• STUDENTS WILL IDENTIFY THE FORMS THAT POWER CAN
TAKE.
• STUDENTS WILL IDENTIFY THE POWER OF PERSONAL
RESPONSIBILITY.

• IDENTIFY TWO PEOPLE IN YOUR MIND (SECRETLY)
• TRY TO BE EQUIDISTANT FROM THOSE TWO PEOPLE
• WHAT DO YOU NOTICE ?
• PERSONAL CHANGE => AFFECTS OUR ENVIRONMENT AS WELL
PART 1 : THE POWER WITHIN
• QUESTION TIME !
• DOES HEALTH GIVE PEOPLE POWER?
• • DOES WEALTH GIVE PEOPLE POWER?
• • DOES BEAUTY GIVE PEOPLE POWER?
• • DOES PHYSICAL SIZE GIVE PEOPLE POWER?
• • DOES KNOWLEDGE GIVE PEOPLE POWER?
• • DOES POPULARITY GIVE PEOPLE POWER?
• • DOES THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE GIVE PEOPLE POWER?
• WHAT IS THE TRUE SOURCE OF POWER ?
• GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF SOMEONE WITH GREATER POWER THAN
YOU.
• EX : JUDGE CAN SUSPEND DRIVERS LISCENCE IN COURT
• EVEN THOUGH THE COURT HAS THE POWER TO SUSPEND A PERSON’S
• DRIVER’S LICENSE, IT DOES NOT HAVE TO DO SO.
• • BEFORE THE COURT SUSPENDS A LICENSE, IT GATHERS INFORMATION ON
THE OFFENSE AND MAKES A DECISION ABOUT IT.
• • PRIOR TO THE COURT’S DECISION TO SUSPEND A LICENSE, THE DRIVER
MADE A DECISION TO VIOLATE THE LAW.
• • WHAT DECISION MIGHT THE DRIVER HAVE MADE?
TRUE POWER LIES IN OUR DECISIONS
• THEREFORE WE NEED TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE BETTER DECISIONS.

• • GET A PART-TIME JOB

• IF GREATER THAN 20 = YOU HAVE A FAIR AMOUNT OF PERSONAL POWER

• UNFORTUNATELY,IN HISTORY POWER HAS BEEN USED FOR NEGATIVE PURPOSES :
ETHNIC CLEANSINGS,GENOCIDES,HATE CRIMES,DICTATORSHIP ETC.
• HOW COULD WE HAVE AVOIDED THE ABOVE ?
• SO WE NEED TO TUNE OUR PERSONAL POWER FOR A POSITIVE CHANGE
• POSITIVE CHANGE TO WHOM ? : OUR OWN LIVES, BUT IN THE LIVES OF THOSE IN
OUR FAMILIES, OUR SCHOOLS, AND OUR COMMUNITIES.

• THINK ABOUT SOMETHING YOU WANT TO CHANGE IN SCHOOL
• DEVISE A PLAN TO USE PERSONAL POWER TO CHANGE IT IN A
POSITIVE WAY
• THINK ABOUT THE SPECIFIC KINDS OF POWER YOU WILL USE
(INTELLIGENCE,DECISION MAKING ETC.)
• FINALLY PRESENT IT TO THE CLASS,MAYBE EVENTUALLY TO THE
DIRECTOR !
CONCLUSION/SUMMARY
• PERSONAL POWER LIES IN THE CHOICES WE MAKE.
• YOUR CHOICES WILL AFFECT YOUR OWN LIFE AND OFTEN
THE LIVES OF OTHERS.

POWER FOR POSITIVE CHANGE • UNFORTUNATELY,IN HISTORY POWER HAS BEEN USED FOR NEGATIVE PURPOSES : ETHNIC CLEANSINGS,GENOCIDES,HATE CRIMES,DICTATORSHIP ETC. • HOW COULD WE HAVE AVOIDED THE ABOVE ? • SO WE NEED TO TUNE OUR PERSONAL POWER FOR A POSITIVE CHANGE • POSITIVE CHANGE TO WHOM ? : OUR OWN LIVES, BUT IN THE LIVES OF THOSE IN OUR FAMILIES, OUR SCHOOLS, AND OUR COMMUNITIES.
