1. Luke 11:9-13
• “And I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive
what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will
find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be
opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives.
Everyone who seeks, finds. And everyone who
knocks, the door will be opened. “You fathers, if
your children ask for a fish, do you give them a
snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you
give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you
sinful people know how to give good gifts to your
children, how much more will your heavenly
Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.”

1. To give unsparingly.
• Luke 11:9-10 “And I tell you, keep on asking, and
you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking,
and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door
will be opened to you. For everyone who asks,
receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And
everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
• The fruit of a relationship.
• Exodus 19:5 Now if you will obey Me and keep
My covenant, you will be a special treasure from
among all the people on earth; for all the earth
belongs to Me.

2. To give the best.
• Luke 11:11-12 “You fathers, if your children
ask for a fish, do you give them a snake
instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give
them a scorpion? Of course not!
• Beyond our understanding.
• Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have
for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for
good and not for disaster, to give you a
future and a hope.”

3. To give of Himself first.
• Luke 11:13 “So if you sinful people know how
to give good gifts to your children, how much
more will your heavenly Father give the holy
Spirit to those who ask Him.”
• The power of love.
• Romans 8:32 Since He did not spare even his
own Son but gave Him up for us all, won’t He
also give us everything else?
• Luke 15:31 And he said to him, “Son, you are
always with me, and all that I have is yours.
