EVALUATION 3 - HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA
TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION
AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND
EVALUATION STAGES?
2. Youtube was one of the most important
websites that I used for research purposes.
In order to develop my analysis on artists
from the same genre as S.Dot it was
essential that I went onto Youtube to look at
their music videos and develop my
understanding on the conventions of music
videos from the UK Rap genre. Youtube
was the easiest video search engine to use
because it has a huge range of content and
the content is easy to share and embed
onto other technologies.
3. Once the embed link was copied I was able to
paste it into the HTML tab on blogger.
Once the COMPOSE
button has been selected
you will be able to see and
play your embedded video.
All of the presentational devices that I used on my blog have embed codes provided so it was easy for me to upload different
technologies onto my blog.
4. I used S.Dot’s Twitter account constantly to keep
his fans and my teachers up to date with the
processes that were taking place in the making
of the music video. I uploaded photosets and
videos of the production and post production
stages and I even included videos of my target
audience giving feedback on the music video
after watching it in the cinema.
5. I also made an Instagram account for S.Dot so that he can reach his fans across different media platforms. It is also
conventional for Artists to have an instagram account because it is a very popular social media platform that is used by millions
globally Therefore it would make sense for S.Dot to have an instagram account of his own in order to build up his recognition
and reach a wider mass audience.
6. Social media is heavily relied on by artists within S.Dot’s genre because a lot of them are
independent artists and do not have the support of a major record label to market and brand
them. In addition social media is quick, easy, efficient and has millions of people using it so it is
a useful device that the artists can use to market themselves.
7. 1.) In order to upload
the pictures and videos
onto the Twitter
account I had to use
the twitter app that I
already had installed
onto my phone.
To upload I clicked
onto the COMPOSE
icon located on the top
right corner of the
profile page.
2.) This is what
comes up. I then
clicked on the
camera icon to open
my camera roll.
3.) I then selected the video
that I wanted and clicked
done and then tweet.
4.) The video has now
been successfully
uploaded onto the
Twitter account
8. I was able to upload the content that I tweeted onto
my blog by using the EMBED TWEET option.
9. State of the art cameras
were used to film the
music video. Before we
turned the camera on to
film we had to insert the
two memory cards into the
camera – one of to record
and one for back up.
10. 1.) To create my website I used a template on the Wix website
underneath the Hip Hop artist category.
2.) I clicked on the edit button and the template
came up in a different tab.
3.) I then replaced all of the default information and
images with the information and images that I had
related to my artist.
