Three levels: Foundation, Higher
and Advanced. The TOLES series
are no-fail exams, meaning that you
will always get a certificate that
details your level.

7. SEMINAR SYSTEM
O A SET OF COPIES AVAILABLE AT THE COFFEE
SHOP (Toles book)
O Every week: a) One Lesson (explanation of the
topics) b) One Toles unit c) Extra activities (videos,
audios) d) At the end of e.unit: a mandatory «trabajo
pràctico» which you have to pass with 60 %.
O Every 2 units (appr. 30 or 40 days) a mid-term exam
O You can attend classes personally or not.
O In July and November: 2 final exams.
O There will be two certificates: MODULE 1 . MODULE
2.
O At the end of the year: possibility to sit for TOLES.

11. The plot
O Philadelphia is the story of a brilliant lawyer "Andrew
Beckett" (peak of his career) played by Tom Hanks who is
unjustly fired because he has AIDS. Andrew is defended (in
the case against the lawyers who have fired him before) by
"Joe Miller" played by Denzel Washington, who initially
shows indifference to the cause, but then becomes
sensitive to Andrew and decides to defend him.
Also co-starring Jason Robards, Mary Steenburgen,
Antonio Banderas, Joanne Woodward.
Directed by Jonathan Demme.
Tom Hanks, thanks to this extraordinary performance, won
his first Academy Award
