13. The questions are about the Southern Ocean food web. To answer them,
you will need to remember what you have learnt about food chains.
1) Name the producer in
the Southern Ocean food
web.
2) Name three consumers
in the food web.
3) Find a food chain with
six organisms in it. (Start
with the producer, and
follow the arrows.) Draw
your food chain.
14. Thinking Map: Researching a Food
Web
Instruction: You are going to find information that will help you to
construct a food web for a habitat in Indonesia.
You will not be able to include every single species in your food web. A
good number to aim for is between 10 and 14.
Make sure there is at least one plant in your food web, at least one
herbivore and at least one carnivore. (A herbivore is an animal that
eats plants. A carnivore is an animal that eats other animals.)
If two or more groups work on the same habitat, you may be able to
pool your results to construct a more complete food web.
