lowering the glucose level in the blood by working on three of the four main metabolic factors of
type two diabetes. In type II diabetes, there are four main metabolic factors that are involved in the
regulation of insulin and glucose; insulin production in the pancreas, glycogenolysis in the liver,
adipokines regulation in the adipose tissue, and receptor site sensitivity in the muscles. ... Show
Insulin's main function is to facilitate the absorption of glucose into active cells. Without this
facilitation, cells will not be able to make the energy needed to perform their normal functions

As for the liver, it stores glucose in the form of glycogen. When the body is in need, the glycogen is
converted into glucose in a process called glycogenolysis and is released into the blood stream to
serve its purpose. When there is a malfunction, there is an excess amount of glucose being released
into the blood stream. When this happens, the blood glucose level is elevated and can only be
lowered if insulin is present to help facilitate its absorption (Lewis et al. 2014, 1156). Glyburide
