2. This video is more concept and performance
based. As the narrative shown doesn’t exactly
match the lyrics, but it all builds up at the end
where everything links together.
3. Nearly all of this video is being used to help
amplify the song and its concept. This is used
especially in the chorus, including a range of other
performers as well as herself.
4. Multiple cuts in the video
Most scenes include Taylor Swift, the lead
singer/performer.
Lots of effects, bright lighting, lots of different
camera shots, contrasting light and dark
colours.
5. Slightly different portrayal of her, instead of her
doing a typical love related song, she’s being
shown as strong and empowered with a fierier
beat and performance. This is still helping to
amplify the song.
6. The video does objectify her slightly because of
particular clothes she is/isn’t wearing, as well as
having full make up. This shows that some of
these shots are there to accentuate her looks.
You could also see this video as empowering as it
shows all the women being strong, and not exactly
focusing on any part of their body. But this can
also be damaging as people may just see women
pitting themselves against each other
7. This video has been shot to look like a film, and it
included many other artists and performers, which
promotes all of them and their music. Aside from
that the only other reference I could see was to
Tron when they are riding the bikes
