The document discusses the author's research on improving solar energy efficiency. The author's research question is "how to produce an efficient solar power to people?". The thesis is that finding new, cheap materials can help improve solar energy production and the market. Three sources are summarized that discuss using semiconductor vapor to create low-cost solar panels, storing solar energy through chemical processes for longer durations, and creating more efficient solar cells from inexpensive materials like lead. The sources help support the argument that new methods can create more efficient solar power.

Topic Description:
Solar energy is one of the top renewable energy that it is beneficial to
the environment and less harming to it than fossil fuel. My research
will be about expanding the knowledge of the reader about solar
energy, along with methods and ongoing experiments of how to
produce more effective solar energy that help filling peoples’ need.
4. ;
The purpose of the Research:
I choose this topic because oil energy is not going to last forever, and someday
people will start to look up to find another type of energy that satisfy their
desires. Me as an engineer, I have to be one of the first who look for the future
and try to find the solution so the life won’t stop or demolish. The quality of living
right now in most of the world is high compared to the past, now we have cars,
planes, and computers. We can’t just deplete the oil and gas power without
thinking carefully for tomorrow. Engineers, especially electrical engineers
students, as me, have to narrow their insight into one of the main energy
resources that is going to be useful in the future to our daily task. And for me,
solar energy is in the helm of the renewable energy since it is exist from the son.

Research Question :
Solar energy is a new topic to me. To be honest, I don’t know much about it. Yet, I
became interested in the topic when I first searched about a related topic to my
major for ESL. Solar energy is a power that is converted from the sun into a type
of useable power. The problem with this energy that it is still new and it doesn’t
have so much attention from the world since the oil power is enough until now. In
addition, the panels that are used in converting the sunlight into power are
expensive and are not efficient compared to their price and it cannot be stored
for a long time. So my research question will be:
Q; how to produce an efficient solar power to people?

Thesis statement:
finding a new materials that are cheap and beneficial can help improving the
solar energy market and producing.
- To prove that new materials can help facilitate having a low cost solar panels, a
searching process is mandatory. In the next page, three sources are listed to
prove the claim is correct for a brighter future to the sun power

The First source:

According to the article that a new solar plans with less cost and more efficiency can be manufactured
by the use of the vapor that exposes from manufacturing the super semiconductors panels to all
people instead of the normal ones that they have, and by improving this solar panels, the competition
with fossil fuel will be in a new situation since this new material it is going to cost less money
compared to this time. but until this time, this project is still under progress so they are very optimistic
about it.
-This source satisfies all the crap test points since it is from trusted website and correct and the
purpose is to an experiments to produce more efferent solar.
- This source is important in proving that using vapor of super semiconductor can help to produce low
cost panels in the future.

The second Source :

The First source is talking about using chemical elements to store solar energy for much
longer usage with the ability to reuse the oxidation products. For example, using hydrogen
that is extracted from water might effect the ability of panels to store power between their
molecules because chemical elements have the highest density than any other technology.
In addition, solar thermal system is into consideration because its features of storing power
”heat” into chemical bonds instead of the normal batteries that works to move atoms from
place to another.
CRAP TEST :
This article is current as it was published this Year, and it is reliable is it from Carleton
library and is talking about scientific experiment. Also, the accuracy is one part of it as it
explains so much details with explanation. The purpose is to show the they are method to
produce efficient solar power.
11. ;
My evaluation of the source :
* This source is very helpful in searching for a material that can be used to store solar energy for a
longer time. Which is, of course, after studies and experiments, is going to reveal a new discovery that
will change the dependency in fossil fuel into the sunlight. Overall, this article can help me to support
my main question that we can create new methods for more solar power’s efficiency.

- According to the second source (2014) that scientists from South Korea are working in materials
that are collected from lead, which is, has the ability to absorb lights. This technology can convert
10% of sunlight into electricity with a cheaper cost and more efficiency.
- This article fits the CRAP test as it it current (2013) and reliable “from Carleton + the website is only
for academic research” and accurate as it has outputs of the experiments and name of person in
the Korean team

My evaluation:
hough the second source is not long, but it has a very important information that also prove that this
energy can be more efficient and used globally and more widely in the futures.
