Who are our interviewees?
1. WHO ARE OUR INTERVIEWEES?
+
WHY DID WE CHOSE THEM?
Mary Potter
2. FINANCIAL EMPLOYER- STEVE BROWN
We chose to interview Steve Brown, head of
specialist services at Consumer Loans Company as
our expert interview. Being at a high level in such
an important industry of finance, we thought it
would be beneficial and interesting to have his
views of how tattoos are perceived in the workplace
and in particular that kind of environment.
3. TATTOOISTS
We had also wished to have an expert interview
with a tattooist from the Ink Shack, Solihull to see
how they found their way and whether they had
experienced or seen prejudice regarding tattoos as
they work around them every day. After I visited
their shop on 3 separate occasions they seemed
uninterested as their was no progression from their
part, perhaps they were too busy, we aren’t quite
sure as their reason was not conveyed.
Unfortunately we found ourselves unable to attain
this desired footage.
4. TATTOO ENTHUSIASTS
We decided to give the documentary some
substance it would be great to include people who
have many tattoos themselves. As they live the life
we are discussing which includes the employment
factor, and the stereotyping that goes with perhaps
prejudice or discrimination due to tattoos. As we do
not have tattoos ourselves being under aged, we
can only comment from what we see and research
we have done, however they have the experience
behind them, therefore are our case studies.
5. VOXPOP FOOTAGE
As well as using structured interviews we decided
to use voxpops to get a general public opinion as
well. We used students from the sixth form to see
what their views are, whether they think
employment should be affected by this choice or
whether there are still stereotypes even though our
generation has grown up with them all in the media.
A variety of questions asked including whether they
would have one and why as well as celebrity
tattoos. However they will be cut down, this
probably will only be a small portion of the
documentary to help break up the interviews and
quickly get short and sweet opinions.
