2. Today I'm gonna be talking about how babies are
created. A week ago we were asked by our teacher to be
paired with the opposite sex. The nine things that we
reviewed and are needed for making babies that I'm
gonna be talking about are : phenotype, gene,
genotype allele, dominate allele, recessive allele,
gametes, sperm and egg and meiosis.
3. phenotype - the physical characteristics or traits of an
organism and can be defined as outward appearance (such
as hair color and texture)
genotype - the genetic composition of an organism. The
actual alleles of each gene carried by the organism.
dominant allele - the expression of the recessive allele is
completely masked.
recessive allele - an allele that is expressed only in
homozygous and is completely masked by dominant allele.
4.
5. genes - is the unit of hereditary, causing all of the
differences in characteristics or traits. And every gene
have two forms represented by upper and lower cases.
allele - one of the different forms of a particular gene.
6.
7.
8. gametes - a haploid sex cell formed in sexually
reproducing organism who are male (sperm cell) and
female (egg cell).
sperm cell and egg cell - has one copy of each gene.
meiosis - a type of cell division in which diploid cell
divides to form with a daughter cell that only has one
copy of each gene.
9.
10. Based on all these things that I mentioned, we should
be interested to know these things in order to be
informed about our offspring, and if we never tried
to discover biology we would never knew about
ourselves and how babies are created.
