3. Why only a place in Rajasthan?
All of us think that Rajasthan is a place
with a very hot climate filled up with sand
and cactus all around.
I also thought the same !! I thought
Rajasthan to look like this :--
But I was wrong. Yeah it is true that its
air contains a lot of sand with it but the
place where I stayed changed my thinking
completely as I could see greenery
everywhere . And that place looked like
this :--
4. On My Way!!!
It was a great experience. Before I begin , I
would like to tell that this tour was a
spiritual one. We went to all places of
Brahma Kumaris in Mount Abu. There
were a total of 7-8 people who were going .
We all were traveling in the same
train(Jammu Tawi). But our family opted
to travel in second class. We were traveling
to attend the shivar. And many people go
there during this time. So we booked the
tickets 3 months prior , still we were in
reservation list. We hoped that we will soon
get the seat but we were wrong . After all
the packing we got a notification that we
could not travel. We started to open
-the bag but one of person who
was going to travel with us
stopped us and said that we can
travel with them in the sleeper
class as they had 4 seats booked
there but the problem was that we
were a total of 7 and we had only
4 seats . But somehow we
managed and were saved from
the fine too. It was a long journey
from 7 p.m to 6 a.m . Because it
was sleeper class all the windows
were open and we all were filled
up with sand in the morning !!
Also our suitcases were filled up
with sand!! But allover it was a
great experience..
5. The place where we lived!!
When we arrived at the station of
Mount Abu we were amazed to see
the service of Brahma Kumaris. Free
of cost buses were there which took
passengers. They worked from 5a.m to
8 p.m because it was an area which
was haunted by bears living in the
nearby forest. We lived in Trilok
Bhawan. Also each and every place of
Brahma Kumaris has the facility of
Filtered water which is a great thing!!
Also the railway station has the
facility of filter water.
6. Emphasis on renewable energy!!
Because it is a hill station it has less
resources . But they have something
more than exhaustible resources. This
place has a large solar power plant too.
The energy of that plant is used for
cooking food in the great kitchens of
Brahma Kumaris . Also the steam and
heat produced during cooking is used to
supply hot water for all the people, who
come there to visit the place and who
live there permanently, and the facility
of hot water is available 24x7 in each
and every room.
8. Dilwara Mandir...
This is a spiritual place of Jainism. There was
a great sculpture made up with Gold , Silver ,
Copper and many more metals. Also there
were a lot of sculptures carved on the pillars.
Each stone had hundreds of sculptures of gods
and goddesses made on it. Also this temple is
more than 1100 years old..
9. Nakki Lake!!
Yeah this place has a lake too!!
Nakki lake is a very special
place to visit in Mount Abu
owing to the fact that Mahatma
Gandhi‘s ashes were immersed
here. The lake is surrounded by
plenty of eating joints catering
to every type of visitor. It is one
of the most popular places to
visit in Mount Abu that you
cannot afford to miss.
10. Asia’s Largest Non-pillared Hall
Yeah you read it all right!! Asia's
Largest non pillared hall is also
situated here. As shown in the pic it
looks very spiritual and so is its
name:Diamond Hall . This hall belongs
to Brahma Kumaris. Also this hall can
hold a gathering of 30,000 people!!
It is believed that god comes in the
body of Daadi Gulzaar and utter their
divine words. Also this place itself is
very calm and spiritual that our mind
feels very relaxed.
11. Infrared- Observatory
There is also an infrared observatory at
the top of the mountain which works for
Indian Space Research Organization.
Due to a clear sky the images captured
by its telescope are one of the best
images. The observatory is at an altitude
of 1680 meters and is adjacent to Guru
Shikhar, highest peak of the Aravalli
Range.
Observations are closed during Indian
monsoon period.
