If you are to produce a successful artefact it is essential that you are prepared to be flexible
in the production of your work. You should begin to think about possible problems you
may encounter whilst working and consider how you would solve these problems whilst
working. List some possible problems and their solutions in the table below. There is
guidance on doing this on page 84 of the Student Book.
Potential problem How this could be solved
Not enough material Plan how much material is needed and have extra
just in case.
Limited material Make sure you bring extra material.
Artefact may break Make sure the artefact is kept in a safe place.
Planning may be destroyed/lost/stolen Make sure your plans are backed up – electronic
version, paper document and on USB/internet

Artefact may be stolen Have a model artefact as backup
