Discussing Your Project ideas
Student book (pp 246 -49)
Use this sheet to help you identify which project ideas will work and which are best left alone. First,
write down the strengths and weaknesses of each idea, then try to identify what things will help you
to develop your ideas and what things might stand in your way.
PROJECT TITLE: Noughts & Crosses Fashion Show
FORMAT: Textiles, performance and images.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Young girls and women
STRENGTHS
Identify the good things about this idea
The good thing about this idea is that it
is a good project that will interest my
target audience.
Another positive thing about this idea is
that my project shows my creativity.
Other things about my project that
could be considered good is that in my
fashion show I have 4 different themes
which portray different identities and
purposes.
WEAKNESSES
Identify the problems with this idea
If I do not manage my time well and I am
un-organised this idea can collapse and fail.
I’m going to need money to fund all the
material, so I am going to have to organise
some way of fund raising.
It’s a very complicated task to carry out.
OPPORTUNITIES
Identify what will help you to develop the idea
There is a developing fashion designer in
my local area, I can book a visit to her
and interview her to get some
inspiration and advice.
There is a fashion workshop in my local
area that I can attend and improve on
my garment making skills as well as my
designing skills.
In my school there is a teacher that can
help me get hold of the materials I need
within my budget.
THREATS/BARRIERS
Identify things that might hinder its development
Working with other people can sometimes
be a bit difficult as they have other
priorities so they may not me able to come
to every rehearsal.
My event will have to happen around the
end of this year or beginning of next year,
which could be difficult especially booking
a venue as many events and performances
happen around them times.
If I can’t make the garments on time then
this project will fail.
