We divided the project area with axles in the
region. Landscape axle, green texture axle,
transportation axle are some of the axles used.

With the reference taken from the axles, a gre-
en texture was created on the project area.

Designed for families, the bungalows were
placed in the project area to create com-
mon areas. Lobby and restaurant were de-
signed parallel to the transportation axis
to support bungalows and provide control.

concept
The nostalgic city of the black sea, which is the project area, is a pla-
ce with very valuable contexts. Its green texture and historical struc-
ture are some of these contexts. the bungalows to be designed in this
area with a rustic atmosphere should have belonged completely. wo-
oden trusses in the role of the carrier system used in the design were
the main factors in the formation of the desired rustic atmosphere.

With the 2020-20 theme, we were asked to work in the polar
regions, and accordingly, the land seen above on the island
of Greenland was selected. In the selection of this land; The
strong relationship of the land with the sea and the high
alluvial soil were among the important factors. In addition,
the ice pieces on the sea in the land were considered as
mineral storage. It offered convenient areas for energy pro-
duction thanks to its being a large and uninhabited place.
‘‘ As a result of global warming, the world has warmed by 0.7 degrees and oceans have
risen 20 cm in the last hundred years. This rising water level will leave 300 million coas-
tal people homeless by 2050.”
In this context, the idea of ​​
creating an alternative living space could be an investment in
the future. A commune of 100 people from different cultures was created. In this way,
a new cultural self in which different cultures live in the designed living space would be
created. An energy efficient system was considered for the commune life created.

A sphere-centered project, which is the
most stable geometric form in terms of
heat conservation, was considered and
decks extending according to functions

phitheater, is also designed for the use of various activities. In this square, which is di-
rectly connected to the inner garden, it is aimed to create a pleasant environment that
allows people to socialize.

europe is a continent where the concept of border differs in political, geographical,
cultural and social contexts. This boundary concept can be sharp in some places and
blurred in some places. one of the regions where this state of the continent is experi-
enced most obvious and current and the process still continues todayis formerly yugo-
slavia. this region is the geography that hosts many different countries today. due to this
variable structure of the region, yugoslavia was seen as the most suitable place for im-
proving the concept. in this context, the factor of the river in the region and existing in
many different cities of europe was consideredto relate to the project’s border concept.
for these reasons, it was focused on the sava river, which is located within the borders
of yugoslavia. It was noticed that the river sava has an important place in the cultural,
political and architectural contexts of the region. moreover it was observed that in 300
km of the borders between the countries, it passes through the sava river.

after the concept and idea decisions, the project phase was started. during the
project phase, a route along the river has been determined in order to experi-
ence the potential of the sava within its users. along this route, research centers
that explore different aspects of sava and clean water are located. he focus of
each of these research centers was determined by considering their context.
9 different project areas were determined with this method. separate main ide-
as were determined for each project. As the common point of all projects, the con-
cept of experiencing sava river is emphasized. In this way, it is aimed that the us-
ers following the route will experience different aspects of the river sava.

the 9th station being the last sta-
tion of the sava project was effec-
tive in location selection. in ad-
dition attention was paid to high
human density in the land to be de-
termined in order to create aware-
ness for sava. in these contexts, a
public area near the touristic are-
as of the city was identified in the
savamala region of belgrade. The
new and old railroads within the
designated land made it easier to
connect with the rest of the concept.
while considering the land, the boundaries formed
by the land were emphasized. instead of taking
the border where sava and land come into contact
as a single shoreline, it was deemed appropriate
to separate the borders of the river and the land.
while the project was positioned, the two borders were
stretched and deformed. through this stretch, an un-
limited space created by two boundaries was creat-
ed. the project was positioned in the created space.
movement to water was considered for investigate
and clean the sava. therefore an organic shell was
created. through this movement water was added to
the public space considered on the roof of the project
the water on the roof was lowered to the project
level through a round hole created on the roof.
through this movement, a waterfall that could be
perceived inside and outside the project was created
the filter system that will allow the water to be
cleaned on the ground of the waterfall was consid-
ered. the cycle was completed by transferring the
water filtered through the pipes back to the shell.

while the project was being considered, it was thought to create a layered
structure and that each layer could be experienced by the users. in this con-
text, shell, pipe and wall layers were created in the project. rather than imitat-
ing each other, these layers are designed to suit their own material and nat-
ural usage, only the contact and separation points are designed separately.

the amphi, which follows the green texture in the
project area, is designed to observe the project
shell and the river. the amphi was constructed as
an empty exhibition wall and a canopy area. the
elevationthatconnectstheprojectwiththeramps
to the public space is intended for multi-purpose
use. a slit was opened to the experience center
using the topograraphic motion of the project
shell and it was designed as an entrence. this
entrance is designed as a space that articulates
the public square. a perforated platform was
placed inside the waterfall where the pipes came
out of the project. in this way, the waterfall was
designed as the heart of the experience center.
it was thought that the pipes circulating indoors
would form a cloud of water on the shell. the
public space created on the shell was thus used
as part of the experience center. after these
placements, the interior design was reached.
in the interior design of the project, pipes capa-
ble of circulating water were used. These pipes
were placed to allow water from the waterfall
to be experienced indoors as well. Pipes used
in different elevations were sometimes used as
furnishing, sometimes as ingredient. it was im-
portant that visual contact with the waterfall
was not blocked in any area. in this direction,
glass walls were used in the laboratory area lo-
cated next to the waterfall. The exhibition space
was designed with pipes on the right side of the
wall, which did not block physical contact with
the river. the water cave, constructed with pipes,
was designed as an area of experience. water
was thought to physically enter the space in this
area. social spaces have been set up next to
the waterfall in order to support interior design.

SURVEYING AND RESTORATION
village ‘salın, kızılcahamam’
Documentation work was carried out in the salın village of Kizilcahamam, where old
wooden and stone houses were struggling to survive. The wooden and stone houses
in Salın village were photographed individually with their inventory numbers. Layout
plans of the houses on the land were documented and sketch drawings were made.
Photographs of the facades were taken and an appropriate typological table was cre-
ated. The survey was taken for the buildings that can be accessed and the plan typol-
ogy was created. Wooden doors and windows belonging to the village were photo-
graphed, drawings were made and tables were created according to their typology.
The texture of these wooden and stone buildings of Salın village was documented with
photographs and measured drawings.
For Salın village, we can talk about the historical atmosphere of Safranbolu and Bey-
pazarı houses. For this reason, we can say that many buildings that are about to col-
lapse and can be considered as ruins are in need of protection and repair.

The researches and discussions in Europe have shown us the concept of “border”, which
is highly felt in Europe. In this context, we can talk about the concept of border in dif-
ferent dimensions. Political boundary, geographical boundary, religion, language, race
boundary, etc. It is possible to talk about boundaries that change depending on time,
place and person. At this point, in our estalation work, we focused on the boundaries that
are formed and disappeared with the perspective of the person. In an area with heavy
human circulation, tea plates were hung from above with a roller system. The person who
will be in this area was asked to experience the inner and outer convex reflections. A Eu-
ropean collage was prepared and covered on a fabric on the system created. In this way,
reflections and shadows would be more expressive in the atmosphere created within the
system. Every person passing through this field would be able to experience these limits
from their own perspective and change the existing borders. The reflection of culture,
politics, art, sports and many other selves in Europe could be experienced in this process.

In this course, which is the last step of the building lessons of Gazi University, Depart-
ment of Architecture, the wedding hall was studied. We were asked to sit on the sloping
land given in Çukurambar. The functions that a modern wedding hall should have have
been the elements that shape our designs. In this course, the building information and
system details required to bring our designs to life were taught. The building systems
we built have been moved to the capacity to be an application project in a critical line.

  • 14. concept disintegration of yugoslava the role of the sava river potential of sava river high flow minerals bioversity europe is a continent where the concept of border differs in political, geographical, cultural and social contexts.   • 18. the amphi, which follows the green texture in the project area, is designed to observe the project shell and the river. the amphi was constructed as an empty exhibition wall and a canopy area. the elevationthatconnectstheprojectwiththeramps to the public space is intended for multi-purpose use. a slit was opened to the experience center using the topograraphic motion of the project shell and it was designed as an entrence. this entrance is designed as a space that articulates the public square. a perforated platform was placed inside the waterfall where the pipes came out of the project. in this way, the waterfall was designed as the heart of the experience center. it was thought that the pipes circulating indoors would form a cloud of water on the shell. the public space created on the shell was thus used as part of the experience center. after these placements, the interior design was reached. in the interior design of the project, pipes capa- ble of circulating water were used. These pipes were placed to allow water from the waterfall to be experienced indoors as well. Pipes used in different elevations were sometimes used as furnishing, sometimes as ingredient. it was im- portant that visual contact with the waterfall was not blocked in any area. in this direction, glass walls were used in the laboratory area lo- cated next to the waterfall.   • 21. SURVEYING AND RESTORATION village ‘salın, kızılcahamam’ Documentation work was carried out in the salın village of Kizilcahamam, where old wooden and stone houses were struggling to survive. The wooden and stone houses in Salın village were photographed individually with their inventory numbers. Layout plans of the houses on the land were documented and sketch drawings were made. Photographs of the facades were taken and an appropriate typological table was cre- ated. The survey was taken for the buildings that can be accessed and the plan typol- ogy was created. Wooden doors and windows belonging to the village were photo- graphed, drawings were made and tables were created according to their typology. The texture of these wooden and stone buildings of Salın village was documented with photographs and measured drawings. For Salın village, we can talk about the historical atmosphere of Safranbolu and Bey- pazarı houses. For this reason, we can say that many buildings that are about to col- lapse and can be considered as ruins are in need of protection and repair.
