1. Committee of Regions This Committee was created in 1992 but it doesn't start functioning until two years later (1994). The president of the Committee is called Mercedes Bresso and the vice-president is called Ramon Luis Valcarcel and they are chose by the committee. Every two years the president is changed and the vice-president takes the presidency. The Committee of regions is a entity represented by all the European states. It has a consultive power that gives voice to the regional and local enties. The main idea of this committee is to approach Europe to the civilization. They take decisions that affects day by day to all the regions in Europe. They meet all together 5 times a year.

5. COUNCIL OF EUROPE Aninternationalorganisationwhichpromotesthecooperationbetweeneuropeancountries. Itwasfoundedon 5 may 1949, in “Treaty of London”. Thistreatywassignedby ten countries: France, UK, Italy, Ireland, Norway… In 1989 because of theFall of theBerlin Wall, new statescametotheorganisation: theformercommuniststates and fourcountries of theformerJugoslavia. Nowadaysthere are 47 countries, allthecountries of EuropefewerBelarus. Aims of the Council of Europe: Promotethejustice, thefreedom, thedemocracy and thepeace in Europe. Cultural and social labour. Workagainstthemilitaryinvestment. Guaranteethe fundamental humanrights.

It has itsownpresident. There are representatives of allthecountriesinsidetheorganisation. ParliamentaryAssembly. It has itsownpresidentwhoiselectedfor a year. There are parliamentariansfromallmemberstates. Congress of the CE. Itwascreated in 1994. Itsmembers are therepresentativesfrom local and regional authorities in thecountries. CommissionerforHumanRights. IselectedbytheParliamentaryAssemblyforsixyears. Nowadays Thomas Hammarbergisthecommissioner. Conference of INGOs. InformationOffices of the CE.
