Primary 
Quantitative research: 
• Numerically-based and obtains the hard numbers from which decisions can be 
made with confidence. 
Qualitative research: 
• Focuses on consumer feelings and opinions. 
Secondary 
Research draws on material that has been collected by another organization to 
provide market information.
