NID Design Aptitude Test is a means through which aspirants are shortlisted for admission in UG and PG design courses offered at the prestigious National Institute Design (NID) campuses. Candidates need to clear two NID admission tests in order to be eligible for admission in Bachelor of Design (BDes), Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) and Master of Design (MDes) courses offered at its campuses. Earlier, NID offered admission in its five campuses through NID entrance exam. However, from 2019 onwards two more NID campuses, that is, NID Bhopal and NID Jorhat were added to the list wherein admission was offered in GDPD course on the basis of NID admission test. NID DAT Prelims 2020 is over. The result for NID DAT Prelims for MDes admissions has been announced on February 21 whereas, for BDes/ GDPD, the result were postponed and then declared on May 3, 2020.

the Design Aptitude Test for Bachelor and Master
Degree courses in design.

6. •NID Entrance Exam is conducted by National Institute of
Design (NID) which is internationally acclaimed as one of the
finest educational and research institutions for Industrial,
Communication, Textile and IT Integrated (Experiential) Design.

14. What is the mode of examination for NID DAT prelims?
Answer:
NID DAT 2021 prelims exam will be conducted based on
pen and paper mode.

15. When will we apply for NID and NIFT ??
NIFT usually releases the application form in October. So it can be
anticipated that National Institute of Fashion Technology will release the
application form for NIFT 2021 admission in the month of October. The
examination usually held in January.
National Institute of Design or NID also releases the application form in
the same time as NIFT. As per the Notice NID DAT 2021 Prelims exam
can be held in last week of December, 2020.

16. Am I qualifies or not as i get 39 marks in NID DAT prelims ??
You have not mentioned your category and the course.The NID DAT 2020 cut off is in terms of percentile score.
And here is the 2020 NID DAT 2020 cut off category wise for B.Des

SC/ST/PWD: 45
Overseas: 65
Please check the score card for the percentile and see if you have scored the minimum required cut off percentile to
qualify depending on your category and course.

18. How to go about choosing between Textile design & fashion design? I'm
class 12th student, Should I appear for UCEED, NIFT or NID DAT
Entrance exam?
The creative, The soft side, The craft side of design also in accessories & also there
in communication design and also there in Fashion & Textile design.
Look again what do you like as a career.
Would you like to work with Cloths, Accessories that has a lot of soft hand touch &
feel and you don’t need to be on factory shop.
So my suggestion is look at career, look at the kind of things they do & then choose,
If you are very clear that you want to work with Textile or Fashion.
Both are the very good options, The people who are working with Textile & Fashion
