The heart of a father

  1. 1. Luke 11:9-13 • “And I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. “You fathers, if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.”
  2. 2. The Heart of A Father 1. To give unsparingly. • Luke 11:9-10 “And I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. • The fruit of a relationship. • Exodus 19:5 Now if you will obey Me and keep My covenant, you will be a special treasure from among all the people on earth; for all the earth belongs to Me.

Of course not! • Beyond our understanding. • Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
  4. 4. The Heart of A Father 3. To give of Himself first. • Luke 11:13 “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the holy Spirit to those who ask Him.” • The power of love. • Romans 8:32 Since He did not spare even his own Son but gave Him up for us all, won’t He also give us everything else? • Luke 15:31 And he said to him, “Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.
