Lady Germanotta Accomplishments
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, known famously by her stage name, Lady Gaga, is an
American singer, songwriter and performance actress. Active since 2001, Gaga achieved
international fame upon the release of her first album The Fame in 2008 featuring hits including Just
Dance, Paparazzi and Poker Face. Her subsequent albums The Fame Monster (2009), Born This
Way (2011), Artpop (2013) and Cheek to Cheek (2014) helped secure her foothold as an eccentric
and versatile pop star selling a combined 28 million copies. Her achievements also include six
Grammy Awards, 13 MTV Music Video Awards, 13 Guinness World Records for music and social
media related achievements, the Songwriter's Hall of Fame's Contemporary Icon Award and
frequent listings by Billboard, Forbes and Time magazines as one of the most influential and
powerful person of the past decade. As an icon, Gaga creates her artistic identity ... Show more

However, her raw musical talent, beauty, passion and personality are most likely the tipping point
for the scales of popularity. Her connection and devotion to her fans however are by far the most
obvious achievement. They share letters of their often heartbreaking stories, calling her "Mother
Monster" and expressions such as "Oh my Lady Gaga" have become popular in China for conveying
surprise. She in turn, replies to the letters, wears the clothes fans craft for her and decorates her
rooms with their arts and gifts. In the recording studio she is revered as one of the few artists of her
generation to be so involved with the whole recording process. Knowing what the artist is doing and
what the final recording is to sound like is often a multi–person job. However, Gaga shoulders the
burden along with the rest of the members in the studio who applaud her efforts. She is not seeking
attention, she knows that she has it. And with it she hopes to make the world a better

On the Pulse of Morning, by Maya Angelou Essay
Hillary R. Clinton once said that "There cannot be true democracy unless Women's voices are heard"
(conference in Vienna, Austria 1997). That very brilliant quote relates to a very strong woman by the
name of Maya Angelou. Angelou is "America's most visible black female autobiographer and
speakers" (scholar Joanne M. Braxton). She is known for her speeches, poems, and books, but what
stood out to me the most was her 1993 inauguration speech when Bill Clinton was sworn into the
White House. Ironically, in her poem "On the Pulse of Morning" Maya Angelou uses clear rhetoric,
prehistoric metaphoric images, and inspirational concepts to alert her audience to treat the world
differently. Born on April 4th, 1928, in St. Louis, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rhetoric in using language effectively and persuasive verbal communication, for example,
Language that is elaborate, pretentious, insincere, or intellectually vacuous: His offers of
compromise were mere rhetoric. Majority all the terminology expressed in her speeches are clear to
understand, and her pronunciation is terrific. Angelou vocal delivery is easy to hear, and she uses
effective pauses to emphasize ideas. Although Angelou speeches and poetry are enjoyable they are
geared toward an older audience, because a younger audience cannot relate some of her speech
textual. The use of clear rhetoric in her speeches makes her a truly amazing famous speaker.
Moreover, the use of prehistoric metaphoric images is directed at the audience to help them better
embrace and value a new concept or idea. Some speakers use metaphors because they are a figure of
speech in which a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another,
thus making an implicit comparison, as in "a sea of troubles" or "All the world's a stage"
(Shakespeare). In one particular part of the speech, personification is given to the rock, implying
that it be capable of "cry out". It gives the figment of your imagination that the rock is conversation
to the person and informing them that it is there for the individual to use as "ground" to place on, but
not as a guard. The rock says that he is here to help struggle, but not to conceal the person from their

Personal Narrative : Personal Experience
This summer, I had the opportunity to "recreate" my identity–to really "be myself"– when I went to
a six–week residential summer program in Pittsburgh. As my parents saw me off at the airport, they
cheerfully waved and said, "Be yourself and have fun!" And so I did–or tried to, at least. There, no
one knew me, and I knew no one, so it was the ideal place for me to take a step back and reflect on
who I was–to figure out who I was. There, I wasn't the annoying, (apparently) haughty, and
obnoxiously energetic "baby" of the Sato family. Nor was I the reserved, quiet high school student at
AB, the soccer player, the piano player, the list goes on. I wanted to become someone completely
different–my true self. But then, does that mean that all of these different versions of me were, in
some way, fake? No, they aren't. The conclusion that I arrived at during the program, the answer that
some part of me always knew, was no. During the six weeks, while I was more extroverted and
spontaneous than usual–going out on late–night trips to Subways, going to parties, having
impromptu excursions to downtown Pittsburgh, and joining water balloon fights with strangers–on
weekdays, I often found myself declining invitations to go see plays, concerts, and other events so
that I could stay cooped up in my dorm, toiling away at my group project, which was exactly what .
On the other hand, my roommate would jump at all these opportunities to get out and have fun–even
when she wasn't even close to

Persuasive Essay On Grammys
Adrian Pedron Mrs. Gonzalez – Rojas English 11 Accelerated 10 April, 2017 The Grammys Every
year, the most successful musicians across the globe gather for the Grammy Awards. Ever since
1959, the world has tuned into their televisions to get a glimpse of the most popular awards show in
the United States. Recently in 2016, the Grammys committee changed a very controversial rule.
Traditionally artists that were unsigned to a record label were unable to be nominated for an award.
The new rule, however now allows unsigned artists to be nominated for a Grammy. This used to be
a controversial topic due to the fact that unsigned artists are making music just like everyone else
and deserve the same opportunities as everybody else. Unsigned ... Show more content on

A newer kind of music app has changed all of that. This new app is called SoundCloud. This app
allows young artists to post music and receive worldwide attention. SoundCloud has benefited
tremendously due to the new Grammy rule. The Grammys has opened up a whole new world for
both SoundCloud and unsigned artists. In this statement made by Bill Freimuth, "The Grammys
aren't just peer–awarded, they're peer–driven," he reiterated the idea that unsigned artists are humble
and deserve to be awarded for their work. Another big reason for this rule change is the recent
petitions made by several artists that have raised concerns about this issue. A petition was started in
2016 by a group of independent artists as you may be able to conclude, they got enough signatures
to raise awareness for this topic. This quote made by Bill Freimuth, "Streaming is here and probably
here to stay," admits that the Grammys need to be more lenient on certain rules. Unsigned artists
should be able to participate in the Grammys because it engages a wider audience and gives
opportunities to new artists. Musicians are becoming more and more diverse every day. The
Grammys eventually realized that their rules were outdated and needed to be changed. The way
music is being made is becoming very controversial because many people don't understand that
artists don't need to be signed to be

The name of the singing group Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers grabbed my attention right away. I
had never heard of this music group before this assignment. The name "Teenagers" made me giggle.
I wonder if "Lymon" is pronounced Lee–mun, Lee–mon, Lie–mun, or Lie–mon. I had to stop and
check Wikipedia for any available pronunciation of this unusual name. Unfortunately, Wikipedia did
not provide a breakdown of the pronunciation. I googled it; and I came across a youtube video along

Johnny Cash is my daddy and father–in–law's favorite singer of all time. I did not know that Johnny
Cash was of the groups What Cash and Tennessee Two. Cash is a wonderful story teller within his
songs. I had not realized that he was born in Arkansas. He worked the cotton fields just as my daddy
had while he was growing up. While my daddy was hospitalized last year for two weeks, I learned
the difference between hoeing and picking cotton. My daddy and Cash have many things in
common. They both sold appliances, and they both served our country. I have fond memories of
spending time with my children and husband cruising the seawall and all of us belting out the lyrics
to "Ring of Fire."
Elton John is an awesome performer. He is flamboyant and accessorizes head–to–toe, including his

Bruno Mars's Music At The American Music Awards
Sunday night November 20, 2016. This is the night the American Music Awards (AMA's) opened in
2016. The American Music Awards is a huge event in the music industry. This event is sometimes
compared to the Grammys. As we all know, the opening and closing acts are the most important
because you have to start the show off right to get everyone in that good and exciting mood, then it
is also important to end the show with that special performance to remember until next year's event
comes. At the 2016 American Music Awards, Bruno Mars stole the show with this amazing opening

The stage performance is also a great factor into putting on a good show. That is no problem for
bruno mars. Bruno mars always has everyone moving when he steps onto the stage. Bruno mars
shows any gig he plays in that no matter how old you are, you will be on your feet dancing to the
music. Mars does this by coming up with great dance choreography and having great background
dancers to back him up. The entrance to the show needs to be perfect in order to get the audience
moving with you. He opened the show with amazing lights and hit the stage with his tight dance
moves with his other stage dancers. Each step was in unison with everyone else and it looked like no
one skipped a step. This perfection went on throughout the entire performance. When a different
beat came on, a new dance move came out. In the middle/ending of the song, the lights dimmed and
he appeared on the stage with four new dancers. The beat dropped and a new one came on for about
a minute of the performance. No singing went on and all there was was dancing. You can tell hours
went into just this little minute of the performance because the way he presented the dance was
abstract and you can tell that everyone was on beat and where they were suppose to be. Not many
singers can break it down in a dance like Bruno Mars did.
Mars connected to the audience members as well as people at home judging by all

infamous Bill Cosby scandal performed very recently. In this case we'll bring up a hypothetical
situation of the outcome of when a celebrity would eventually lose his or her fame. There are many
celebrities to tribute this hypothesis to, but It has been decided that the controversial celebrity

continues to eradicate his self handicapping grandiosity of his public self, he just may be saved and

The And Cultural Impact Of Kanye West
In Greek mythology, the Mousai are the goddesses of music. In various Native American tribes,
Kokopelli signifies musical sound. Also, The Egyptian goddess of music is Hathor. And last, but not
least there's the self–proclaimed god of music Kanye west. No matter the time period certain
musical names are respected even if you've never heard a single song from them. For example, The
Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Jimmy Hendrix are well known and, for the most part, considered in the
top ten artists of all time. However, making good music does not lead to instant success. An artist
must create a fan base, continuously release high–quality music, and have some social impact.
Kanye West is one of the most influential artists of all time due to his musical variation, critically
acclaimed awards, and cultural impact. When it comes to artists Kanye West is by far the most
experimental with his work. Kanye west's freshman album The College Dropout brought a new
sound to the rap genre. Also, "He continued to move toward more maximalistic production on his
next two albums, Late Registration and Graduation...But it was his 2008 album, 808s & Heartbreak,
that may be his most influential as he stripped away the samples and relied almost entirely on
synthesizers and Auto–Tune as instruments."(Ryan. "Is Kanye West the greatest artist of the 21st

The Music Video For Their Anthem
Kendrick Lamar Duckworth often references the experience of sitting on his father's shoulders at the
age of 8, watching West coast hip–hop legends Dr. Dre and Tupac film the music video for their
anthem to the Golden State, "California Love" as the spark that ignited his creative bonfire. Born on
June 17, 1987 to couple who moved from Chicago to Compton with only $500 to their names in
order to escape the gang lifestyle, Lamar was exposed to guns, drugs, and violence at a young age.
"I 'm 6 years old, seein ' my uncles playing with shotguns, sellin ' dope in front of the apartment."
Lamar witnessed his first murder outside his family's apartment when he was 5 years old – a
teenager gunned down while selling drugs. Although Lamar was never affiliated with a gang, his
whereabouts did put him into a few tense situations with gang members; in the song "Average Joe,"
Lamar recounts his experience being shot at by a group of Crips simply because of the
neighborhood in which he lived. But instead of being caught up in the whirlpool of gang–banging
that takes the lives of so many young Compton residents before him, he used his experiences as
motivation and fodder for exploding music career. As a kid living in one of the most violent cities in
America, Lamar kept a low profile. He made good grades in school and generally kept to himself – a
habit he would soon be forced to overcome. One example being when Lamar knew the answer to a
math problem during class, but he was too

Billy Joel, and Elton John; two incredible singers that have different and diverse backgrounds,
however the question must be asked, who is better? Whose life has gone smoother? Who produced
the better music? Who made more? Many of these questions can be simply answered by reading
biographies and watching documentaries. These don't however, answer exactly what their ideas or

Elton John has sold double the number of albums then Billy Joel and has had a more successful
music career. Elton John overcame more hardships. Between his father's anger at his career choice,
and the backlash he experienced due to his sexuality, he has dealt with more hardships than Billy. He
also had released more albums of higher quality and more well–known singles. He also joined with
the rapper from Detroit, Eminem in his song Stan. Finally, "Elton John recorded a tribute to Princess
Diana, and his Westminster Abbey performance of the song (Candle in the Wind) during Diana's
funeral service in September of 1997." (Simon Firth) and played alongside Queen and Axl Rose in a
tribute to Freddie Mercury after his passing on November 24th, 1991. The generous amount of
money he donated to charity also defines how nice of a person he is. Once he received a school

Charlotte was supposed to host the All Star Game during the 2017 season, but limitations on the

While Silver would love to host the game in Charlotte, he does not plan on having the game playing

individuality and being the unique individual a person is. An example of this is shown when the
narrator eats yams, as he does not allow society and its views of him eating yams to impact his

Lady Gaga Stereotypes
Lady Gaga, an American singer songwriter, became widely known in 2009, after her single 'Just
Dance' claimed the number one spot on song charts. Since then, she has released several number one
songs, taken home 6 Grammy Awards, 13 MTV Music Video Awards, and sold over 160 million
albums and singles worldwide. On June 18th, 2015, Lady Gaga received the first Contemporary
Icon Award, created to recognize artists who have become an icon in pop culture (Curtis). With her
overwhelming popularity, it is easy to see why Lady Gaga received this award. She represents the
rebelliousness of today's youth in her wild outfits and is a leader in the fight for gay rights.
However, if time is taken to dissect the context surrounding Lady Gaga, it turns out she is not as
progressive as her iconic status indicates. For example, while her Bad Romance music video may

One common stereotype in society today is that men are stronger and more dominant while women
are weaker and submissive. This stereotype is strongly reflected in the music video. When the
camera looks up to the men, they are put in a position of power. The upward camera angle makes
them appear bigger and more intimidating. All of the men wear black, which is symbolic for power.
Similarly, all of the men have prominent muscles and many of them have tattoos, showing how
tough and strong they are. The strength and dominating nature of the men is contrasted with the
submissiveness of the women, specifically, Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga is shown as weaker and
submissive when the camera looks down on her, making her look smaller from that angle. Lady

Song Analysis: Why I Hate These Blurred Lines
I Hate These Blurred Lines 2013 has been a good year. We've had a royal birth, a celebration
marking 50 years of Doctor Who and Andy Murray won Wimbledon making him the first British
male to do so in *77 years. Unfortunately this year also saw the release of what is quite possibly the
worst song ever made: Blurred Lines. It is a monstrosity created by Robin Thicke. The song has
attracted much attention due it its misogynistic video and offensive lyrics. That attention has caused
both positive and negative reactions. Blurred Lines has become the *most downloaded song of 2013
but it has also been banned in several places including at least *9 universities in the UK alone. My
question is, why hasn't it been banned all together? It is shocking really that a song that promotes
date rape and objectifies women is even permitted to play on the radio. The argument, of course, is
that the song does not affiliate itself at all with the subject of rape, and that people who take offence
are, in fact, simply reading too much into the lyrics.. This notion is outrageous. Even if the song was
not intended to have this sort of content no one can deny that the is little to dispute when
deciphering the meaning behind *these lyrics: "I hate these blurred lines I know you want it I know

when it comes to consent, yes is yes and no is no. Simple. Clear. Very precise lines that are in no
way blurred. But of course, Robin knows best. To him when this girl says no, what she quite clearly
means is yes. Because he knows she wants it. Thinking about that makes me feel extremely
uncomfortable. This girl has expressed that she has no interest in this man but he still chooses to
peruse her because he feels like she obviously can't resist him. If that doesn't sound like the thoughts
of a rapist before an attack then what

Stevie Wonder Research Paper
Stevie Wonder is an African American musician who had to overcome a large obstacle, his
blindness. Although he had to deal with a life changing disability, Stevie's determined attitude and
love for music helped him find ways to overcome this significant challenge. Despite his blindness,
Stevie Wonder became one of the most popular and celebrated musicians in this country. He amazed
many people when he accomplished unbelievable things, such as being honored with many awards
including 25 Grammys (Bio.com). Stevie Wonder was born on May 13, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan.
Stevie was born premature and was placed in an incubator for 40 days and 40 nights (Bio.com).
During this time, the doctors noticed that he was not responding to visual stimuli. ... Show more

As a result of Stevie's impressive talent, he was signed to the label by Berry Gordy, the founder of
Motown Records (Ribowsky 46). When Stevie became a part of the Motown label, he began to
spend a lot of time at the studio and he became very comfortable there. Since Stevie was one of the
youngest people working at Motown, he loved to have fun and play tricks on people by using his
handicap. Stevie would say things that made it seem like he could see, so that it would freak people
out (Ribowsky 61). Although being blind could be very upsetting to Stevie at times, his attitude
towards his disability was not always negative. He sometimes used his handicap to have fun and
make the best of dull days at the studio. When Stevie walked into different things in the studio, it
didn't frustrate him, it would just make him laugh (Ribowsky 67). Although Stevie loved to have fun
and didn't take himself too seriously, his disability made average things very hard for him. While
most people could read things off of paper, Stevie had to memorize everything through sound. "See,
Stevie just worked so hard, 'cause he had to, bein' blind and all," recalls the guitarist Eddie "Chank"
Willis. "Everyone else had the chords, the lyrics, everything on paper. Stevie had to memorize it all
and Clarence would have gotten all the different little changes in tempo, beat, whatever (Ribowsky
66)." Instead of reading the words when Stevie recorded music, the person that was working with
him in the studio would say the lyrics a little bit before him, and then Stevie would repeat them,
making the experience longer and more complicated (Ribowsky

Lady Germanotta Accomplishments

  • 1. Lady Germanotta Accomplishments Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, known famously by her stage name, Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter and performance actress. Active since 2001, Gaga achieved international fame upon the release of her first album The Fame in 2008 featuring hits including Just Dance, Paparazzi and Poker Face. Her subsequent albums The Fame Monster (2009), Born This Way (2011), Artpop (2013) and Cheek to Cheek (2014) helped secure her foothold as an eccentric and versatile pop star selling a combined 28 million copies. Her achievements also include six Grammy Awards, 13 MTV Music Video Awards, 13 Guinness World Records for music and social media related achievements, the Songwriter's Hall of Fame's Contemporary Icon Award and frequent listings by Billboard, Forbes and Time magazines as one of the most influential and powerful person of the past decade. As an icon, Gaga creates her artistic identity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, her raw musical talent, beauty, passion and personality are most likely the tipping point for the scales of popularity. Her connection and devotion to her fans however are by far the most obvious achievement. They share letters of their often heartbreaking stories, calling her "Mother Monster" and expressions such as "Oh my Lady Gaga" have become popular in China for conveying surprise. She in turn, replies to the letters, wears the clothes fans craft for her and decorates her rooms with their arts and gifts. In the recording studio she is revered as one of the few artists of her generation to be so involved with the whole recording process. Knowing what the artist is doing and what the final recording is to sound like is often a multi–person job. However, Gaga shoulders the burden along with the rest of the members in the studio who applaud her efforts. She is not seeking attention, she knows that she has it. And with it she hopes to make the world a better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. On the Pulse of Morning, by Maya Angelou Essay Hillary R. Clinton once said that "There cannot be true democracy unless Women's voices are heard" (conference in Vienna, Austria 1997). That very brilliant quote relates to a very strong woman by the name of Maya Angelou. Angelou is "America's most visible black female autobiographer and speakers" (scholar Joanne M. Braxton). She is known for her speeches, poems, and books, but what stood out to me the most was her 1993 inauguration speech when Bill Clinton was sworn into the White House. Ironically, in her poem "On the Pulse of Morning" Maya Angelou uses clear rhetoric, prehistoric metaphoric images, and inspirational concepts to alert her audience to treat the world differently. Born on April 4th, 1928, in St. Louis, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rhetoric in using language effectively and persuasive verbal communication, for example, Language that is elaborate, pretentious, insincere, or intellectually vacuous: His offers of compromise were mere rhetoric. Majority all the terminology expressed in her speeches are clear to understand, and her pronunciation is terrific. Angelou vocal delivery is easy to hear, and she uses effective pauses to emphasize ideas. Although Angelou speeches and poetry are enjoyable they are geared toward an older audience, because a younger audience cannot relate some of her speech textual. The use of clear rhetoric in her speeches makes her a truly amazing famous speaker. Moreover, the use of prehistoric metaphoric images is directed at the audience to help them better embrace and value a new concept or idea. Some speakers use metaphors because they are a figure of speech in which a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison, as in "a sea of troubles" or "All the world's a stage" (Shakespeare). In one particular part of the speech, personification is given to the rock, implying that it be capable of "cry out". It gives the figment of your imagination that the rock is conversation to the person and informing them that it is there for the individual to use as "ground" to place on, but not as a guard. • 9. Personal Narrative : Personal Experience This summer, I had the opportunity to "recreate" my identity–to really "be myself"– when I went to a six–week residential summer program in Pittsburgh. As my parents saw me off at the airport, they cheerfully waved and said, "Be yourself and have fun!" And so I did–or tried to, at least. There, no one knew me, and I knew no one, so it was the ideal place for me to take a step back and reflect on who I was–to figure out who I was. There, I wasn't the annoying, (apparently) haughty, and obnoxiously energetic "baby" of the Sato family. Nor was I the reserved, quiet high school student at AB, the soccer player, the piano player, the list goes on. I wanted to become someone completely different–my true self. But then, does that mean that all of these different versions of me were, in some way, fake? No, they aren't. The conclusion that I arrived at during the program, the answer that some part of me always knew, was no. During the six weeks, while I was more extroverted and spontaneous than usual–going out on late–night trips to Subways, going to parties, having impromptu excursions to downtown Pittsburgh, and joining water balloon fights with strangers–on weekdays, I often found myself declining invitations to go see plays, concerts, and other events so that I could stay cooped up in my dorm, toiling away at my group project, which was exactly what . On the other hand, my roommate would jump at all these opportunities to get out and have fun–even when she wasn't even close to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Persuasive Essay On Grammys Adrian Pedron Mrs. Gonzalez – Rojas English 11 Accelerated 10 April, 2017 The Grammys Every year, the most successful musicians across the globe gather for the Grammy Awards. Ever since 1959, the world has tuned into their televisions to get a glimpse of the most popular awards show in the United States. Recently in 2016, the Grammys committee changed a very controversial rule. Traditionally artists that were unsigned to a record label were unable to be nominated for an award. The new rule, however now allows unsigned artists to be nominated for a Grammy. This used to be a controversial topic due to the fact that unsigned artists are making music just like everyone else and deserve the same opportunities as everybody else. Unsigned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A newer kind of music app has changed all of that. This new app is called SoundCloud. This app allows young artists to post music and receive worldwide attention. SoundCloud has benefited tremendously due to the new Grammy rule. The Grammys has opened up a whole new world for both SoundCloud and unsigned artists. In this statement made by Bill Freimuth, "The Grammys aren't just peer–awarded, they're peer–driven," he reiterated the idea that unsigned artists are humble and deserve to be awarded for their work. Another big reason for this rule change is the recent petitions made by several artists that have raised concerns about this issue. A petition was started in 2016 by a group of independent artists as you may be able to conclude, they got enough signatures to raise awareness for this topic. This quote made by Bill Freimuth, "Streaming is here and probably here to stay," admits that the Grammys need to be more lenient on certain rules. Unsigned artists should be able to participate in the Grammys because it engages a wider audience and gives opportunities to new artists. Musicians are becoming more and more diverse every day. The Grammys eventually realized that their rules were outdated and needed to be changed. As we all know, the opening and closing acts are the most important because you have to start the show off right to get everyone in that good and exciting mood, then it is also important to end the show with that special performance to remember until next year's event comes. Mars does this by coming up with great dance choreography and having great background dancers to back him up. The entrance to the show needs to be perfect in order to get the audience moving with you. He opened the show with amazing lights and hit the stage with his tight dance moves with his other stage dancers. Each step was in unison with everyone else and it looked like no one skipped a step. This perfection went on throughout the entire performance. When a different beat came on, a new dance move came out. In the middle/ending of the song, the lights dimmed and he appeared on the stage with four new dancers. The beat dropped and a new one came on for about a minute of the performance. No singing went on and all there was was dancing. You can tell hours went into just this little minute of the performance because the way he presented the dance was abstract and you can tell that everyone was on beat and where they were suppose to be. Many members of the public believe that Justin Bieber is a punk who would go nowhere if kicked out of the entertainment industry and their clauses are justified pertaining to past events. However, what the public is uninformed of is the ongoing transformation of Justin Bieber as he learns to live a more meaningful life rather than a happy ignorant one to better ... • 45. The And Cultural Impact Of Kanye West In Greek mythology, the Mousai are the goddesses of music. In various Native American tribes, Kokopelli signifies musical sound. Also, The Egyptian goddess of music is Hathor. And last, but not least there's the self–proclaimed god of music Kanye west. No matter the time period certain musical names are respected even if you've never heard a single song from them. For example, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Jimmy Hendrix are well known and, for the most part, considered in the top ten artists of all time. However, making good music does not lead to instant success. An artist must create a fan base, continuously release high–quality music, and have some social impact. Kanye West is one of the most influential artists of all time due to his musical variation, critically acclaimed awards, and cultural impact. When it comes to artists Kanye West is by far the most experimental with his work. Kanye west's freshman album The College Dropout brought a new sound to the rap genre. Also, "He continued to move toward more maximalistic production on his next two albums, Late Registration and Graduation...But it was his 2008 album, 808s & Heartbreak, that may be his most influential as he stripped away the samples and relied almost entirely on synthesizers and Auto–Tune as instruments."(Ryan. Born on June 17, 1987 to couple who moved from Chicago to Compton with only $500 to their names in order to escape the gang lifestyle, Lamar was exposed to guns, drugs, and violence at a young age. "I 'm 6 years old, seein ' my uncles playing with shotguns, sellin ' dope in front of the apartment." Lamar witnessed his first murder outside his family's apartment when he was 5 years old – a teenager gunned down while selling drugs. Although Lamar was never affiliated with a gang, his whereabouts did put him into a few tense situations with gang members; in the song "Average Joe," Lamar recounts his experience being shot at by a group of Crips simply because of the neighborhood in which he lived. But instead of being caught up in the whirlpool of gang–banging that takes the lives of so many young Compton residents before him, he used his experiences as motivation and fodder for exploding music career. As a kid living in one of the most violent cities in America, Lamar kept a low profile. He made good grades in school and generally kept to himself – a habit he would soon be forced to overcome. We've had a royal birth, a celebration marking 50 years of Doctor Who and Andy Murray won Wimbledon making him the first British male to do so in *77 years. Unfortunately this year also saw the release of what is quite possibly the worst song ever made: Blurred Lines. It is a monstrosity created by Robin Thicke. The song has attracted much attention due it its misogynistic video and offensive lyrics. That attention has caused both positive and negative reactions. Blurred Lines has become the *most downloaded song of 2013 but it has also been banned in several places including at least *9 universities in the UK alone. My question is, why hasn't it been banned all together? It is shocking really that a song that promotes date rape and objectifies women is even permitted to play on the radio. The argument, of course, is that the song does not affiliate itself at all with the subject of rape, and that people who take offence are, in fact, simply reading too much into the lyrics.. This notion is outrageous. In case you haven't been stalking me as of fifteen seconds ago, I was just dared to go hit on this girl because I may or may not have been checking her out. I mean what do you want me to do she is pretty attractive. Taking my stroll over to the beautiful girl's table, I definitely began to have second thoughts. Moving closer and closer I could see every bit of detail in her hair, her skin, everything. She had a face of an angel. I was definitely having second thoughts I should probably retreat or just run far far far away. As I looked back the guys were watching like a hawk watches its prey. Well, this was a situation I did not enjoy being in I made a noise that sounded something like hello, did I fool you no, look I am not Scottie I can talk to girls. I simply said, "Hi, do you know me?
