 CTIE saw CPU processing efficiencies of about 5-10% with the
combination of z/OS V2.1 with their new zBC12, a welcome
benefit especially given the new processor functions*
 To improve batch processing, CTIE used the new batch parallel
recall function to help relieve pressure on batch processing

Luxembourg government, providing planning
assistance and coordination for various government
bodies. CTIE supports a broad range of
administrative functions with support for over 218M

as well as a GDPS configuration for failover. CTIE found that

Improved operational experience
Endress+Hauser commented on several
improvements that resonated. The use of System
Symbols in job control language, ISPF improvements
and wild card searches help simplify the work of a
systems programmer.
Data set parallel recall in the data facility hierarchical
storage manager is another beneficial feature to
improve batch performance.

Superior availability and performance
With z/OS V2.1, Endress+Hauser noticed that
certain workloads required less CPU to execute. For
instance, sort CPU consumption was reduced.
Coupling Facility enhancements helped
Endress+Hauser rebuild their CF structures in the
right priority order to help improve availability.

The ability to use dynamic symbols, making it easier to keep the system up without disruption was a greatly appreciated feature. CTIE is the central IT service provider for the Luxembourg government, providing planning assistance and coordination for various government bodies.
