.
The first dive was a test dive. A warm–up. When he resurfaced, only two children remained seated next to his bag, helping themselves to the fruits.
They watched him trudge back up shore, squealing as he shook water out of his hair. They crept closer and prodded his diving gear with sticky fingers.
He attempted to look irritated, but their pure and innocent, if not mischievous, curiosity reminded him of his beloved niece.
He decided he needed something more thrilling than a simple test dive. Tailed by the children, he eyed the dangerous rocky areas, further away from
calmer waters. As he prepared to swim again, the

"Run," an elderly man shouted at his students, interrupting his photosynthesis moment.
"Off the ground, Junho." Junho's eyes unlocked, his vision flooded with the cotton clouds and baby blue sky. The lively looking grass unfolded as
Junho hustled to his rowdy coach. The day was too perfect.
Preparing himself to run off with much confidence, rain broke out, abruptly stopping him as he made his first step to sprint. Junho took his eyes off the
finish line and fixed his stare upon the upsetting clouds. Keeping his stare upon the gray clouds, he tilted his head.
"It was supposed to be a perfect day," he breathed.
Junho flinched as a raindrop struck back by intruding his eye. His quick reflexes resulted in him shifting his head towards a puddle in front of him.
The puddle reflected the upper half of himself; damp, jet black hair, dark brown eyes, smooth pale skin, the bottom half of his body was irrelevant.
The small body of water ruined it's perfect surface as droplets of rain poured down. Leaving the watered–downed field, Junho heard a faint constant

Sharky In Stephen Mcpherson's 'The Seafarer' By Conor...
In our daily lives, we face various pressures that can ultimately result in bad decision–making, and poor judgement. However, it is not these pressures
that prevent us from becoming a better version of ourselves, but our denial to acknowledge and learn from the trial that prevents our change. In "The
Seafarer", Conor McPherson illustrates this idea through the character of Sharky. The Irish play, set in a coastal town in northern Dublin, revolves
around the main character, "Sharky" who moves back to Dublin in order to help his blind brother, Richard. Through characterization, McPherson shows
that salvation is possible for people like Sharky because the main character has the potential to change and to become a better version of himself. It is
shown through acceptance of responsibility, change and bettering his relationship with Nicky.
Firstly, Sharky's acceptance of responsibility reunited him with his brother. When Sharky and Ivan chat in the living room, we learn that the main
character has recently returned from County Clare to his home town, he says: "But I had to get back up because . . . (signals "Richard")"
(McPherson 14). Here, McPherson demonstrates that the main reason of Sharky's return to Dublin is because of his brother who has recently gone
blind. The act of taking care of someone demonstrates a sense of responsibility and love towards that individual. In contrast, when Sharky argues with
Richard in the living room, in front of everyone, he says: "Did you want

Many soldiers lost their lives, but they were few soldiers that fought with the valor of Audie Murphy. In January 1945, German forces attacked
Company B, 15th Regiment, 3rd infantry division in Holtzwihr. Approximately 250 German soldiers were heading towards the Bois de Reidwihr
which they had planned to seize. The Americans felt unprepared when they discovered the presence of the German forces, so they decided to fall
back. However, Audie Murphy decided to move forward and fight. He drew a .50 caliber and started shooting Germans as he believed that German
advancements in this area needed to be stopped at all costs. This German infantryman were as close as 10 yards from Lieutenant Murphy, but he kept
shooting at German infantry bodies. The bravery Murphy presented at Holtzwihr earned him the medal of honor.
c. Murphy's valor came to a test when his battalion headed to Anzio. The Germans received an unexpected advantage because of a missed landing of
American troops. The Germans moved 125,000 troops to position and attacked allied soldiers with artillery. Their commander got wounded, but Audie
Murphy stepped up to lead his company during the enemies heavy fire. In recognition of his leadership efforts, Murphy got promoted to platoon leader
and later earned a Bronze star in March 1994 for destroying a German tank on his own. He contributed significantly to several operations during the

A Person 's Environment Is The Same Opportunity At The End...
Every person struggle is different. Some have worked sweat and tears for their achievements while others have had things just handed to them and
do not really know the struggle of hard work. Some people work as hard as they can and at the end of the day, they still cannot seem to succeed, as
they would like to. They can work hard, live a good legal life, and yet still cannot make ends meet at the end of the day. The film "Trading places," and
the Not everybody in America has the same opportunity to be successful because one person's environment may be much rougher than another person
environment. A person's environment is a key factor in their success. A person born into poverty is going to have a much harder time to get ahead
than a person that is born into a wealthy family or environment. It is as if they are already in a negative situation before they even have a chance to
begin life. A person born into poverty doesn't have that extra time to do homework at home because they might have to be home taking care of other
siblings while guardians are at work. Sometimes they might not even be at home babysitting; they might have to get a job themselves because the
money situation is so tight at home. While a person born to a wealthier family has that extra time to study, that person has the extra time to participate
in extracurricular activities that might be a key to success. They do not have to worry about little things, which allow them to concentrate all of their

Title: 5 Songs We Must Ban From High School Couples
Date: 1/19/14
As I write this, I'm in between apartments and living at home for the time being, so I've taken this moment of desperate, post–collegiate aimlessness
solitude to clean out my childhood bedroom. The small pile of sweat–stained band t–shirts, folders of AP History notes my high school teachers
insisted I'd need in college, and Mad Magazine issues are worth some nostalgic currency, but I had no idea I was stocked in pitiful high school mix CDs.
Whether they were cherished tokens of affection by past girlfriends/friends or copies made under the assumption that my mix work would be highly
praised for years to come, I was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And, like, ever since you fell for your Winter Ball date a couple weeks ago, this song has been screaming from every open locker vent and car radio. It's
like being a kid again, but also, like, becoming an adult too.
Do you really want a small taste of adulthood though? Go to any liberal arts college with a large sized quad on a warm autumn day. Target the frat
boy wearing socks with sandals and carrying an acoustic guitar. Join the slowly forming circle of kids with no coordination trying to bob along and
listen closely. Yes, between covers of "Wagon Wheel", any John Mayer single, and "Santeria", this young troubadour's secret weapon is "First Day of
My Life". This song has played the "our song" role to so many past, doomed relationships now, it has jumped into the lexicon of alpha bros' five songs
they know on guitar that'll get them laid. Conor Oberst would weep over the fate of his song, but wiping his tears with all the hundred dollar bills he's
made from it give him papercuts.
No One's Gonna Love You by Band of Horses– For those looking for that "cute, slow folk song about love" to fill the void after "First Day of My
Life" tires a bit, the next logical step would be "No One's Gonna Love You". It sounds like a rather damning title, but wait, the full lyric is "no one is
ever gonna love you more than I do", making it surprisingly uber–cute, right?
No. Stop it. Read all

Why Women Should Not Have Political Rights
During the late 19th and 20th century, many political and social events like the persons case, suffrage, and both world wars aided in transforming
Canada 's meaning and purpose for a woman. Many political figures like Emily Murphy and Alberta 's Famous Five played large roles in
characterizing the rights and freedoms of a woman. Secondly, the roaring twenties was a time for females to challenge their traditional roles and prove
that they have much broader capabilities than to stay at home. Finally, women began to fill the gap of men in the workforce and assisted overseas
during the world wars. Both world wars served to shift gender roles in Canada since women in Canada participated in non–traditional roles and gained
political rights.
One of Canada 's most influential figures of the 1920 's that shifted gender roles and the way women are portrayed was Alberta 's Famous Five. The
famous five which included the likes of Nellie McClung, Emily Murphy, Louise McKinney, Irene Parlby, and Menrietta Edwards, changed the notion
that women should not have political rights. For one achievement, a member of the famous five by the name of Nellie McClung made great changes in
granting women rights. Nellie McClung started a movement to gain women's suffrage and strongly supported prohibition. Nellie was successful with
women's suffrage, but later lost her legal seat as a punishment for supporting prohibition. "Women had first to convince the world that they had souls,
and then that they

Film Analysis Of The Movie Inception
The film Inception captured the imagination of many spectators as one of the best science fiction and thriller movies to be produced that year. It was
produced and directed by Christopher Nolan who also directed The Dark Knight, Interstellar, and Dunkirk. Inception is based on the basic inspiration
that a single idea in an individual's mind can be either the most valuable asset or the most dangerous weapon.
Inception is a science fiction thriller movie. This genre deals with situations and technology that would be classified as scientific, but does not exist in
real life. Inception connects with this because of the technology they used to enter the dreams. Although it was never explained, the machine seems to
pump somnacin into the body. Somnacin is a drug utilized to initiate dream sharing and lucid dreaming. The movie is also classified as a thriller
because of the exciting plot. It has intense chase scenes, gun fire, explosions, and fight scenes all within the dream state. The expectation for the
movie based on the trailer would be constant action. It seems that the main character is away from his family and is trying to get home, but the only
way he can is to do one last job. In the trailer the statement "your mind is the scene of the crime" is shown, this indicates that most of the content will
be in the dreams of the subject.
Inception is about as many as four levels of dreams within dreams, and dreams that eclipse reality. There seem to be two themes discussed in

By taking the lead and directing the assault on the machine gun nest from the point position, Sgt Murphy provided a focus point for his men to rise to
the occasion and press forward when they had little, to no motivation to continue. At this point in time, this type of leadership trait was visionary in
respect to how military leaders were trained to behave thus successfully removing the status quo. We can also see that when applying the concept of
Emotional Flexibility in regards to the Three Elements of Adaptability (BCEE, 2014b, p. 6–7), Sgt Murphy was able to control not only his own
emotions in regards to fear, apprehension, and concern. But he was able to assess his men's emotional situation and concentrate them on the act of
completing the mission. In a passage from Audie Murphy's Autobiography, To Hell and Back, "For the first time in the war, I refuse to accept facts.
While Brandon grows cold beneath my hand, I keep telling myself, 'He is not dead. He can't be dead, because if he is dead, the war is all wrong;
and Brandon has died in vain.'" (A. Murphy, 1949, p. 177). It was at this point when Audie Murphy moved forward to finish the attack on the German
machine gun nest. Audie Murphy suppressed his urge of fear in order to adapt to the situation at hand. If he had not adapted to this situation, and been

realizing my potential, where it basically slapped me in the face, was the night of the 'Westfield ' themed concert at Westfield Academy and Central

Ada's Metamorphosis to Independent Woman in Cold Mountain
As Ada arrives at Black Cove, she and her father are completely unprepared for a life of independence. The ride there becomes the first of their
problems. A new horse and cabriolet were purchased for the trip, but that was their first mistake. "The rain fell aslant, coming at their faces so that
the top of the carriage did little good in sheltering them from it" (55). Monroe, Ada's father, had no idea on how to get to Cold Mountain, and "At
each fork, Monroe simply guessed at the route they ought to take" (55). Ada's life in Charleston was one of aristocracy. She enjoyed balls, parties, and
suitors, none of which helped her in any way at Black Cove. Ruby comments that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"Ada told Ruby that she envied her knowledge of how the world runs" (137). Ruby also teaches Ada about home remedies and new ways of doing
things around the house.
Ada learns from Ruby about the nature of the world. "You commence by trying to see what likes what, Ruby said. Which Ada interpreted to mean,
Observe and understand the workings of affinity in nature" (138). Slowly Ada learns how to run the farm and live off its offerings. She begins to see
things that she might not have noticed before. As a heron flies over her head she wonders if the sighting is "A blessing? A warning beacon? Picket of the
spirit world?" (193). She jots down the incident in her journal, drawing pictures of the bird and maybe other associated objects. She even says to
herself "I am living a life now where I keep account of the doings of particular birds" (239). She is observing, and learning from, nature in its purest
forms.
It is easily seen that Ada acquires something of an understanding of nature in its purest forms. She is no longer afraid to do things that might seem
'unladylike'. Ruby dangled her feet over the edge of the hayloft. Ada had never known a grown woman to do that, but "Ruby looked at her with
some amusement, as if to say, I can do this because I have never been proper, and you can do it because you have recently quit being so" (288). The

Character Of Baby Kochamma
Navomi Ipe, otherwise known as Baby Kochamma, is an antagonist in the novel. Growing up in a traditional family, she developed a strong belief
that their practices, the caste and marriage, are correct and are meant to be followed, strictly. A materialistic and selfish person but a smart one.
Shaped by tradition, Baby Kochamma dislikes Ammu and her children as it is implied in this line "words could not describe Baby Kochamma's
outrage. "(22). Most of the time taking glee on their unhappiness. Described as young, slender, and attractive when she was 18 years old, an honest
child. Man–less woman just like Ammu but a difference in perspective. Baby Kochamma accepted her fate while Ammu "quarreling with a fate" (22).

characters in the novel with a certain level of respect. He treated a paravan like Velutha with importance as he was skilled as can be seen in this line

what if I didn't practice? Will I still be fine?" "Um...I'm guessing that practicing may have helped." My mind filled with thoughts of regret, making me
even more nervous. Why didn't you practice? It would have made it much easier for you! The bell rang and Ms. Ibs began to write notes on the board.

Bullying In Erin Murphy's White Lies
One of my most loathed singers, Taylor Swift, once stated, "If they don 't like you for being yourself, be yourself even more." However, in Erin

be accepted by her classmates, they were not warming up to her. Taking action, her mother helped Connie figure out a way to make her classmates

these films are the time period, locations, clothing, articulation, and reputation. The cultural productions of "Coming to America" and "The Gods Must
Be Crazy" can be compared and contrasted because both films exhibit a relationship that depicts how we think about Africa not as a place, but as people
as a whole in the modern world. The depiction of the movie "Coming to America" and "The God Must Be Crazy" can be compared and contrasted
on the films locations. In "Coming to America" Prince Akeem Joffer is from the nation of Zamunda, which is a fictional location. This location is
only seen in the beginning and end of the film. The nation of Zamunda depicts the idea of Africa as a land of substantial wealth. In addition, Africa as
people has the highest level of status and rights like having arranged marriages. In contrast, "The Gods Must Be Crazy" is set in Botswana, South Africa
in the Kalahari Desert. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, when the radio announcement plays during the tribune riding with as army plays it mentions " Anyone withholding information which

Africans were common to serving under. As a result, the deaths seen on film are rather critical and relevant to recognizing the meaning of Africa's
labor forced because it served a purpose for developing the ideas about the single

Analysis Of The Poem ' I Hell And Back '
Audie Murphy, one of the most well–recognized and most decorated soldiers of the United States Army of World War II, participated in two battles
which earned him respect and awards. The first, his efforts in taking Yellow Beach of southern France, earned him the Distinguished Service Cross.
The second, in a battle outside of Holtzwihr, France, earned him the Medal of Honor. Not only are these events well documented for official records,
they appear in his "autobiography" To Hell and Back, ghostwritten by David "Spec" McClure with Murphy providing details, along with various
sources which include family scrapbooks, the accounts of soldiers who served with Murphy which they gave for his medal citations, and a recently

This account, so far, squares with an account by Staff Sergeant Norman Hollen, also of Company B. Not mentioned in Hollen's account was Murphy's
killing of two Germans who he stumbled across before finding the light machine–gun, a fact which both Smith's and Graham's accounts mention .
The accounts do seem to differ in that Murphy describes machine gun fire being responsible for Tipton's death while Hollen suggests it was a sniper .
Graham supports Murphy's assertion of machine gun fire being the cause of Tipton's death, as he places the blame not on a sniper in the house, but on
the machine gun nest which Murphy storms . Meanwhile, David Smith, writer of The Price of Valor, sides with Hollen, claiming a single sniper shot
was responsible for Tipton's death. Two schools of thought appeared in the literature about what occurred and there seems no way of reconciling them.
However, Smith claims that Murphy said that it was a sniper, not a machine gun, contradicting the narrative of To Hell and Back.
Murphy's and Graham's accounts seem to show that he did not use his carbine, while Hollen and Smith both claim that Murphy killed the two
Germans who had approached with the flag of surrender with his carbine. Murphy, Smith, and Graham all agree that Murphy carried a German
machine gun which he had captured "like a BAR" and fired it from the hip as he proceeded up the hill. This detail wasn't mentioned by Hollen, who

The fresh grass tickled his sticky body as he crushed the living daylights out of them. Beneath the sun's gaze, he laid still while absorbing the beauty of
the outside world. It was perfect.

Within a few minutes, Junho reached into his stiff pocket and piled a blue and white deck of cards on top of his books along with his white bulky
headphones. His headphones shielded rounded ears from the rambling students.
"As time goes by,
I only let out sighs.
Always blaming the heavens
Pounding the floor in regret.
Isn't that why
I couldn't fly or walk?"
Consciously stacking card after card, Junho had formed a house of cards. It was perfect. Finishing his masterpiece, he looked back to the rain, building
more sighs and the tear–shaped rain fell constantly. Song after song, his view was filled with the house of cards. Three layers of cards, stacked upon
one another. Without the bottom, the tower is unstable. Without the bottom, the whole house falls and is no longer one. Without the bottom, the house
is nothing. At that very moment, the bell rang and interrupted his gaze. His eyes shifted as the bell rang throughout the school startling him. But he
wasn't the only one startled, the cards collapsed. Junho stared at the fallen cards as the faint beeping rang once more.
The bus stop was in full view from where Junho stood. He had to run. The bus wasn't too far away from it's designated destination. With such little
thought, he prepared himself once more to run. As soon as he met contact with the concrete floor a drop of water targetted him. Rain. Drip drop. One
fell right after another like a cycle. The perfect day had been ruined again by the drizzling rain.

The Famous Five and the Persons Case Essay
What if you did not count as a person anymore? You would be denied of many rights and freedoms we take for granted today. This was the situation
women faced in the past. Before 1929, women didn't count as "persons". Although they weren't denied of all their rights, women weren't allowed to
become senators. Five women in Alberta decided to take action and formed the Famous Five. The Famous Five fought for the rights of women by
winning the Persons Case and they're the reason why women are considered persons today. The Famous Five are prominent people in Canadian history
and they have established many of our rights. The Famous Five consists of Emily Murphy, Henrietta Edwards, Nellie McClung, Louise McKinney, and

They decided the question to be asked was "Does the word 'person' in section 24 of the BNA Act include female persons?" (Section 15, 2004).
Unfortunately, in 1928, the Supreme Court of Canada answers this question with no; women weren't persons. The judges of the Supreme Court
stated that when the BNA Act was written, women weren't allowed vote or run for office and the British House of Lords had no females (Alberta
Online Encyclopedia, 2004). Therefore, women didn't count as "persons". However, the Famous Five weren't satisfied with the answer they got and
decided to continue working on the case. The Famous Five decided to appeal to the decision made by the Supreme Court of Canada with the
support of Prime Minister Mackenzie King. The Famous Five appealed to the Judicial Committee and Privy Council of England. In 1929, the British
Privy Council declared women as "persons". They stated that the constitution is a "living tree" and should change according to the time (Creating
Canada, page 154). In conclusion, the victory of the Persons Case contributed to the importance of women and opened the door to many rights. After
women were declared as persons, women's role in society increased. Although none of the Famous Five was appointed as a senator, Carine Wilson
became the first female senator 1 year later. Also, the Persons Case allowed women to vote

Examples Of Allusion In Shrek
Allusions Another type of translation technique used in Shrek series by WierzbiД™ta is allusion, a reference to a particular event, person, thing,
piece of literature or art. For instance, the authors of Shrek made allusions to a number of fairy tales, like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty, that Polish
audience is also familiar with and for that reason they will be able to understand them and fully appreciate their entertaining function. The allusion to
the popular film productions, like Mission Impossible or Baywatch are also noticeable in the whole series. The majority of such allusions in Shrek is

A High School Program Should Not Be Avoided At All Costs
As I write this, I'm in between apartments and living at home for the time being, so I've taken this moment of desperate, post–collegiate aimlessness

insisted I'd need in college, and Mad Magazine issues are worth some nostalgic currency, but I had no idea I was stocked in pitiful high school mix CDs.
Whether they were cherished tokens of affection by past girlfriends/friends or copies made under the assumption that my mix work would be highly
praised for years to come, I was wrong. So very, very wrong. Other than being rife with too many pseudo–depressing acoustic jams and terrible song

The Valiant Five
The Famous Five, or Valiant Five, was not only made up of five strong, independent women, but five role models. It started with Emily Murphy, a
bright woman from Cookstown, Ontario, who was determined to make a difference for women all over Canada. She enlisted four other activists,
Nellie McClung, Louise McKinney, Henrietta Edwards, and Irene Parlby, who would help her on her journey to get women legally recognised as
"persons" in Canada. Although the five made history together, they each have very unique backstories and each of these women have helped to make
a significant difference in the lives of women for many years to come.
Emily Murphy was a women's rights activist and a feminist. She made history by becoming the first female judge in Canada for the British Empire,
which opened numerous opportunities for other women. She challenged the idea that women were more than just housewives. Before this movement,
though, she was a writer, best known for her humour and great concern for the welfare of women and children. After Murphy got married, her and her
husband took a trip to the countryside, where she encountered a women who had been left in poverty due to her husband selling her family farm that
she had been working on for some 18 years. Upon hearing this, Murphy was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

believe in the same thing, so she would take them outside during recess and play football with them, which was not seen as a "sport for ladies" at
the time. Her views on gender roles pushed her to speak out on the issue of equality. She decided to campaign on the topic of women suffrage and as a
result, women were able to vote in

Audie Murphys Legend
The first sentence of Audie Murphy's biography reads, "Audie Leon Murphy was a legend in his own time" ("Sergeant Audie Murphy Award," 2015),
a seemingly fitting introduction for one of the bravest combat soldiers in our nation's history. Never the less, I believe it simply does not do him the
justice he earned. Audie Murphy was not just a legend in his own time; he is a legend today, and remains a legend of the future. Many people
recognize his famed name and know him to be a war hero. Nevertheless, most are not fully educated on the "legend" that was, is, and always will be

Rhetorical Analysis: The Perfect Body
Body Confidence To feel body confident, you need to be happy with who you are as a women with or without curves. Many women in this century
are facing a lack of confidence by the way they look. Women may lower their self esteem by seeing another women with a beautiful feature and
compare their look with someone else. A women's body image is based on thoughts and feelings regarding the way her body looks. Sometimes,
they also believe other people are judging their appearance which can affect their body image. Victoria's Secret unveiled their campaign slogan the
"Perfect Body" with an image of tall and skinny models. However, Curvy Kate, a lingerie brand, recreates an image using models of all shapes and

models by aiming for women with a smaller waist size. The advertisement shows its audience that the perfect body is for smaller and slimmer... Show

By this time Detroit had become the epicenter of the American automobile. Detroit's grand boulevards, were now lost in this ever expanding industrial
Mecca. Detroit was home to some of America's biggest names in automotives, including Walter Chrysler, The Dodge Brothers, and the outspoken Henry
Ford. Workers in these factories often earned more in wages than many unskilled labor positions around the country. As news of the high

the up–and–coming motor city made its way around the country, migrants began to flood the city in hopes of a better life. Overcrowding among blacks

felt that segregation was the way it should be. They feared that if blacks were to breach the color line into white neighborhoods then property values

The Greatest Heroes Of The War
Born on June 20th of 1925 to a family of poor sharecroppers in small town Texas, Audie Leon Murphy had no idea he would soon be leaving for the
deadliest war to ever plague the Earth. Fresh out of the horrors of the First World War, few would have thought that yet another, deadlier war was on
the horizon. Even fewer would've thought that a farm boy from Texas would become one of the greatest heroes of the war.
Audie Murphy was by all accounts a nobody. He and his family lived a quiet life, sticking to themselves and their farms. A young Murphy would
simply help outside with the farm work, almost never wanting to be indoors. Once the war broke out, Murphy felt called to serve his country. He
tried on several occasions to enlist in the Armed Forces underage as he was not of legal age to enlist. With the help of his sister, Corrine, he
successfully enlisted in the military at the age of 17. He was given basic training, which he completed with ease.
Audie Murphy's first war experience was in North Africa during the Allied offensive to remove Axis forces from the top of Africa. North Africa was
a very important strategic point for both forces. If the Allies were successful in their push for control, it would be a very important starting point for an
invasion of Fascist Italy, and ultimately Nazi Germany. Murphy's unit, however, saw no combat in North Africa due to the expulsion of Axis Forces
from their final African foothold of Tunisia. Murphy was then sent to the island of

In his self entitled book, To Hell and Back, Audie Murphy shed a little light on how his leadership looked at him early on in his career at the
beginning of the war: "My company commander, looking at my thin frame and cursed baby face, decides that the front is no place for me. He has
me transferred to headquarters to serve as a runner. I should be grateful, but I am NOT. I am constantly sneaking off with patrols and scouting
parties. The company commander finally calls me to the carpet. "I hear you can't stay away from the front Murphy". "Yes sir" I replied. "What's
wrong with you? You want to get killed?". "No sir". "Now I'm going to do myself a favor. I'm putting you back in the lines and you'll stay there until
you're so sick of action you want to vomit". (2)
Audie Murphy, never one to back down from the challenge took his duties seriously and understood that the cost of unpreparedness would lead to
certain death on the battlefield during the war and because he was so underestimated there was always a chip on his shoulder. After returning to the
front line he became very ill and a major saw him on the side of the road puking. The major told him that he needed to go and see a medic. Audie
Murphy told him that he would, but instead returned to his men and after a week he finally passed out and woke up in the aid station. By the time
Audie Murphy was 19, he would be a second lieutenant on the front lines in France fighting off a company

(Rose)
A stinging pain surfaced on my cheek from the hard slap of my father's hand. I winced in pain, sitting on my hands in an effort not to fight back. He
looked at me once more, shook his head, and left, slamming my door shut. Once he was gone, I let my tears fall. They almost eased the irritation on my
face. Being abused and crying.
Una doble negaciГіn. Since my father stormed out, I was now alone in my room. My room wasn't the same anymore. The light blue walls seemed
like prison bars, trapping me inside a house that was not a home. My father's words still rang in my head; dirty, stupid, slut, piece of–ding. I looked
down at my phone. Four missed calls from Charlie Murphy. I let out a sigh of relief and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

"I–I have to go home. I have to go home. I have to go home! I ha–" I stopped when I reached the car and broke down. I was crying hard, huge tears
running down my face and neck, but all I wanted to do was scream. Then, I felt a sudden tightness around me. Realization hit me; it was Rose. Her
arms were wrapped around me as she lightly shushed my harsh gasps for air.
"Take this." She said, pulling away from me. I looked down at her palm to see the necklace that she wears every day.
"I can't ta–"
"Take it." She interrupted. I nodded my head as a signal for her to put it around my neck. I saw a tear fall down her face, but I quickly wiped it away. I

Analysis Of The Movie Interstellar
Interstellar
"Interstellar" (Obst, Thomas & Nolan, 2014) a terrific science fiction story with various elements. A story about love, family, and friends, but there
happens to be a villain whose actions result in shocking consequences for the other characters. There's a great amount of emotion expressed by each
character, which makes a great impact on how the film's viewed. Escorting us through wormholes, into planets in other galaxies, and black holes. The
characters keep colliding into the properties of relativity, which thoroughly clarified in numerous scenarios. The movie proceeds sometime in the future
where the Earth is slowly becoming uninhabitable for the reason of a global crop plague, in addition to a second dust bowl occurring. The science fiction
movie "Interstellar" (Obst, Thomas & Nolan, 2014) does an excellent job portraying advancements in technology, astrophysics and real–life issues that
could eventually happen, such as food scarcity and catastrophic natural disasters.
To begin with, the advancements in the movie remains comparable towards today's technology, but there are a few advances that happen to be far off
from doing. The movie offers us an insight of what mankind can accomplish if we turn in the right direction. "Interstellar" (Obst, Thomas & Nolan,
2014) shows space stations that sustain a large amount of human life to create or prepare for the next generation to come. Demonstrates how robots
can help grow and maintain crops, also they're also now

Same Love By Macklemore And Ryan Lewis
Same Love by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
Can you ever recall a time when you heard a song reaching out to you with lyrics that literally called out to you? Same Love by Macklemore and
Ryan Lewis does exactly this. The song was written in 2013 during legalization of same sex marriage in the state of Washington. Thesong not only
reached the lives of those in Washington but reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs in the United States and number 1 in New
Zealand and Australia. Taking a closer look at the lyrcis, the audience can see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are not just making money off of the
song, they are grasping the lives of many in each chorise for example Macklemore's opening line, ''When I was in the third grade I thought that I
was gay, because I could draw, my uncle was and I kept my room straight.'' Emphasis that homosexuality is defined as a way of living, as a way one
acts. That because his room is clean and he can draw, automatically makes society see a homosexual. Millions of people around the world would be
able to understand on a very real level what it means to be gay in society. Not only is it reaching these people but its awakening them to a more realist
point of music, to reach the audience no matter what the subject, no one in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The issue here is that religion can become overpowering or too much for those to handle when it is being forced onto someone. America which has
been known for centuries to be the land of the ''free'' is not so free after all, Line 16 states, ''America the brave still fears what we don't know.''
Captures the reality that so many of us have known for decades. America is free to an extent, but not free to express yourself unless you're expressing
emotions of the winning

Waving Through A Window Analysis

  • 1. Waving Through A Window Analysis The story of "Waving Through A Window" is a song in the musical Dear Evan Hansen with music and lyrics by Benji Pasek and Justin Paul. The musical outlines the main character Evan Hansen, a high schooler with social anxiety disorder. His feelings of rejection seen throughout the performance and soundtrack extend specifically to his deadbeat father whom we never meet, his single mother Heidi, who spends all her time either at her nursing job or studying to become a paralegal, and his unrequited affection for a junior named Zoe Murphy which set the stones of him as a person that we see over the course of the musical. His therapist assigns him to write letters to himself about how 'today is going to be a good day and here's why' which becomes the spark for the plot of the story. Even so, Evan doesn't actually believe any amazing days are coming his way, so what he writes instead is a cry for help from a desperate kid who's lost all hope of ever feeling part of the world that swirls around him. The events leading up to the song has Evan chatting with his family friend, the closest thing he has to an actual friend, Jared Kleinman. Jared proceeds to tease Connor Murphy – the school's resident Boo Radley – on his appearance by calling his style "very school shooter chic" which leads to a negative interaction between Evan and Connor. Evan is then pushed to the ground as Jared and Connor disappear through the halls. This prompts Zoe, Connor's little sister, to apologize on her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Billy The Kid Short Story The Death of Billy the Kid In the period time from 1865– 1890, the Plain and Indian War. It started when the Americans wanted to expand to the Great Plains. The only problem was that the Indians lived there. In addition, the government decided to move them to reservations that were small and farming was not possible because the land was dry. The Indians fought for their lands and some of those battles were the Battle of the Little Bighorn, Wounded Knee, and the Sand Creek Massacre. Furthermore, after the Indians lost, the government gave them the opportunity to become and live like white settlers. For that, they will have to give up on their culture, traditions, and language. Furthermore, while the Plain and Indian Wars was going on, in the Wild WestBilly the Kid was becoming a legend. In short, like every legend there had to be an end. In the article, The Authentic Life of Billy the Kid by Garrett Pat, identify the incidents that ended the life of William Bonney and the significates of this document in the United States. In the document published by Garrett, it describes the events that led to the death of Billy the kid, an important legend during the Plain and Indian Wars. It illustrates the history of the myth. In the document, it informs the reader that, "Billy the Kid was born in the slums of New York City in 1859." Further, very few information about his background was given. • 3. A Short Story : The Story Of My Life I always knew that one day, my worst fear would be realized....yet when it did come, I was no where near ready to accept it. I understand psychologically that every one and every animal dies... that's life. But, the heart only feels loss and pain when someone to whom you have given your life to, dies. I say someone as though I'm speaking about a person, but, I speak of Gizzy, my 13 year old adorable long–haired Chihuahua, who to me, was every bit as much a fun–loving, heart–beating, personality–filled happy–go–lucky human being. I don't know what it feels like to lose a child but I can only fathom that the pain I felt and continue to feel is a close second to that. I could not imagine my life without my son in it and I'm finding my life without Gizzy at times, overwhelming even after 6 months. Gizzy passed away on April 20, 2017 and my life has not been the same since. At first, I could not function– at all. Richard, my love, had to pick up the pieces of life around me even though he himself was hurting from the loss. Richard wanted nothing to do with Gizzy when I first met him but, as was the personality of this little being, he captured Rich's heart in a way that completely changed him forever. The love they had for each other was deep and every bit as mutual. It was at this time that I understood why I loved this man. He completely got me. Gizzy had had a bad year. We knew he had a heart murmur and he was taking medication to help his heart function better but when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Descriptive Essay On The Haunted House Two boys were walking on the campus of Bridgeville Academy. They were each armed with a pile of books that threatened to topple onto the well–worn paved parking lot of the school. They turned out of the campus and began walking down the sidewalk towards home. The air was chilly and the leaves were beginning to shed their emerald green gowns for scarlet, gold, and, fiery orange. The boys were in good spirits and they walked briskly down the walkway. Before long, the houses had started to get bigger and farther apart. "Oh, no," one of the boys groaned as he stopped in his tracks. "What is it, Jeremy? the second boy asked. "It's the Haunted Mansion, Dave," the boy named Jeremy whispered nervously. A few houses from where they stood was the house that many people called "The Haunted Mansion". They knew that it wasn't really haunted, but it was hard to tell when you looked at it. The old fashioned brick house seemed ready to topple over at any moment. The large yard was overrun with weeds. The windows and doors were boarded over and the beat up front door was half hidden by weeds. "I almost forgot about this place," Dave said as he walked closer to the gloomy house. "Dave, where are you going!" Jeremy exclaimed as he sprinted to catch up with his friend. Dave had stopped right in front of the house and stared at the unwelcoming windows. The inky black windows made the house appear as if it were a slumbering dragon awaiting its prey. The soot covered brick house ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Descriptive Essay Familiar Shores The waves were tauntingly calm that day, after the hurricane of fast–paced incidents that uprooted John's life from the very beginning. He didn't think he would have changed it, even if he had a choice. He pulled his brimmed hat further over his droopy eyes and squirmed into a more comfortable position on the makeshift hammock, recalling the very first day. John had found himself conflicted. His hands tugged through his rapidly greying hair, peppered areas of darkness disappearing more and more each day. He had never been the type of man to turn down any opportunity to aid his niece, his only remaining family, but diving to the ocean floor? He hadn't touched his equipment in over two decades. It had been stashed away, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They laughed, and grappled playfully, daring each other to venture close to the weathered man, gathering the courage to venture close enough so that John could see the dry salt in their scraggly hair. The elders watched on carefully from the sanctuary of their homes, exuding mild hostility. John was unaffected. He had a solid goal in mind, pulsing with determination. John pulled on his diving equipment but with every turn of his back, he heard frantic scuttling and finding the source, he was met with the sight of a retreating back kicking up sand and a handful of tropical fruits left on his bag. After a while, the pile grew into a small mountain, strays rolling on the sand. Tailed by the children, he eyed the dangerous rocky areas, further away from calmer waters. • 6. Descriptive Essay The fresh grass tickled his sticky body as he crushed the living daylights out of them. Beneath the sun's gaze, he laid still while absorbing the beauty of the outside world. It was perfect. "Run," an elderly man shouted at his students, interrupting his photosynthesis moment. "Off the ground, Junho." Junho's eyes unlocked, his vision flooded with the cotton clouds and baby blue sky. The lively looking grass unfolded as Junho hustled to his rowdy coach. The day was too perfect. Preparing himself to run off with much confidence, rain broke out, abruptly stopping him as he made his first step to sprint. Junho took his eyes off the finish line and fixed his stare upon the upsetting clouds. Leaving the watered–downed field, Junho heard a faint constant beeping as he rushed inside the academic building. Changing out of his wet clothes, Junho re–entered his classroom wearing his gray school uniform. Taking a seat at his wrinkled wooden desk, he stared at the window with his head cradled in ... • 7. Sharky In Stephen Mcpherson's 'The Seafarer' By Conor... In our daily lives, we face various pressures that can ultimately result in bad decision–making, and poor judgement. However, it is not these pressures that prevent us from becoming a better version of ourselves, but our denial to acknowledge and learn from the trial that prevents our change. In "The Seafarer", Conor McPherson illustrates this idea through the character of Sharky. The Irish play, set in a coastal town in northern Dublin, revolves around the main character, "Sharky" who moves back to Dublin in order to help his blind brother, Richard. Through characterization, McPherson shows that salvation is possible for people like Sharky because the main character has the potential to change and to become a better version of himself. It is shown through acceptance of responsibility, change and bettering his relationship with Nicky. Firstly, Sharky's acceptance of responsibility reunited him with his brother. When Sharky and Ivan chat in the living room, we learn that the main character has recently returned from County Clare to his home town, he says: "But I had to get back up because . . . (signals "Richard")" (McPherson 14). Here, McPherson demonstrates that the main reason of Sharky's return to Dublin is because of his brother who has recently gone blind. The act of taking care of someone demonstrates a sense of responsibility and love towards that individual. In contrast, when Sharky argues with Richard in the living room, in front of everyone, he says: "Did you want ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The films "Coming to America" by John Landis and "The Gods Must Be Crazy" by Jamie Uys have similarities and differences according to the meaning of Africa. The accounts do seem to differ in that Murphy describes machine gun fire being responsible for Tipton's death while Hollen suggests it was a sniper . Graham supports Murphy's assertion of machine gun fire being the cause of Tipton's death, as he places the blame not on a sniper in the house, but on the machine gun nest which Murphy storms . Meanwhile, David Smith, writer of The Price of Valor, sides with Hollen, claiming a single sniper shot was responsible for Tipton's death. Two schools of thought appeared in the literature about what occurred and there seems no way of reconciling them. However, Smith claims that Murphy said that it was a sniper, not a machine gun, contradicting the narrative of To Hell and Back. • 29. The Valiant Five The Famous Five, or Valiant Five, was not only made up of five strong, independent women, but five role models. It started with Emily Murphy, a bright woman from Cookstown, Ontario, who was determined to make a difference for women all over Canada. She enlisted four other activists, Nellie McClung, Louise McKinney, Henrietta Edwards, and Irene Parlby, who would help her on her journey to get women legally recognised as "persons" in Canada. Although the five made history together, they each have very unique backstories and each of these women have helped to make a significant difference in the lives of women for many years to come. Emily Murphy was a women's rights activist and a feminist. She made history by becoming the first female judge in Canada for the British Empire, which opened numerous opportunities for other women. She challenged the idea that women were more than just housewives. Before this movement, though, she was a writer, best known for her humour and great concern for the welfare of women and children. After Murphy got married, her and her husband took a trip to the countryside, where she encountered a women who had been left in poverty due to her husband selling her family farm that she had been working on for some 18 years. Audie Murphys Legend The first sentence of Audie Murphy's biography reads, "Audie Leon Murphy was a legend in his own time" ("Sergeant Audie Murphy Award," 2015), a seemingly fitting introduction for one of the bravest combat soldiers in our nation's history. Never the less, I believe it simply does not do him the justice he earned. Audie Murphy was not just a legend in his own time; he is a legend today, and remains a legend of the future. Many people recognize his famed name and know him to be a war hero. Nevertheless, most are not fully educated on the "legend" that was, is, and always will be Audie Murphy. However, Curvy Kate, a lingerie brand, recreates an image using models of all shapes and sizes mocking the Victoria's Secrets slogan. Workers in these factories often earned more in wages than many unskilled labor positions around the country. As news of the high –wage jobs in the up–and–coming motor city made its way around the country, migrants began to flood the city in hopes of a better life. Overcrowding among blacks and the have–nots of society was a harsh reality in Detroit's inner city ghetto, which went by the name of Black Bottom. Even fewer would've thought that a farm boy from Texas would become one of the greatest heroes of the war. Audie Murphy was by all accounts a nobody. He and his family lived a quiet life, sticking to themselves and their farms. A young Murphy would simply help outside with the farm work, almost never wanting to be indoors. With the help of his sister, Corrine, he successfully enlisted in the military at the age of 17. He was given basic training, which he completed with ease. Audie Murphy's first war experience was in North Africa during the Allied offensive to remove Axis forces from the top of Africa. North Africa was a very important strategic point for both forces. If the Allies were successful in their push for control, it would be a very important starting point for an invasion of Fascist Italy, and ultimately Nazi Germany.
