1. Prelim Task, Evaluation
The Prelim task was a really good short project to start us off in
Media to help us get used to editing and making film clips, before
going onto creating films that are longer than 60 seconds. This task
was able to introduce me into using the film cameras properly and
the equipment well to prepare me for bigger projects; this task also
introduced me to ‘Final Cut Express’ and showed me how to use it
affectively for my work.
At the start of this task when we had to plan our film, camera angles
and settings, was the part of this task which I found the most
difficult as it was hard to create a successful film that you would be
able to fit a whole storyline into in 60 seconds. However after we
had created the storyboard and film synopsis, it became easier from
then on. Filming our short movie task was fairly easy, however
getting used to being in front of the camera and trying to take a
short college film serious was hard at first, however towards the end
we began to take it a bit more seriously.
I think we worked really well in this task as our film turned out
successful in the end, with good camera shots and a full storyline in
only 60 seconds. At the moment, I am prepared for more filming
and creating other short films due to a successful end to this task,
however there are still a few details when using the camera which I
know I could improve on when filming again in the future.
