2. Style sheet
MoontellsFor the cover
This font is nice for the
inside of my book. Its
not too fussy whilst
having a classical style
I want the colours to create a
classic fairytale aesthetic. This
means using a mix of light and
bold colours. Main colours are
blues, reds, green, brown and
white/grey.
for the cover I want it to look classical
yet bright. I don't want it to look dull.
To make it look more classical I will
carefully choose fonts and
illustrations that fits
To make the
book look more
classical ill add in
details such as
this border.
3. Style sheet
I'm going to have my illustrations mostly black and white, which
a pop of colour here and there. This is because firstly I think it
look appealing and secondly it references illustrations in classic
fairytales. It will give the book a mix of old fashion and modern
aesthetic
The images I'm going to be using in this book are
going to be pictures I've taken edited to fit the story.
This will mean it will be heavily edited in Photoshop.
Because its mostly black and white I'm will have to
focus a lot on making the image look just right with
the right amount of colour and shading.
I want to create surreal picture and really make the
reader feel like the story is coming to life.
4. Style sheet
I want my pop ups to add to the look
of the page/picture. However I don't
want to overuse it or put it in where
it doesn't need to be.
I am going to use different style pop
ups to get different effects. Such as
getting things to just out like
building or scenery, or having things
revealed under flaps.
I like the idea of thins
sticking out of the page
like this
5. Book of wonders
the book that I am going to create is fictional novel with pop-ups instead if illustrations.
I want there to be a mix of different things, like the way I tell the story. On some pages
it will be more traditional, and then on others it will tell the story through a poem.
Having a mix of different art forms matches the book title.
The story is about a little girl who find a book on the ground, when she touches it she
gets trapped inside the book, and is on a journey to find her way back out again.
I'm planning on having a mix of my own original ideas and referencing classic fairytales.
Since my main character is trapped inside it makes sense that she is transported into
different classic fairytales.
Going back to the content, want there to be more writing then pop-ups, and make sure
that the pop-ups I make are well thought out and are at a high standards. I want there
to be lots of writing because my target audiences main critique when asked what
made pop-ups unappealing was that it had little writing.
By following this plan it makes sure that there is a good amount of writing and
illustration to satisfy my audience.
To write this book I am going to use word. To deign the pages I'm going to draw them
out first and then after I've got the pictures I need i will edit them on Photoshop. And
to put it all together I'm going to use InDesign
6. Layout 1-intorduction

Presenting:
book of
wonders.
For my introduction page I
want to keep it clean and
simple. Including the
boarder is a nice detail as
it suggest that the book
will have a classic
simplistic design.
I think its also important
to include a little bit of
information on when it
was made and who made
it.
7. Production process
• write the story

• Edit the photos
• Put the story and pictures in InDesign

stick, one drive)
I break my camera use phone camera instead

Depending on how ill I am, I can do as much

Photoshop keeps crashing find other platforms to edit my pictures on.
My camera battery runs out halfway

Explore colours, fonts and image styles similar to what you want to produce. Discuss all three elements in relation to why you chose them and where you may use them in your project. Go over as many pages as you need to
Mock up of a potential design using the colours and fonts established in your style sheet and sourced images
