LEGO’S:FALL AND RISE
SUMMARY
Lego is the toy making company which
was introduced in 1932 in DENMARK. In
1934,company came to be called ‘LEGO”
from the Danish phrase “LEG GOBT” which
means play well . This Danish company
was registered in 1958 though it had been
manufacturing blocks since 1932.
IMPACT OF MACRO ENVIRONMENTAL
FACTORS ON LEGO’S DOWNFALL:
1. Cultural change:
Children are much more
attracted to the digital and
technological world.
2. Technological change:
Where 50 years ago, the use of
plastic in a toy may have been
viewed as a highly innovative
idea. Today, the consumer is
much more attracted to
technological toys.
MICRO ENVIRONMENT FACTORS IN
LEGO’S RETURN:
Suppliers / designers:
Company had given designers free hand as a result
different types of Lego blocks rose from 7000 to about
12400 ( in 2004 ).
Customers:
They made blocks for every age group kids. They
can combines 6 blocks in 915 million ways.
ANALYSIS OF LEGO FRIENDS
If we were the marketing manager of Lego
company, we would suggest its CEO to stop Lego
friends as it is matter of ethics and some people
are also begging to stop Lego friends because it is
only made for slim girls.
