Disadvantages Of Paid Media
Question One Based on what we learn in class, the definition for owned media is the media channel that you own entirely and have full control
over it. For example, your company's official website or your person Facebook page. Paid media is the method of promoting content such as
product, movie or idea through the internet. The reason why people that will want to use paid media was because they hope by using it, it will
help to create more exposure and view online, the endgame for paid media is to generate more earned media and drives traffic toward owned
media. For example, the famous blogger posts a blog about how excellent this product is and later people start to look into this unique product. Or
social media promotional through great twitter. The earned media is the online way of word of mouth through used of, shares, reposts, reviews,
recommendations, or content review by 3rd party sites. For example, the Yelp review and movie recommendations by 3rd party website.
According to article "Social Media: The More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same," The social media analytics firm Shareablee
provided strong evidence to show that growing organic reach is still possible in May 2014 with the publication of a widely circulated white paper.
Based on my understanding of this issue and what is in the article, the reason why organic reach is still possible on Twitter was because of "Twitter
feed is unfiltered by an algorithm" (Gelles 7) and because of that, Twitter can't control what the users can see, no like Facebook's users. In other
hands, the article also said that even though organic reach was still possible, but "At the same time, the continuing evolution of the major social
networking platforms is making it increasingly difficult to achieve mass reach solely through purely organic and earned media strategies" (Gelles 7).
It means that even though used of organic reach can still make mess reach, but as the study says, it becomes more challenging to use purely organic
reach as a possible media strategy. In the end, my opinion is that organic reach was still a possible media strategy, but not in every case.
Question Two Based on the article "Digital Natives vs. Digital Immigrants", the

The Importance Of Social Media In Education
Social media can be more beneficial than harmful in the educational field. When it comes to social media there is no doubt that the Digital Native are
the experts of the subject, they are the ones who grew up with the technology in hand. Our generation thinks and acts different ways than generations
before. Technology is now forcing the Academic department to change lecture style class. We use social media to communicate with people we love,
to share with people our thoughts and also to share a piece of our life. College students never consider using social media for education. Twitter is one
of the many social media sites that when its use for academic purposes helps students be more engage and get higher GPA.
Digital Natives recall information different than Digital immigrants.
According to Don Tapscott ", this is a generation that has different brains, they process information differently, they learn differently and overall this is
for the better". The Digital Immigrant generation is a passive recipient (Tapscott) while, on the other hand, the generation Z, are active recipients.
Digital Native can read, organize ideas, learn while hearing music, researching and composing our thoughts all while the TV is on for background.
Although other generations find it hard to believe, Generation "Z" manage to multitask everything and concentrate while doing it. This was a daily
fight in my house, my dad didn't want us to do homework while listening to music, he used to tell us that you do not fully concentrate when you are
listening to something, while on the other hand, I can't do math without hearing to music. There are many opinions regarding were ever this statement
is true. People have different ways to study, personally I truly believe we can multitask, I can do my homework while I'm hearing music.
Lecture classes are not useful and reading the complete book is no longer necessary. According to Don Tapscott "model of pedagogy is wrong it's
based on the lecture, a one–way model. For students who learn differently". Go to class listen the hour and 2o mins, take notes, read and learn by
yourself outside the course and you are good to go; that's what students are expected to do, memorize. We don't actually

Reaction Paper On Millennials
Right after watching Simon Sinek's interview about millennials, I began to ponder on how right he was, and how wrong he was. I quickly came to
the conclusion that Sinek's description on millennials is a very big stereotype. His views on millennials definitely apply to a lot of people, and he is
spot on about the millennial generation being more entitled than the last. One big mistake he makes on his presumptions is highlighted by the
Huffington post, " Random individuals like Simon Sinek start from a presumption that there's something wrong with the generation today, when:
Right and wrong are perceptions made by individuals, not strict definitions." Simon Sinek's opinions apply to only certain individuals and he does
not take in part the ethnic and race differences in the parenting structure which he accuses of being a big blame on why the millennial generation is
struggling. I myself do not see myself as a millennial and I especially do not see myself in the perspective that Sinek sees millennials. When he talks
about parenting strategies being a big cause for the entitlement millennials have, I immediately disagreed. My parents were not that way at all and I
feel many children did not grow up with those type of parents. I know for a fact the Hispanic parents don't teach their kids to be entitled, in fact, they
teach the complete opposite. From personal experience and that of many of my friends and relatives, we are taught to work hard and to value what we
have because

Throughout generation Z, I realize within the world how attached humans get to other humans. But personally, I believe in starting over. I believe that
change is certainly a good thing. I believe that letting go is beneficial. However, I believe that moving on does not mean forgetting. Its far too often
that people fall victim to things that are tearing us into pieces. Wheather it is a coping method; since often situations leave us so shattered, we as
humans find it a hell of a lot easier to sweep our pieces up rather than put them back together. Even sometimes putting them back together doesn't
necessarily mean finding the original pieces, but rather simply finding the "right" pieces. No matter the condition, I believe in innovation. The most
universal feeling in today's world: confusion. Our lives are changing so often and so quickly that in flash... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

piece, with God granting me my greatest years still ahead, and my hero looking down on me powering me through those unreliable friends, the bad
grades, and heartbreaking relationships. When you lose someone who means so much to you and you love them endlessly, it's quite simple to let go

Brand And History Of Pacific Sunwear Essay
Brand and History
Pacific Sunwear, more commonly referred to as "Pac Sun" is currently one of the top retailers of men 's and women 's apparel in the streetwear and
action sports clothing business. The original Pac Sun was opened in 1980 by Tom Moore in California as a shop that catered to surfers from the
area. As time went on and the 'surfer look ' faded out, Pac Sun restructured its image in the '90s as more of a casual apparel retailer for young men,
and eventually ventured to include women 's clothing as well as footwear ("History of Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc.", n.d.). Consisting of mostly
mall installations in addition to a number of freestanding stores, Pac Sun continued business at an adequate rate through the 2000 's but seems to
faltering as of late, as they have filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy as of this past April (Woolf, 2016).
Product Category
Pac Sun is currently in the business of young men and women 's apparel. Their apparent age range could most likely be narrowed down to between 18
and 28, making them Generation Y (millennials) as well as Generation Z. Current product lines are mostly indicative of what one refers to as
'streetwear ' for the men and a 'bohemian ' vibe for the women 's line.
Sales Venue
Pac Sun 's utilizes the brick–n–click sales venue. According to Pac Sun 's corporate website, the brand operated 609 stores as of September 2015. In
2014 Pac Sun launched an initiative to increase their current ratio of 7% of sales being online

Generation Z Students In Education
EFFECTIVENESS OF USING LEARNER'S MANUAL TO THE iGENERATION GRADE 10 STUDENTS IN THE PUBLIC
SECONDARY SCHOOL
I. INTRODUCTION
The world is fast changing. Everyone is capitalizing on technology. Every sector is technologically–driven and this goes to education sector as well.
Because of technology, teaching methodology has to adapt so that it can makes sense to the Generation Z students. In general, the Generation Z or
simply iGeneration are those born between 1995 – 2014 (Randstad, 2016). The iGeneration craves for regular and technology–enhanced learning
opportunities. They look for educational opportunities that use visually enhanced methods of teaching (Cooks, 2015). They need to experience change
or innovative teaching methods in order to have their attention. "Catching the attention of the millennials can be difficult" (Tsuruta, 2015) how much
more to the iGeneration. According to the study conducted by University of Illinois Springfield (2015) showed that Generation Z has attention span of
8 seconds only to a video or to other learning materials. This is a great challenge to the teachers of the iGeneration Grade 10 students taking up Science.
Every teacher has its own way of selecting and developing a technique for teaching and may draw various experiences to get the attention of the
students. This is called teaching methodology or pedagogy. The teaching methodology facilitates the learning process of the students. The students

Gay Rights In Generation Z
Generation Z is being hailed as the true "WE Generation". Social media has allowed them to connect and organize in ways previous generations
couldn't, creating a youth culture focused on equality and social change. However, this focus on equality doesn't always extend to the Lesbian Gay
Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) community. While Gen Z enjoys following stories aboutgay rights, they aren't particularly interested in the issues
facing the LGBT community (Seemiller & Grace, 2016, p. 132). Heterosexual youth simply aren't aware of how dangerous it is to be gay or
transgender in America, and believe that supporting marriage equality is the paramount of acceptance (Seemiller & Grace, 2016, p. 116). LGBT youth
are still struggling with peer victimization and the resulting mental health issues due to the ignorance society, and Gen Z, holds towards gay rights.
According to the 2015 GLSEN National School Climate Survey by Kosciw, Greytak, Giga, Villenas, and Danischewski (2016), 57.6% of LGBThigh
school students felt unsafe at school because of their sexual orientation, and 43.3% because of their gender expression. Students frequently heard other
students use anti–gay phrases and homophobic slurs, and over two thirds had been verbally harassed about their sexuality, yet the majority never
reported the discrimination they faced (Kosciw et al. 2016). Students were embarrassed by their experiences, feared that telling someone would make
their situation worse, and in many cases, didn't

These, of course, align with some of the key values towards a unique customer service that Lyft possesses and can capitalize on.
One of Lyfts' differentiating factor is it prides itself on possessing the most social experience there is for a rideshare company. As the American
population continues to become more educated, their consumer behavior has shifted to where they are more conscious of corporation impacts to the
environment they live in or hope their children will reside in. Lyft through the ridesharing platform where ridesharing can be argued reduces
greenhouse gas via reducing car densities on the road, they can capitalize on it and target more environment conscious customers. Furthermore, Lyft can
continue to strengthen their commitment to contributing to reduce negative environment impacts pertaining to cars and court the next generation of
customers after the millennials, generation Z which are expected to continue to become more educated and environment conscious.
Another target Lyft should capitalize on are cities/towns that have profiles centered on community orientation and social bonds. Lyft mission can easily

The Misconceptions Of Generation Z : Social Media
Generation Z
For Generation Z there is no actual memory of black and white tv or a world without social media, it is all history and stories we have been told, this
makes us unique compared to past generations. Every generation has a turning point or an event that defines and shapes them. For Millennials, this
event is September 11 of 2001, therefore, for the youngest generation this is part of history and we are not able to comprehend how millennials relate to
this incident. For us, our even is the digital age, we are interlaced with social media and the internet in a way that past generations are not. There are
many misconceptions regarding Generation Z, we are seen as social media obsessed and disinterested in life (Abramovich), these stereotypes make it
hard for others to value the qualities and talents we have. It has become easy for adults to judge Generation Z because they don't relate to us. We are
considered by far the most diverse generation (Kanae), however, for older generations, this comes as an inconvenience and we are titled as rebels
without them looking further into our psyche. Regardless of this, Generation Z is considered smarter with money, more future and goal oriented and
are determined to contribute and influence society more than any past generation (The Center for Generational Kinetics).
If you ask an adult what they think about Generation Z some of them might confuse us with millennials and most would agree that Gen Z individuals
are lazy and unaware of their surroundings. Older generations often try to fit new generations into boxes depending on their behavior pattern but fail
to determine the nature of these behaviors. However, If adults and older generation had as many activities and concerns to manage all the time they
would understand better the struggles this generation undergoes. Each Generation has been called lazy by their older generation at some point; which
leads to thinking that maybe generations are being labeled lazy not because of their acts of laziness but because of the errors they make as young teens
trying to manage time (Reno). Regardless of these stereotypes, Generation Z are hard–working and caring individuals whose aspirations and full
schedules prove to be

Generation Z : The Most Connected, Classy And Educated...
Generation Z in the Work Place Characteristics/Intro The most connected, classy and educated generation ever is known as Gen Z. Gen Z is part of a
generation that is global, social, visual and technological. They are the teens, the tweens, the youth and the young adults of our society. A Generation
is generally described through the years of birth. For example Generation Z is 1995 to 2009 and therefore if you are born within these times, you are
considered a part of the Generation. Generation Z is about 2 billion of the world's population and they don't just characterize the future, they are
creating it. Unfortunately Gen Z individuals have been brought into the world during the times of crisis, terrorism and the global downturn and climate
change. However fortunately study has shown that Generation Z is assisting human resource managers in many areas such as employment, and the
evolution of the work industry. Like the unfortunate era they're living in, there is a positive turnaround where the students of today, employees and
consumers of tomorrow, are experiencing the workforce for the first time and through this experience they have found and displayed new ways that
human resourcing can be publically viewed. It has often been argued that Generation Z kids are irresponsible and lack discipline, however when it
comes to employment, many managers have agreed that this Generation is the best. As Generation Y is lacking down, line managers are preparing to

Stereotypes And Misconceptions Of Generation Z
Stereotypes and misconceptions are seen wherever a person travels, wherever a person lives, and wherever a person sleeps––basically they are
everywhere we go. Stereotypes are based on truths, that exaggerates a group and society bases the stereotype of that group. While misconceptions
differ from stereotypes, misconceptions form from having stereotypes, are based from untruths and that group are incorrectly viewed by error.
Stereotypes exist in order to monetize certain groups and strip them of their pride, not only are stereotypes negative, but it can be positive.
Misconceptions exist due to the fact, that people do not have the level of education or the skills of critical thinking and rationalization and
automatically assume without knowing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The different types of misconceptions about Generation Z is that teenagers tend to be careless about life and teenagers are unaware of the
surroundings in society. One major stereotype that society tends to associate with Generation Z is about social media and how teenagers are addicted
to these "contraptions" as a way to isolate themselves and hid the free will of expression. Society tends to confuse the meaning of stereotype and
misconception and how both contain different meaning, due to the lack of education to society. Stereotypes tend to come from a truth of a group that
has been exaggerated while misconceptions develop from stereotypes, but in no means does a misconception contain any type of truth. Both differ
from one another since stereotypes have some sort of truth behind their criticism versus a misconception which is completely false. Generation Z has
dealt with different types of criticism that are either a stereotype of misconception that has given this group a bad name and are negatively perceived
by society. Generation Z in reality is benefiting the way society's tradition has changed over time and how Generation Z is making a positive impact on

The development of an obsession with utopia is perilous, as perfection is unattainable. For Gatsby, this obsession " had gone....beyond everything.

similar obsession caused by social media. Although created to be a means of communication, social media has evolved into an addictive force.
Generation Z wakes up to cold screens in search of any form of happiness, no matter how fleeting, and continues to do so until they fall asleep. People

Technology And Technology
With technology in the palm of our hands, why should we sit down and listen to boring reporters talk about an uninteresting topic that would not
impact one's life? As technology advances further convenience and opportunity for many are provided in the American society, however, more issues
are developing as shown from Trump's decision to end DACA known as the "Dreamers" while technology is becoming more complex.Generation Z,
recognized for their technology involvement, has the ability to make a large impact on our society. With that being said, generation Z needs to engage
in their local governments as much as they are involved in their cell phones. Local government makes the overall decision for their municipal district
in order to maintain peace, order, and good governance. If generation Z including millennials want their voice to be heard, getting involved by voting
and taking actions like peaceful protest allows their voice heard by their local government. In addition, the previous generations should adapt to
generation Z's environment by including technology and social media into their daily lives in order to not make the younger generations feel like a
failure but instead get them interested and engaged in whats occurring in their world.

Views about Generation Z
Technology is not all to blame for the stereotypes about Generation Z. Despite the negative comments about Generation Z being lazy and unaware,
they are not at all. In fact, because most of them are technologically inclined and virtually updated, they are not apathetic, they're just being teenagers
who were raised in a different environment. This is why there is such a thing as generations in this world. If there weren't any changes in the world,
we wouldn't even be able to tell if a new generation has come. Every generation has its benefits for a better and more advanced living.
In your article a parent of a Prospect student said "Compared to when I was growing up, I think that in some ways my daughter's generation is more
unaware of what's going on the world. ... I don't think they're apathetic, though, I think they just have different priorities like their cell phones and
Facebook." I believe the last part of what she said is right. We do have other priorities like the social network sites and our phones, bbm–ing one
another. On the other hand, the fact that we are unaware of what's going on in the world is completely wrong. I think the way parents think about this
generation is very close–minded. They're unaware of the good facilities these technologies provide us to stay in touch with the world. They are still
adhering to past habits and methods that they are unable to let go. It is now possible for us to obtain any information in a span of a few seconds and a

Negative Effects Of Social Media On Generation Z
Professor Joanne Simpson wrote in her article "Multitasking State of Mind", "When [Gen Z is] not connected, they don't know quite what to do with
themselves."(Par 17) Generation Z has been attracted to social media in a way that is has made them addicted to it and also sleep deprived. Lack of
communication with other human beings however, is another negative effects of social media in accordance with Generation Z. Social Media affects
Generation Z in a positive way by how it is used educating young children and giving the teens the potential to improve the many practical skills.
Social media has been a big part of people's lives since the mid 2000s and it is affecting Generation Z both negatively and positively. Generation Z
is addicted to social media because it is the first thing they worry when they wake up. They pick up their phones to see what people posted in the
morning, the afternoon, and the evening. Dr. Helen Driver, a somnologist (with means the study of sleep), explains, "The explosion of social media
and people staying on devices for longer – and taking them to bed with them – is a huge problem". Social media has effected Generation Z's by sleep
because the light is from the electronics which interferes with sleep. Not only does social media affect the quality of sleep but, the quantity of sleep
too. The next morning, they only got a few hours of sleep and they do not feel well both physically and mentally. If someone has issues with turning off
their electronic devices in the evening, then they should dim the lights or and turn the power off.
Social media can affect Generation Z negatively by how they can have a lack of communication between human beings. Lack of human
communication provokes how people are not visible of showing their verbal indications by using the right form of body language. Verbal
communication is how normal people speak in words and by the messages that are spoken. Talking to their peers is appropriate to how we use it in
traditional awards to everyday conversations. By not using a lot of human contact, the people of Generation Z use the incorrect way to use words or
have long sentences to use in their judgements and ideas. Body language, a way not to use communication

The Age Of The Middle Class
The whole idea of teenager came during the mid 1920's also known as the prosperity decade. This was a time when everything seemed to be going
right for the middle class americans. The economy was booming and for the white middle class things appeared to be going quite well. The theory
behind teenagers was to create a grace period between childhood and adulthood, in which an individual was able to learn and grow from their
experiences. But as the years progress the ease into adulthood started to become more of a steep cliff rather than the gradual incline (ushistory.org). As
a teenager, I believe that the teenage community is being stereotyped as a lazy and irresponsible generation perceived by other older generations, but
that stereotype is not true. It is illogical to compare one group to another solely based on out of date ideals. The way we have analyzed teen brains is a
correlation that has yet to be proven. II. Every generation grows up with different obstacles which cannot be compared to other generations because
every person has a different background no matter who they identify as. Each generation is separated by the events that happened during their lifetime,
that is the whole reason we separate generations in the first place to distinguish them. In the August 2014 Huffington Post Article, "generations Z

'Fast and Furious'. Not only is this phrase the title of an incredibly successful, action–packed film, but it also briefly outlines the stereotypical traits
associated with those in Generation Z. People in Generation Z in the Western world, which today range from around 11 to 20 years of age, have lived
their entire lives in a technologically advanced society where mountains of information are at their fingertips. Due to the instantaneousness of current
technology, Gen–Zers expect everything to be immediate, making them notorious for their impatience. This cutting–edge technology also means that

Three of these societal influences are the media (body image), money and gender stereotypes.
The media is defined by the Google Dictionary (2014) as "the main means of mass communication" and encompasses the internet, radio, newspaper,
television etc. Due to recent advancements in technology, society can now be even more easily influenced by the media. Prior to the existence of the
mass media, our ideas of beauty were restricted to what we saw in our own communities. We were not told by the media that women must have tiny
waists and tan skin, and men must be tall with giant muscles to be good–looking, acceptable even. Through social networking sites, advertisements,
films etc. the media bombards us with clips and images of these 'stunning' people, gradually manipulating Generation Z's sense of what is beautiful and
healthy. The age bracket that Gen–Zers are currently in (11–20 years old) makes them especially susceptible to the media and what you supposedly
must look like to be pretty.
The media exploits Generation Z's interconnectedness and impressionability and uses it to it's own avail, because all the media cares about is making
money. If making the models on clothing websites size 6 as apposed to size 16 sells more goods, then they will do so. If it is thought that a movie
with a young, white, stick–thin female as the protagonist will be more popular, then they will cast a person with those characteristics. Not only that,

The Homeland Generation. The Post–Millennials Name is Now Official
The White House recently released a report where they labeled the youngest generation the "Homeland Generation. A storm of speculations

claimed the White House took the name out of thin air. Others accused the government of deliberately spreading shivers of Orwellian terror. Others
again implied the White House took the name from the Showtime political series with the same name; not bothering to find out the generational

When removed from social theory, generational nicknames have an uncanny tendency to be launched right in time for the release of a new gadget,
new report or a new TED talk. Nobody expects a baby to live up to its name, something baby Lucifer and little Havoc will be pleased to learn. But
generations are different. Naming them before we learn their true character traits is tantamount to label a piece of art that has not yet been completed.
Creative wordsmiths will continue to use new monikers; at least until this young generation one day decides to name itself. This youngest generation
is already rich with names, yet so poorly understood as a cohort of more than tiny consumers. Over the last few years at least half a dozen suggestions
from the plain Generation Z, to the more specific iGeneration, Plurals, Posts or Wii Generation have been suggested. I believe lack of scope in the
underlying research is why these suggestions seem myopic to the field of study or even anachronistic. At least to futurists who are used to thinking of
the future as more complex than mere extensions of the present. These names run the risk of becoming naГЇve predictions if the underlying
assumptions behind the forecasts giving logic to their name won't hold through. For example, the name iGeneration presumes tomorrow's youngsters

Characteristics Of The Millennial Generation
Review of Literature
Every generation has unique characteristics, attitudes, values, and beliefs which influence how they view the world. Significant life events that occur
at critical stages of development can also influence and shape each generation. Homelanders, Digital Natives, iGeneration, Plurals, and Generation Z
are all names associated with the newest generation. Although there is some debate about when the millennial generation ended and this new
generation began, most researchers agree with a mid to late 1990's start. For the purposes of this study, this generation will be referred to as Generation
Z (Gen Z), born between 1995 and 2012 (Stillman & Stillman, 2017). Significant events that have shaped and influenced this generation are terrorism,
economic recession, racial unrest, global competition, and social and ideological pluralism (Elmore, 2015) (White, 2017).
According to White (2017), Gen Z is growing up in what is considered the first truly post–Christian generation. In light of this new reality, the church
must rethink its strategy in order to engage and transform this generation. Adolescence is a time of discovering identity and questioning of one's
beliefs and values. Unfortunately, outdated social and religious traditions have left Gen Z with a feeling of meaningless and have failed to provide
purpose or a sense of belonging (Verma & Maria, 2006). This study will measure the spiritual practices and generational characteristics of Gen Z and

Generation Z By David Mccullough Essay
David McCullough
.David McCullough's speech and criticism of "Generation Z", the youth of the 21st century is justified and insightful. "Generation Z" allows special to
become a purposeless term, prefers to win rather than achieve, and "Generation Z" is obsessed with superficial growth rather than internal prosperity.
Mr McCullough Jr criticises the generation's uselessness in terms of wanting to be "special," he does so by showing why meaningless accomplishment
undermines actual major achievements. From everyone receiving the same participation trophy, which undermines the winners 1st place trophy, stated
on June 5, 2012 line 1 to 2 paragraphs 5. "You see, if everyone is special, then no one is. If everyone gets a trophy, trophies become meaningless. In our
unspoken but not so subtle Darwinian competition with one another–which springs, I think, from our fear of our own insignificance, a subset of our
dread of mortality." The ideology of equality in consideration to achievement, is harmful to society in every way. It undermines serious achievement
which prompts good men to stop wanting to achieve anything. It would put the world at an intellectual standstill were nothing new is ever made but
repackaged and sold at a higher price. Which brings the question as to why generation z isn't special, it is due to their narcissism and lack of will to
accomplish. Generation Z millennials have developed an utter curse for seeing accolades more than actual achievement or

Stereotypes Of Generation Z
When hearing the term "generation Z" lots of different thoughts and stereotypes probably come to mind. People born in the years of 1995 to 2010
just missed the age where technology took over childhood, yet still made it to remember few historical events such as 9/11. Since the technology
boom, Gen Z humans have many more resources than ever before. With the whole world ahead of them, they can go on to accomplish many things as
long as they get passed the negative stereotypes. Generation Z has been labeled lazy, impatient, and entrepreneurial. Although most of the stereotypes
are negative, there is some positive in this generation.
One of the many stereotypes Generation Z is referred as is "lazy". In an article posted by The Huffington Post, it is stated that "Gen Z is often portrayed
as less engaged in politics; they have short attention spans and don't care about the weighty issues that confront their generation and the nation; and
they're more interested in technology and celebrity than staying active in their communities and schools. (Micoleta)" Because this generation grew up
with google at the touch of their fingers and with smartphones and other hand–held devices, they can search anything at any given time without even
moving. Although some might consider this lazy, others might argue that it is resourceful. I agree with this lazy stereotype because I have seen
first–hand how it has affected society. Online shopping has taken a huge hit; people can order anything from

Generation, Mature/Silent, Baby Boomers, Generation Z
Generation's Responsibilities
Generation, as defined by the Oxford Dictionary, refers to all of the people born and living at about the same time. There are six living generations in
America. The GI generation, Mature/Silent, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y or Millenniums, and Generation Z. People from these
generations are all different. Every generation has distinctive likes, aversions, and traits. A person's birth date does not always match his generation's
characteristics. However, as a typical group, they have similarities. A generation has responsibilities to the one which precedes because they are the
ones who have been left with problems such as, poverty, rapid climate change, international terrorism, and are responsible ... Show more content on

Most atmosphere warming patterns are likely because of human activities. Since the Industrial Revolution, the burning of coal, oil, and natural gas has
emitted tons of billions of CO2, and this is still in the atmosphere. Global climate change will influence individuals and the earth in many ways. Some
of these impacts are the loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves. According to The American Lung Association,
"The annual, national air quality "report card" found that 166 million Americans live with unhealthful levels of air pollution, putting them at risk for
premature death and other serious health effects like lung cancer, asthma attacks, cardiovascular damage, and developmental and reproductive harm".
One's generation is able to inform people what the consequences of rapid climate change are. In this way, people will feel concerned about it and stop
doing what causes more damage to the atmosphere. This is possible by doing campaigns, meetings, and sharing information through social media about
the consequences and what people can do to stop rapid climate change. It is time to take action towards this serious problem that affects

Public Management Z : Core Characteristics Of The Z...
Public Management Z
Core Characteristics
Schroer (2015) identifies the Z generation as those individuals who were born between 1995–2015 and approximates their populace in the sum of 23
million. Cseh–Papp et. al. (2017), state "they are the smallest generation who were brought up in smaller families as they are mostly the children of
the mothers in their 30's or 40's who postponed setting up a family because of their careers" (p 124). Similar to their generational forerunners this
generation also experienced social variances, which included:
2008 financial crisis and subsequent national recession and global economic crisis
Growing income gaps and shrinking middle class
Reared during times of war as a result of global conflicts. "September 11, 2001 (Tulgan, 2012). These attacks eventually led to the war in Afghanistan,
which persists to this day. The Iraq War also started in 2003" (Turner, 2015, p. 104).
Turner (2015) describe this cohort as the first global generation due to their constant access to digital technologies since birth. Illin (2014), summarizes
the core characteristics that the Z–Generation brings to the labor force by noting that they are "characterized by a high degree of mobility, universal
values, and virtualization" (n.p.). To further elaborate, this generation prefers building links by principles of network rather than hierarchy and has
employment preferences related to "information technologies, economics, and the humanities" (Illin, 2014,

Digital And Digital Immigrants By Marc Presky
The article "Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants" by Marc Presky, appears in the book On the Horizon. The article asserts that due to the the anacrusis
of the digital age, this generation has changed dramatically, thus, it is no longer possible to reach them through obsolete teaching methods, as it comes
close to teaching them in a foreign language. In order to solve this issue, Presky suggests that we need to update our methodology in order to fit today's
needs better.
In the beginning of the article, Prensky implies that student have changed dramatically, thus, are no longer the correct audience for our education
system. He goes on by explaining that this change is not exactly a diversification, as in clothes, slang or the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants. Page. 2 – 2001), as he emphasises it. To furthermore clarify this term, he names many examples such as "bringing
people physically into your office to see an interesting web site" (Prensky, Mark. Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants. Page. 2 – 2001) instead of
"sending them an email" (Prensky, Mark. Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants. Page. 2 – 2001).
Prensky complicates this matter when he embeds it into school routine. He endorses that to digital natives it feels like they are being taught by
foreigners who have no wrap their head around English language yet.
However, this is a dilemma that only starts, rather than ends, at the lack of communication. By introducing another example, he disputes that there is
also a quarrel in the way of thinking in general. Digital natives, for example, believe that studying should be fun and could easily be done, while, for
example, watching TV. This Digital Immigrants, however, deny up to this day; simply because they were not capable of doing all those things, while
they were young.
He then reminds us that, in spite of prevailing belief, one cannot simply presume that students function the same way their teachers did when they were
in school. As a result of this, he enters the debate whether "students should go back to their old ways or if teachers should have to learn this new
language" (Prensky, Mark. Digital Natives, Digital

Millennial Vs Generation Z
Millennial VS Generation Z It is fascinating to see how values in different generations change and how in some ways they remain the same.
Generations are measured at around 20–30 years, they are each given a name and a set of characteristics that the majority of the people born between
those years fit. I was born in 1999 therefore, to some I am considered a millennial and to some I am a Generation Z. I feel like I relate to both
generations on some levels yet at the moment I consider myself a millennial. Starting out with generation Z, they were born after 2001. Many
sources gave me different dates for this generation, but this was the most common answer. Other sources told me generation Z people were born
from 1995 and on. This would put me in between generation Z and a millennial. Generation Z people were born in a time where they don't
remember life before the internet or social media. Social media was made known to me by the 4th grade when my parents allowed me to create a
Facebook profile. I remember a life before social media however, I still had television and video games beforehand. Nowadays social media is
playing a huge part in people's lives. Generation Z is going to be more reliant on social media than any previous generations. This is where many will
get their news from as well. Generation Z people are born having a black president and having same sex marriage as a constitutional right, therefore
many think they will take social issues for granted. There

he should ask his boss ,Howard, for a local office job. Despite Willy's problems at his work he has two other problems at home ,Biff and Happy.

pretty successful he has the same thinking strategy as his father which is "get rich quick. "Happy has everything he could ask for a job, girls and
money, but Happy isn't truly happy. His unhappiness comes from his father always putting him second. If Biff and Happy where to be categorized

many jobs he said, "I spent six or seven years after high school trying to work myself up. Shipping clerk, salesman, business of one kind or another."
This shows how Biff is indecisive on what he wants to do in a career choice. Huff Post Teen says that Generation Z would work at one place of
business then move on to another. Unlike other typical generations who stick to one place work there for a long time then retire. In the article,
Characteristics of the Greatest Generation they quote, "the 41st president of the united states, was a navy air corps pilot who survived after being shot
down during a bombing run on a Japanese target." This proves that unlike Biff generation GI was a committed generation who got the job done.

Generation Z: Why Is The Government Doing Nothing?
Generation Z is the most conservative generation in the last 70 years. They care more about personal freedom, and national security. The liberals
cannot give them what they want. The left side cares more about the world than its own country. They love to help other countries, but generation Z
thinks that we should first solve our problems before trying to help others. According to Ryan, "America is 14 of top 50 countries vulnerable to
cyber–attacks with over 77,000 happening in 2015 alone." This shows how the country is getting weaker and weaker as time passes. The government
should focus more about national security than other less important things. 77,000 cyber–attack in just one year is too much. Why is the government

Similarities and Differences Among Us
The technology was something that was built to help with the progress of the civilization and help people find better and faster resources. Generation
Z, who were born between 1994 and 2010, and tend to use most of the technological resources, have a different set of beliefs and values than the
previous Generation X or our parents because we have not entered the workplace yet. Generation Y are the people who were born between 1978 and
1990. Generation Z is so much more advanced but tends to misuse the technology and it shows how the United States is educationally regressing in
competition with other countries. It should be the other way around, where the United States is rising in the educational field because we have the
resources that are much more advanced than some countries.Even though the technology was built to help progress in a civilization; Generation Z and
Generation Y use it to actually regress in the civilization and some of the reasons could be how generation X contributed to the negative characteristics
found in the Millennial Generation
CHARACTERISTICS ABOUT GENERATIONS
There have been many negative characteristics associated with Millennials and the Generation Z. Some of them are that is hard for us to talk without

Analysis Of 'Move Over, Millennials, Here Comes Generation Z'
People naturally like to generalise over a large group, it puts less stress on our brain. One such generalisation is the generations that people talk
about, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millenials, and Gen Z. In "Move Over, Millennials, Here Comes Generation Z" Alex Williams discusses a possible
outcome of what Gen Z is to be as compared to the Millennials. The article starts by pointing out the different times that millennials were raised in.
The millennials were raised in a time of peace later destroyed by the terrorist attacks in 2001, or more briefly "Theirs is a story of innocence
lost"(Williams). While Gen Z, on the other hand, grew up in this time and had to live with it their whole lives growing up with the recession and the
war on terror.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He says that while Gen Z can take in a lot of information very quickly due to this technological upbringing they also lose interest extremely quickly.
Also, they tend to be more private with this technology than millennials were, rather than posting everything online they are more likely to use
more anonymous apps. This I actually do agree with this point. Most people I know of that is my age gets distracted very easily and anything
requiring a lot of time they generally avoid. This is not true of everyone of course but does represent a lot of the population of this generation from
what I have observed. Whether people are becoming more private that is a different matter entirely. Yes, I believe Gen Z is more private than
millennials but I feel that it is less of a majority than the inattentiveness. I see a lot of people not want to put a lot of their lives online but I also see
many people who do. So this one is harder to really make a good estimate of the majority. Personally, I fit this prediction, I don't like putting my info
on the internet, but I still see a lot of people that don't. Gen Z is later described as not similar to millennials but "'more like their grandparents (or, in
some cases great–grandparents)', Mr.Howe said [who is a researcher and a social trends consultant]"(Williams). They grew up in the same kind of
struggle, them with the Great Depression and Gen Z with the Great Recession.

Reflection Of Engaging Generation Z In The Classroom
"Engaging Generation Z in the Classroom" Reflection Paper
Generation Z Students Are Relatable I enjoyed how the two speakers made us participate in an exercise near the beginning where we were asked to
guess which generation four different quotes came from. Each of these quotes spoke about the youths of the time and essentially how horrible they
were. These sentiments were likely being held by the older generations of the time period. I had given great thought for each of the generations that I
was familiar with and ultimately gave guesses for each of the quotes based on the Silents, Boomers, Xers, and Millennials. It was to my surprise that

Tools to Successfully Engaging Gen. Zs in the Classroom
The workshop also gave us many online tools that we could use to interact with the younger generation. Most of these are interactive ways to reach out
to the class and to get students engaged by using their electronic devices. Not only this, the workshop also provided different ways of engaging the
students in the classroom through active learning techniques. There was an emphasis on making sure that when we teach these students that we should
package the material we teach in bite size pieces so it's not too overwhelming and we do not lose their attention span. Which is effective with any
generation because who wants to hear a lecture for 1–2 hours? We also learned that these students are expecting classes to be effective in career
preparation, interesting, and that their professors are caring.
I will take the active learning techniques like knowledge checks and pair and share techniques to the classroom. As a student I am always more engaged
and learn better when talking with peers or having a discussion about the content. I will also be using some of the technological advice that the two
presenters offered because it's a solid way to get everyone to

Milleneration And Generation Z And The Post-Millennial...
Millennials are defined to have been born somewhere between the mid to late 80s till the early to mid–90s, whereas Generation Z is characterized to
have been born between 1995 till about now. Therein lies a large area for differences between the two generations. I was born on the tail end of 1999
meaning I was technically born in the Gen Z era, but I sometimes see myself relating to Millennials I see online or in mainstream media. I will discuss
both generations and then decide where I most see myself.
Generation Z, the Post–Millennial generation take up a decent sized chunk of the US population. They are also referred to as the iGeneration or Gen
Tech. You rarely hear of this generation as they are usually overshadowed by the previous gen (Millennials). But Gen Z'ers are a group all their own.
George Beall of the Huffington Post states that "Gen Z processes information faster... Thus their attention spans might be significantly lower than
Millennials" but that despite being less focused as compared to Millennials "Gen Z can quickly and efficiently shift between work and play, with
multiple distractions going on in the background". I can personally see myself a little in this, I have a terribly short attention span but I can't really
multitask. Beall also states that "Generation Z desires more independent work environments", implying that they lean more towards entrepreneurial
work. I can't relate to this, I thrive off of at least a little structure, I'm not good in the

Generation Z Vs. Gen Z: Astounding In The US
97% of Generation Z believe they will one day own a home and over 80% say it is the most important part of their adult planning, according to a

digital world, would give up social media for a year and do double the homework if it guaranteed they'd be able to secure housing. In contrast to Gen Z,
statistically, millennials prefer to rent than own. Perhaps the housing bust and foreclosure epidemic scarred millennials, as some watched parents and
neighbors lose their homes. However, both generations have one thing in common: they are young and want access to urban amenities. They want a

In any generation, from the Greatest Generation to Generation Alpha, you have your outdoorsy people, your video gamers, your pushovers, your
leaders, your cooks and the people who can't even make microwave popcorn. While certain things are supposed to affect a generation's behavior,
some will affect certain people and other's won't. Just like we all have a different code of DNA, different fingerprints or hairs on our heads, our
personalities also differ. Maybe some people from Generation Z will fall apart without their devices, but others could care less about modern
technology. One cannot address a generation and using the traits given to the age group, decide their capability in different scenarios. One thing that
can be done, is understanding that everyone was made to have different skills for the exact purpose of being the yin to someone's yang. To fill the
empty spaces others cannot. Whether any group of people is thought of as deadbeats or not, humans were made to succeed. I choose to believe that
we are all capable of surviving with a group of other people and Generation Z is included in that. We are everything, from leaders to slackers. We may
be hopeless in some areas, but no one is completely useless and everyone has something to contribute. With the right motivation, Generation Z will
survive. The same goes for the Millennials, Generation X, all generations

The Decline Of Full-Time Job Opportunities For Generation...
The situation in Canadian Labour market is serious for generation Y and Z. Compared with the last generation, more issues happened to generation Y

low–protected and low–wage part–time jobs at the same time to support themselves( McGillivray, 2013; "Struggles of the young and jobless", 2013 ).

They majorly dismiss youth and inexperienced workers as employers want to keep high efficiency("Will a $15 minimum wage be good for Ontario?

On another side, the delaying of retirement will also cause the reduction the amount of job. According to data, the average retirement age rose to 63
in a decade, 2005 to 2015( MacNaughton, 2016). A large number of older choose to delay their retirement age as their anxiety about lack of enough
reserve to keeping the same living standard after retirement without a pension. In data, 47% Canadians do not have a pension plan, which is a large

Besides the reduction of the amount of full–time job, compared with previous generations, disadvantages for generation Y and Z could also increase
the difficulty for young people to find a desirable job.
Firstly, due to education inflation, an undergraduate degree is not a grant to get a stable job with a good salary to have a comfortable life anymore

My Relationship With My Aunt
My relationship with my aunt is something else. I don't think a lot of people say there aunt is like a sister to them. My aunt is a human named
Laura Brunke. Born on February 2nd of the year 1982. If she was not born on the 2nd of February in 1982, and named Laura Brunke I don't know
where i'd be today all these years filled with perseverance and passions from being influenced by her from her generation.
My generation is Generation Z. When most people think of my generation, they think we are all about technology, phones and are obsessed with
taking selfies. That is true to some extent but sometimes I like reading a good book over being on my phone. Also, social media has influenced us and
along with that came cyberbullying. We are the first generation to have so much access to technology throughout our lives.
Her generation is known as Generation Y or Millennials. Most people that are not in her generation, say her generation doesn't work and are free
and flexible. My aunt is the opposite of all those opinions, she is the hardest working person I know. She just quit her job to get the job of her dreams.
She looked at every job close to her dream and applied. Most of the jobs she looked at, rejected her but she didn't give up. She works at her dream job
now, even though her employees are the worst. She is just happy she can make a difference in these people's lives, which I admire how she could
persevere.
My aunt loves to dance more than anything. She would dance every minute she could, day and night. She would always came over to dance with
me, and would force me to dance with her every time, even I didn't want to. Over time, I would just dance with her and she didn't have to force me
anymore. The more I danced, the more I loved it. After all the time dancing with her, I decided to go to a dance studio, try a class and I got on the
dance team. It may have taken me a few tries but I got through it to the good side. She influenced me to do one of my most favorite passions with
perseverance.
My aunt is one of the best artists I know. She can simply look outside or at a picture and draw it. It looks exactly the same as whatever she is trying
to draw. I got inspired when I was young to do the same thing as

Disadvantages Of Paid Media

  • 1. Disadvantages Of Paid Media Question One Based on what we learn in class, the definition for owned media is the media channel that you own entirely and have full control over it. For example, your company's official website or your person Facebook page. Paid media is the method of promoting content such as product, movie or idea through the internet. The reason why people that will want to use paid media was because they hope by using it, it will help to create more exposure and view online, the endgame for paid media is to generate more earned media and drives traffic toward owned media. For example, the famous blogger posts a blog about how excellent this product is and later people start to look into this unique product. Or social media promotional through great twitter. The earned media is the online way of word of mouth through used of, shares, reposts, reviews, recommendations, or content review by 3rd party sites. For example, the Yelp review and movie recommendations by 3rd party website. According to article "Social Media: The More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same," The social media analytics firm Shareablee provided strong evidence to show that growing organic reach is still possible in May 2014 with the publication of a widely circulated white paper. Based on my understanding of this issue and what is in the article, the reason why organic reach is still possible on Twitter was because of "Twitter feed is unfiltered by an algorithm" (Gelles 7) and because of that, Twitter can't control what the users can see, no like Facebook's users. In other hands, the article also said that even though organic reach was still possible, but "At the same time, the continuing evolution of the major social networking platforms is making it increasingly difficult to achieve mass reach solely through purely organic and earned media strategies" (Gelles 7). It means that even though used of organic reach can still make mess reach, but as the study says, it becomes more challenging to use purely organic reach as a possible media strategy. In the end, my opinion is that organic reach was still a possible media strategy, but not in every case. Question Two Based on the article "Digital Natives vs. Digital Immigrants", the ... • 2. The Importance Of Social Media In Education Social media can be more beneficial than harmful in the educational field. When it comes to social media there is no doubt that the Digital Native are the experts of the subject, they are the ones who grew up with the technology in hand. Our generation thinks and acts different ways than generations before. Technology is now forcing the Academic department to change lecture style class. We use social media to communicate with people we love, to share with people our thoughts and also to share a piece of our life. College students never consider using social media for education. Twitter is one of the many social media sites that when its use for academic purposes helps students be more engage and get higher GPA. Digital Natives recall information different than Digital immigrants. According to Don Tapscott ", this is a generation that has different brains, they process information differently, they learn differently and overall this is for the better". This was a daily fight in my house, my dad didn't want us to do homework while listening to music, he used to tell us that you do not fully concentrate when you are listening to something, while on the other hand, I can't do math without hearing to music. There are many opinions regarding were ever this statement is true. People have different ways to study, personally I truly believe we can multitask, I can do my homework while I'm hearing music. Lecture classes are not useful and reading the complete book is no longer necessary. According to Don Tapscott "model of pedagogy is wrong it's based on the lecture, a one–way model. For students who learn differently". Go to class listen the hour and 2o mins, take notes, read and learn by yourself outside the course and you are good to go; that's what students are expected to do, memorize. We don't actually ... • 3. Reaction Paper On Millennials Right after watching Simon Sinek's interview about millennials, I began to ponder on how right he was, and how wrong he was. I quickly came to the conclusion that Sinek's description on millennials is a very big stereotype. His views on millennials definitely apply to a lot of people, and he is spot on about the millennial generation being more entitled than the last. One big mistake he makes on his presumptions is highlighted by the Huffington post, " Random individuals like Simon Sinek start from a presumption that there's something wrong with the generation today, when: Right and wrong are perceptions made by individuals, not strict definitions." Simon Sinek's opinions apply to only certain individuals and he does not take in part the ethnic and race differences in the parenting structure which he accuses of being a big blame on why the millennial generation is struggling. I myself do not see myself as a millennial and I especially do not see myself in the perspective that Sinek sees millennials. When he talks about parenting strategies being a big cause for the entitlement millennials have, I immediately disagreed. My parents were not that way at all and I feel many children did not grow up with those type of parents. I know for a fact the Hispanic parents don't teach their kids to be entitled, in fact, they teach the complete opposite. From personal experience and that of many of my friends and relatives, we are taught to work hard and to value what we have because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Generation Z Research Paper Throughout generation Z, I realize within the world how attached humans get to other humans. But personally, I believe in starting over. I believe that change is certainly a good thing. I believe that letting go is beneficial. However, I believe that moving on does not mean forgetting. Its far too often that people fall victim to things that are tearing us into pieces. Wheather it is a coping method; since often situations leave us so shattered, we as humans find it a hell of a lot easier to sweep our pieces up rather than put them back together. Even sometimes putting them back together doesn't necessarily mean finding the original pieces, but rather simply finding the "right" pieces. No matter the condition, I believe in innovation. The most universal feeling in today's world: confusion. Our lives are changing so often and so quickly that in flash... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite me seeing him at his worst, his best times stick with me. At the very end of my fourteenth year, he was gone from my physical life. But somehow, underneath all the loss, there was a unique feeling of gain, one that I couldn't receive any other way. I made it out in one piece, with God granting me my greatest years still ahead, and my hero looking down on me powering me through those unreliable friends, the bad grades, and heartbreaking relationships. When you lose someone who means so much to you and you love them endlessly, it's quite simple to let go of trying. It's the easiest thing in this universe to hide inside under your blankets and sob the rest of your life, but it takes a rather great sense of courage and strength to come out of a situation like this with acceptance and faith for the ... • 5. Brand And History Of Pacific Sunwear Essay Brand and History Pacific Sunwear, more commonly referred to as "Pac Sun" is currently one of the top retailers of men 's and women 's apparel in the streetwear and action sports clothing business. The original Pac Sun was opened in 1980 by Tom Moore in California as a shop that catered to surfers from the area. As time went on and the 'surfer look ' faded out, Pac Sun restructured its image in the '90s as more of a casual apparel retailer for young men, and eventually ventured to include women 's clothing as well as footwear ("History of Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc.", n.d.). Consisting of mostly mall installations in addition to a number of freestanding stores, Pac Sun continued business at an adequate rate through the 2000 's but seems to faltering as of late, as they have filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy as of this past April (Woolf, 2016). Product Category Pac Sun is currently in the business of young men and women 's apparel. Their apparent age range could most likely be narrowed down to between 18 and 28, making them Generation Y (millennials) as well as Generation Z. Sales Venue Pac Sun 's utilizes the brick–n–click sales venue. According to Pac Sun 's corporate website, the brand operated 609 stores as of September 2015. • 6. Generation Z Students In Education EFFECTIVENESS OF USING LEARNER'S MANUAL TO THE iGENERATION GRADE 10 STUDENTS IN THE PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOL I. INTRODUCTION The world is fast changing. Everyone is capitalizing on technology. Every sector is technologically–driven and this goes to education sector as well. Because of technology, teaching methodology has to adapt so that it can makes sense to the Generation Z students. In general, the Generation Z or simply iGeneration are those born between 1995 – 2014 (Randstad, 2016). The iGeneration craves for regular and technology–enhanced learning opportunities. They look for educational opportunities that use visually enhanced methods of teaching (Cooks, 2015). They need to experience change or innovative teaching methods in order to have their attention. "Catching the attention of the millennials can be difficult" (Tsuruta, 2015) how much more to the iGeneration. According to the study conducted by University of Illinois Springfield (2015) showed that Generation Z has attention span of 8 seconds only to a video or to other learning materials. This is a great challenge to the teachers of the iGeneration Grade 10 students taking up Science. Every teacher has its own way of selecting and developing a technique for teaching and may draw various experiences to get the attention of the students. This is called teaching methodology or pedagogy. The teaching methodology facilitates the learning process of the students. The students become productive if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Gay Rights In Generation Z Generation Z is being hailed as the true "WE Generation". Social media has allowed them to connect and organize in ways previous generations couldn't, creating a youth culture focused on equality and social change. However, this focus on equality doesn't always extend to the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) community. While Gen Z enjoys following stories aboutgay rights, they aren't particularly interested in the issues facing the LGBT community (Seemiller & Grace, 2016, p. 132). Heterosexual youth simply aren't aware of how dangerous it is to be gay or transgender in America, and believe that supporting marriage equality is the paramount of acceptance (Seemiller & Grace, 2016, p. 116). LGBT youth are still struggling with peer victimization and the resulting mental health issues due to the ignorance society, and Gen Z, holds towards gay rights. According to the 2015 GLSEN National School Climate Survey by Kosciw, Greytak, Giga, Villenas, and Danischewski (2016), 57.6% of LGBThigh school students felt unsafe at school because of their sexual orientation, and 43.3% because of their gender expression. Students frequently heard other students use anti–gay phrases and homophobic slurs, and over two thirds had been verbally harassed about their sexuality, yet the majority never reported the discrimination they faced (Kosciw et al. 2016). • 11. The Misconceptions Of Generation Z : Social Media Generation Z For Generation Z there is no actual memory of black and white tv or a world without social media, it is all history and stories we have been told, this makes us unique compared to past generations. Every generation has a turning point or an event that defines and shapes them. For Millennials, this event is September 11 of 2001, therefore, for the youngest generation this is part of history and we are not able to comprehend how millennials relate to this incident. For us, our even is the digital age, we are interlaced with social media and the internet in a way that past generations are not. There are many misconceptions regarding Generation Z, we are seen as social media obsessed and disinterested in life (Abramovich), these stereotypes make it hard for others to value the qualities and talents we have. It has become easy for adults to judge Generation Z because they don't relate to us. We are considered by far the most diverse generation (Kanae), however, for older generations, this comes as an inconvenience and we are titled as rebels without them looking further into our psyche. Regardless of this, Generation Z is considered smarter with money, more future and goal oriented and are determined to contribute and influence society more than any past generation (The Center for Generational Kinetics). If you ask an adult what they think about Generation Z some of them might confuse us with millennials and most would agree that Gen Z individuals are lazy and unaware of their surroundings. Older generations often try to fit new generations into boxes depending on their behavior pattern but fail to determine the nature of these behaviors. However, If adults and older generation had as many activities and concerns to manage all the time they would understand better the struggles this generation undergoes. Each Generation has been called lazy by their older generation at some point; which leads to thinking that maybe generations are being labeled lazy not because of their acts of laziness but because of the errors they make as young teens trying to manage time (Reno). Regardless of these stereotypes, Generation Z are hard–working and caring individuals whose aspirations and full schedules prove to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Generation Z : The Most Connected, Classy And Educated... Generation Z in the Work Place Characteristics/Intro The most connected, classy and educated generation ever is known as Gen Z. Gen Z is part of a generation that is global, social, visual and technological. They are the teens, the tweens, the youth and the young adults of our society. A Generation is generally described through the years of birth. For example Generation Z is 1995 to 2009 and therefore if you are born within these times, you are considered a part of the Generation. Generation Z is about 2 billion of the world's population and they don't just characterize the future, they are creating it. Unfortunately Gen Z individuals have been brought into the world during the times of crisis, terrorism and the global downturn and climate change. However fortunately study has shown that Generation Z is assisting human resource managers in many areas such as employment, and the evolution of the work industry. Like the unfortunate era they're living in, there is a positive turnaround where the students of today, employees and consumers of tomorrow, are experiencing the workforce for the first time and through this experience they have found and displayed new ways that human resourcing can be publically viewed. It has often been argued that Generation Z kids are irresponsible and lack discipline, however when it comes to employment, many managers have agreed that this Generation is the best. As Generation Y is lacking down, line managers are preparing to employ a more evolved ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Stereotypes And Misconceptions Of Generation Z Stereotypes and misconceptions are seen wherever a person travels, wherever a person lives, and wherever a person sleeps––basically they are everywhere we go. Stereotypes are based on truths, that exaggerates a group and society bases the stereotype of that group. While misconceptions differ from stereotypes, misconceptions form from having stereotypes, are based from untruths and that group are incorrectly viewed by error. Stereotypes exist in order to monetize certain groups and strip them of their pride, not only are stereotypes negative, but it can be positive. Misconceptions exist due to the fact, that people do not have the level of education or the skills of critical thinking and rationalization and automatically assume without knowing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The different types of misconceptions about Generation Z is that teenagers tend to be careless about life and teenagers are unaware of the surroundings in society. One major stereotype that society tends to associate with Generation Z is about social media and how teenagers are addicted to these "contraptions" as a way to isolate themselves and hid the free will of expression. Society tends to confuse the meaning of stereotype and misconception and how both contain different meaning, due to the lack of education to society. Stereotypes tend to come from a truth of a group that has been exaggerated while misconceptions develop from stereotypes, but in no means does a misconception contain any type of truth. Both differ from one another since stereotypes have some sort of truth behind their criticism versus a misconception which is completely false. Generation Z wakes up to cold screens in search of any form of happiness, no matter how fleeting, and continues to do so until they fall asleep. • 15. Technology And Technology With technology in the palm of our hands, why should we sit down and listen to boring reporters talk about an uninteresting topic that would not impact one's life? As technology advances further convenience and opportunity for many are provided in the American society, however, more issues are developing as shown from Trump's decision to end DACA known as the "Dreamers" while technology is becoming more complex.Generation Z, recognized for their technology involvement, has the ability to make a large impact on our society. With that being said, generation Z needs to engage in their local governments as much as they are involved in their cell phones. Local government makes the overall decision for their municipal district in order to maintain peace, order, and good governance. If generation Z including millennials want their voice to be heard, getting involved by voting and taking actions like peaceful protest allows their voice heard by their local government. In addition, the previous generations should adapt to generation Z's environment by including technology and social media into their daily lives in order to not make the younger generations feel like a failure but instead get them interested and engaged in whats occurring in their world. • 17. Views about Generation Z Technology is not all to blame for the stereotypes about Generation Z. Despite the negative comments about Generation Z being lazy and unaware, they are not at all. In fact, because most of them are technologically inclined and virtually updated, they are not apathetic, they're just being teenagers who were raised in a different environment. This is why there is such a thing as generations in this world. If there weren't any changes in the world, we wouldn't even be able to tell if a new generation has come. Every generation has its benefits for a better and more advanced living. In your article a parent of a Prospect student said "Compared to when I was growing up, I think that in some ways my daughter's generation is more unaware of what's going on the world. ... I don't think they're apathetic, though, I think they just have different priorities like their cell phones and Facebook." I believe the last part of what she said is right. We do have other priorities like the social network sites and our phones, bbm–ing one another. On the other hand, the fact that we are unaware of what's going on in the world is completely wrong. I think the way parents think about this generation is very close–minded. They're unaware of the good facilities these technologies provide us to stay in touch with the world. They are still adhering to past habits and methods that they are unable to let go. It is now possible for us to obtain any information in a span of a few seconds and a few ... • 18. Negative Effects Of Social Media On Generation Z Professor Joanne Simpson wrote in her article "Multitasking State of Mind", "When [Gen Z is] not connected, they don't know quite what to do with themselves."(Par 17) Generation Z has been attracted to social media in a way that is has made them addicted to it and also sleep deprived. Lack of communication with other human beings however, is another negative effects of social media in accordance with Generation Z. Social Media affects Generation Z in a positive way by how it is used educating young children and giving the teens the potential to improve the many practical skills. Social media has been a big part of people's lives since the mid 2000s and it is affecting Generation Z both negatively and positively. Generation Z is addicted to social media because it is the first thing they worry when they wake up. They pick up their phones to see what people posted in the morning, the afternoon, and the evening. Dr. Helen Driver, a somnologist (with means the study of sleep), explains, "The explosion of social media and people staying on devices for longer – and taking them to bed with them – is a huge problem". Social media has effected Generation Z's by sleep because the light is from the electronics which interferes with sleep. Not only does social media affect the quality of sleep but, the quantity of sleep too. The next morning, they only got a few hours of sleep and they do not feel well both physically and mentally. If someone has issues with turning off their electronic devices in the evening, then they should dim the lights or and turn the power off. Social media can affect Generation Z negatively by how they can have a lack of communication between human beings. Lack of human communication provokes how people are not visible of showing their verbal indications by using the right form of body language. Verbal communication is how normal people speak in words and by the messages that are spoken. Talking to their peers is appropriate to how we use it in traditional awards to everyday conversations. By not using a lot of human contact, the people of Generation Z use the incorrect way to use words or have long sentences to use in their judgements and ideas. • 19. The Age Of The Middle Class The whole idea of teenager came during the mid 1920's also known as the prosperity decade. This was a time when everything seemed to be going right for the middle class americans. The economy was booming and for the white middle class things appeared to be going quite well. The theory behind teenagers was to create a grace period between childhood and adulthood, in which an individual was able to learn and grow from their experiences. But as the years progress the ease into adulthood started to become more of a steep cliff rather than the gradual incline (ushistory.org). As a teenager, I believe that the teenage community is being stereotyped as a lazy and irresponsible generation perceived by other older generations, but that stereotype is not true. It is illogical to compare one group to another solely based on out of date ideals. The way we have analyzed teen brains is a correlation that has yet to be proven. II. Every generation grows up with different obstacles which cannot be compared to other generations because every person has a different background no matter who they identify as. Each generation is separated by the events that happened during their lifetime, that is the whole reason we separate generations in the first place to distinguish them. • 20. Generation Z: Fast and Furious Essay 'Fast and Furious'. Not only is this phrase the title of an incredibly successful, action–packed film, but it also briefly outlines the stereotypical traits associated with those in Generation Z. People in Generation Z in the Western world, which today range from around 11 to 20 years of age, have lived their entire lives in a technologically advanced society where mountains of information are at their fingertips. Due to the instantaneousness of current technology, Gen–Zers expect everything to be immediate, making them notorious for their impatience. This cutting–edge technology also means that Generation Z is very interconnected. Even when at home or on holiday, they can still be communicating with their peers. This makes Gen–Zers even... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Three of these societal influences are the media (body image), money and gender stereotypes. The media is defined by the Google Dictionary (2014) as "the main means of mass communication" and encompasses the internet, radio, newspaper, television etc. Due to recent advancements in technology, society can now be even more easily influenced by the media. Prior to the existence of the mass media, our ideas of beauty were restricted to what we saw in our own communities. We were not told by the media that women must have tiny waists and tan skin, and men must be tall with giant muscles to be good–looking, acceptable even. Through social networking sites, advertisements, films etc. the media bombards us with clips and images of these 'stunning' people, gradually manipulating Generation Z's sense of what is beautiful and healthy. The age bracket that Gen–Zers are currently in (11–20 years old) makes them especially susceptible to the media and what you supposedly must look like to be pretty. The media exploits Generation Z's interconnectedness and impressionability and uses it to it's own avail, because all the media cares about is making money. If making the models on clothing websites size 6 as apposed to size 16 sells more goods, then they will do so. If it is thought that a movie with a young, white, stick–thin female as the protagonist will be more popular, then they will cast a person with those characteristics. Not only that, ... A storm of speculations immediately hit the internet. How could the U.S. government choose such a paranoid and xenophobic–sounding name? Was this a creepy joke? Some claimed the White House took the name out of thin air. Others accused the government of deliberately spreading shivers of Orwellian terror. Naming them before we learn their true character traits is tantamount to label a piece of art that has not yet been completed. Creative wordsmiths will continue to use new monikers; at least until this young generation one day decides to name itself. This youngest generation is already rich with names, yet so poorly understood as a cohort of more than tiny consumers. • 22. Characteristics Of The Millennial Generation Review of Literature Every generation has unique characteristics, attitudes, values, and beliefs which influence how they view the world. Significant life events that occur at critical stages of development can also influence and shape each generation. Homelanders, Digital Natives, iGeneration, Plurals, and Generation Z are all names associated with the newest generation. Although there is some debate about when the millennial generation ended and this new generation began, most researchers agree with a mid to late 1990's start. For the purposes of this study, this generation will be referred to as Generation Z (Gen Z), born between 1995 and 2012 (Stillman & Stillman, 2017). Significant events that have shaped and influenced this generation are terrorism, economic recession, racial unrest, global competition, and social and ideological pluralism (Elmore, 2015) (White, 2017). According to White (2017), Gen Z is growing up in what is considered the first truly post–Christian generation. In light of this new reality, the church must rethink its strategy in order to engage and transform this generation. Adolescence is a time of discovering identity and questioning of one's beliefs and values. Unfortunately, outdated social and religious traditions have left Gen Z with a feeling of meaningless and have failed to provide purpose or a sense of belonging (Verma & Maria, 2006). • 23. Generation Z By David Mccullough Essay David McCullough .David McCullough's speech and criticism of "Generation Z", the youth of the 21st century is justified and insightful. "Generation Z" allows special to become a purposeless term, prefers to win rather than achieve, and "Generation Z" is obsessed with superficial growth rather than internal prosperity. Mr McCullough Jr criticises the generation's uselessness in terms of wanting to be "special," he does so by showing why meaningless accomplishment undermines actual major achievements. From everyone receiving the same participation trophy, which undermines the winners 1st place trophy, stated on June 5, 2012 line 1 to 2 paragraphs 5. "You see, if everyone is special, then no one is. If everyone gets a trophy, trophies become meaningless. In our unspoken but not so subtle Darwinian competition with one another–which springs, I think, from our fear of our own insignificance, a subset of our dread of mortality." The ideology of equality in consideration to achievement, is harmful to society in every way. It undermines serious achievement which prompts good men to stop wanting to achieve anything. It would put the world at an intellectual standstill were nothing new is ever made but repackaged and sold at a higher price. Which brings the question as to why generation z isn't special, it is due to their narcissism and lack of will to accomplish. Since the technology boom, Gen Z humans have many more resources than ever before. With the whole world ahead of them, they can go on to accomplish many things as long as they get passed the negative stereotypes. Generation Z has been labeled lazy, impatient, and entrepreneurial. Although most of the stereotypes are negative, there is some positive in this generation. One of the many stereotypes Generation Z is referred as is "lazy". In an article posted by The Huffington Post, it is stated that "Gen Z is often portrayed as less engaged in politics; they have short attention spans and don't care about the weighty issues that confront their generation and the nation; and they're more interested in technology and celebrity than staying active in their communities and schools. Public Management Z Core Characteristics Schroer (2015) identifies the Z generation as those individuals who were born between 1995–2015 and approximates their populace in the sum of 23 million. Cseh–Papp et. al. (2017), state "they are the smallest generation who were brought up in smaller families as they are mostly the children of the mothers in their 30's or 40's who postponed setting up a family because of their careers" (p 124). Similar to their generational forerunners this generation also experienced social variances, which included: 2008 financial crisis and subsequent national recession and global economic crisis Growing income gaps and shrinking middle class Reared during times of war as a result of global conflicts. Prensky complicates this matter when he embeds it into school routine. He endorses that to digital natives it feels like they are being taught by foreigners who have no wrap their head around English language yet. However, this is a dilemma that only starts, rather than ends, at the lack of communication. By introducing another example, he disputes that there is also a quarrel in the way of thinking in general. Digital natives, for example, believe that studying should be fun and could easily be done, while, for example, watching TV. This Digital Immigrants, however, deny up to this day; simply because they were not capable of doing all those things, while they were young. He then reminds us that, in spite of prevailing belief, one cannot simply presume that students function the same way their teachers did when they were in school. As a result of this, he enters the debate whether "students should go back to their old ways or if teachers should have to learn this new language" (Prensky, Mark. Digital Natives, Digital ... The millennials were raised in a time of peace later destroyed by the terrorist attacks in 2001, or more briefly "Theirs is a story of innocence lost"(Williams). • 38. Essay On Generation Z Unimaginable. A group of boys who set out to escape World War II cling on for dear life so tomorrow won't slip away. They fight to live another day in the hope of being rescued. Terrified. The group of boys develop fears that tear away at their relationships and sanity. Impossible. A group of technology ridden, social media obsessed, lazy teenagers, could never be self sufficient. Unprepared. A world where falling short is the equivalent of destruction would be a first for the technology ridden, lazy teenagers. Lost cause. Generation Z, incapable of success or prosperity. Everyone is the same and everyone is bound to disappoint. Every single person perfectly fits into societies labels and definitions of themselves. Generation... In any generation, from the Greatest Generation to Generation Alpha, you have your outdoorsy people, your video gamers, your pushovers, your leaders, your cooks and the people who can't even make microwave popcorn. While certain things are supposed to affect a generation's behavior, some will affect certain people and other's won't. Just like we all have a different code of DNA, different fingerprints or hairs on our heads, our personalities also differ. Maybe some people from Generation Z will fall apart without their devices, but others could care less about modern technology. One cannot address a generation and using the traits given to the age group, decide their capability in different scenarios. One thing that can be done, is understanding that everyone was made to have different skills for the exact purpose of being the yin to someone's yang. To fill the empty spaces others cannot. Whether any group of people is thought of as deadbeats or not, humans were made to succeed. I choose to believe that we are all capable of surviving with a group of other people and Generation Z is included in that. We are everything, from leaders to slackers. We may be hopeless in some areas, but no one is completely useless and everyone has something to contribute. With the right motivation, Generation Z will survive. The same goes for the Millennials, Generation X, all generations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. The Decline Of Full-Time Job Opportunities For Generation... The situation in Canadian Labour market is serious for generation Y and Z. Compared with the last generation, more issues happened to generation Y and Z who work or attempt to work in Canada: Many of them only find jobs that are lower salary and less stable; Many youths that belong to generation Y and Z cannot find a long–term full–time job with high salary and good welfare, therefore they have to keep several short–term, low–protected and low–wage part–time jobs at the same time to support themselves( McGillivray, 2013; "Struggles of the young and jobless", 2013 ). Some of them even lose their confidence of finding a job in Canada and then exit from Canadian labour market( "Labour Force Survey, September 2017 Text", 2017). Compared with ... Two experts debate: Opinion", 2017). On another side, the delaying of retirement will also cause the reduction the amount of job. According to data, the average retirement age rose to 63 in a decade, 2005 to 2015( MacNaughton, 2016). A large number of older choose to delay their retirement age as their anxiety about lack of enough reserve to keeping the same living standard after retirement without a pension. In data, 47% Canadians do not have a pension plan, which is a large group of people ("Retirement? Few Canadians without an employer pension plan have enough money, study says", 2016); others may choose to continue their job due to their love of work(MacNaughton, 2016). Besides the reduction of the amount of full–time job, compared with previous generations, disadvantages for generation Y and Z could also increase the difficulty for young people to find a desirable job. Firstly, due to education inflation, an undergraduate degree is not a grant to get a stable job with a good salary to have a comfortable life anymore (Bartlett & LeRose, 2015). Meanwhile, employers usually consider graduates who have higher degrees such as master degree are overqualified for work: graduates who have a master degree may require for higher payment but they are probably just ... • 40. My Relationship With My Aunt My relationship with my aunt is something else. I don't think a lot of people say there aunt is like a sister to them. My aunt is a human named Laura Brunke. Born on February 2nd of the year 1982. If she was not born on the 2nd of February in 1982, and named Laura Brunke I don't know where i'd be today all these years filled with perseverance and passions from being influenced by her from her generation. My generation is Generation Z. When most people think of my generation, they think we are all about technology, phones and are obsessed with taking selfies. That is true to some extent but sometimes I like reading a good book over being on my phone. Also, social media has influenced us and along with that came cyberbullying. We are the first generation to have so much access to technology throughout our lives. Her generation is known as Generation Y or Millennials. Most people that are not in her generation, say her generation doesn't work and are free and flexible. My aunt is the opposite of all those opinions, she is the hardest working person I know. She just quit her job to get the job of her dreams. She looked at every job close to her dream and applied. Most of the jobs she looked at, rejected her but she didn't give up. She works at her dream job now, even though her employees are the worst. She is just happy she can make a difference in these people's lives, which I admire how she could persevere. My aunt loves to dance more than anything. She would dance every minute she could, day and night. She would always came over to dance with me, and would force me to dance with her every time, even I didn't want to. Over time, I would just dance with her and she didn't have to force me anymore. The more I danced, the more I loved it. After all the time dancing with her, I decided to go to a dance studio, try a class and I got on the dance team. It may have taken me a few tries but I got through it to the good side. She influenced me to do one of my most favorite passions with perseverance. My aunt is one of the best artists I know. She can simply look outside or at a picture and draw it. It looks exactly the same as whatever she is trying to draw. I got inspired when I was young to do the same thing as ...
