2. Steak ’n’ Fries
Steak ‘n’ Fries loses his innocence in the shooting of the Runts scene and this is shown through the
use of low key lighting with a high angle close up as to show that he's no longer a child. The first
scene where he appears shows him trapped in the frame through the mise-en-scene. Steak ‘n Fries is
seen in a split screen where he is pushed to the side and captured, with Carrot saying that if “you're
not on my side then you’re dead” showing that no matter the age you are a threat to him.
3. Youth
- Younger youth are given no second chances while the older ones are at least given one. Carrot
was given a second chance
- Highly influenced and introduced to violence one way or another. The ongoing war between the
favelas and the police then into Little Z vs Knockout Ned.
- Younger kids are quick to turn on eachother. The Runts will find any reason to kill one another.
- During the war between Little Z and Ned, any person of any age was allowed to take part with
any reason, to protect their families or to be respected
- Little Z treats Rocket as a child, “Well kid”, because he doesn't take part in the crime scene, its
as though anyone who doesn't take up crime isn't an adult.
