15. Learning and Observation
• Unemployment is a huge problem in our society. In our
state, work participation is only 35.8%. One the other hand
demand for skilled manpower has increased many folds in
the recent years. But when we went for CMD, it is a real
challenge to motivate the youths to take up skill training.
This is indeed a great learning experience.
• During home visit for CMD usually we meet a gate keeper
of the community. The gate keeper introduces us with the
key person of the community. It is very much important to
be cautious while getting introduced by the gate keeper. If
the gate keeper has a negative profile in the
community, we invite negative response from the key
person as well as the community. This was another
heartening learning experience.
16. Learning and Observation Continues…………..
• To get any desired result from any task, planning is integral
part of the programme. While working with the community
mobiliser, it was observed that lack of monthly activity plan
hampers the desired output.
• During Case Studies, it was practically understood how
significant is to maintain the clients confidentiality. As well
as acceptance of the clients also important.
• Practically observed the group dynamics during Alumni
Association’s Advisory committee meeting.
• The concept of Alumni Association for a skill training
institute was very much new. But after observing the
mission, vision and activities, it is learned that Alumni
Association can play vital role in the whole process of
livelihood education.
17. Recommendation
• Take appropriate strategies (Baseline survey, house hold
type, residential status, educational facilities etc) to identify
the feeder locality to avoid approaching non target
communities. At least train up the Community Mobiliser to
identify the feeder locality and key contact persons.
• Involve government machinery like PRIs, Development
Offices for community mobilisation drive.
• Approach the start up NGOs in urban as well as rural area
for CMD.
• Prepare DO’s and DONT’s for community mobiliser for
communication
and
mobilisation
drive.
This
is
significant, because community mobiliser represents Aide et
Action and iLEAD in the grass root level.
• Make the necessary changes in the CMD Poster.
18. Recommendation Continues……….
• Convene the General Body Meeting as soon as possible and
elect a new executive committee.
• Make the necessary changes in Alumni Association’s bylaws
• Prepare a yearly activity plan for the Association
19. Reflection of Theories in Practice
• Group Dynamic: Some participants in the group were very
much active and some were almost silent listeners.
• Individualization: Every person is unique in his/her
nature. This theory was reflected during counseling and
case studies. Everyone has their own way of life and unique
problem and prospect.
• Clients Right to Self Determination: Client (youth) has
his/her right to take the final decision. Being a SSW helping
him locate himself and to introduce with the available
options.
• During case studies, principle of clients confidentiality
got clearly reflected.
20. Limitations
• One month is too less to explore the learning possibilities
• Couldn’t meet all the functionaries of Alumni Association
• Couldn’t complete the INC programme within the time
frame (Final Discussion will be held in the second week of
next month, SSW will shall be present)
