2. Finding & Checking out a book can be a
breeze if your have past experience in the
library.
Without any knowledge of a library, simple
tasks can become difficult for some.
Hopefully from following these steps it will
help someone through the tasks of checking
out any book from the library.
3. Locate the Computer Station.
Why?
Interview: You will need to use the computer
station to use the library catalog, where all
the books present can be found. UWG Library
Catalog Site: http://www.westga.edu/library/
Next, type in the title of the text your looking
for in the search bar of the library catalog.
What is the purpose of this?
Interview: To see if the Library has the book.
Then, if the Library has the text, in the
description it will list the text’s Call Number.
You will then need to write down that Call
number.
For What?
Interview: It will help guide you to find the
book throughout the library.
4. The library organizes it’s books by their
call numbers keeping all books in order.
Find the section of the library where
your book’s call number is located
Why? Interview: This is how you find
what row and shelf to look, to find
exactly where the book is placed. This
makes the process quick and simple.
Once you Locate the section, start
skimming through the shelves to find
your book’s call number.
Why? Interview: this step will help get your
hands on the text you need.
Once you found the text, grab it off the
shelf for checkout.
5. These are the final steps of the process
of checking out a book.
Now you need to locate the Check
Out Desk
What does the Check out desk do?
Interview: This is where the book can
be checked out the library.
Next give the librarian your school ID
or Library card, so you know when
the expire date to return the book.
Why do they need my school ID card
for?
Interview: This will allow the library to
know who has what specific book, for
lost or stolen purposes.
Once you get your text back along
with your ID card, you now have
successfully check out the book.
