3. To create this photo I positioned my model against a white backdrop and used
studio lighting to light the subject and highlight tattoos. I used a plain white
backdrop to make to draw the viewer’s attention immediately towards my star
image and his tattoos. There is no background information making him the focal
point of the photograph, to emphasise that the double page spread is all about
him. I positioned my model to the far left of the frame so I could easily split the
image in two and use the other side of the photograph for an interview. I have
also left enough room around my model for pull out quotes. I used a prime lens to
shoot my model and I took the images with a wide depth of field. My model is
looking directly into the camera lens, creating eye contact with the audience. My
star is presented as intimidating, cool and powerful, everything a hip-hop king
should be.
4. Picmonkey
To develop this shoot I downloaded
my images into Picmonkey and
airbrushed my model to make his skin
appear immaculate as in the image he
is topless and as a celebrity, he has to
look perfect.
I then used the mascara tool to
blacken my models eyelashes and eyes
to draw attention to his eyes as he is
holding a fixed gaze at the camera to
connect with the reader. I also lightly
went over his tattoos with the mascara
tool to blacken his tattoos and make
them stand out more.

9. I zoomed into several of his tattoos to
capture the detail so the audience can see
each tattoo close up. I plan to put these
images in pull out boxes along the bottom of
the double page spread as in the interview I
will be creating, he will be explaining what his
tattoos mean. On the close up images of his
tattoos I airbrushed and blackened them to
make them appear clearer and more
attractive.
