3. Data Source
This report is based on data collected from around 5,000 Windows Store apps running
AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher). The raw data analyzed was collected over the day of
August 22nd, 2017 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated.
We have made every attempt to consolidate different reported phone model names
under their canonical retail model names, but it is possible that some of the rare model
name variations were not accounted for.
AdDuplex is the largest cross-promotion network for Windows Store apps and games
empowering developers and publishers to promote their apps for free by helping each
other. AdDuplex was established in January 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania. As of August
2017, more than 10,000 apps actively use AdDuplex to gain more visibility.

cadence is still lagging
behind that of the previous
Anniversary Update.

manufacturers are on a
similar Creators Update
share as the overall market.
Dell, Microsoft and MSI have
crossed the 70% mark,
though.

behind the overall average,
but it’s in the top 3 this month

Last month Surface Pro 3
was a clear outlier with less
than 20% of SP3s running
Creators Update. This month
it shot up dramatically and
evened out CU share with
the overall market – with over
60% now running the latest
public version of Windows.

Surface Pro 4 continues to
dominate the Surface line up
and it’s usage share
increased by another 1.8%
since last month – most likely
due to special offers and
price cuts around the release
of its younger sibling Surface
Pro.
The new Surface Pro added
1.3% and outnumbered the
old Surface Pro 2. Surface
Laptop went up by 0.8%
more than doubling its share
from last month.
