3. What is a TEAM?
A team can be defined as “collection of people with
purpose and commitment to working together”

4. 4 Main types of teams
• Formal team
• Informal team
• Temporary team
• Permanent team

5. Formal Team
Is a structured team, created for specific purpose. It
will have a leader and everybody within the team will
have a distinct role.
Example: Football team

6. Informal Team
It is a team which has no structure and everybody
within the team has equal status. They often come
together by chance. An informal team provides an
opportunity for everybody to work together.
Example: a group of friends might arrange a holiday
together.

7. Temporary Team
It is a team that have been set up for a specific
reason for a short period of time. They split after the
task had been successfully completed.
Example: Road Contractors

8. Permanent Team
Is a team who works together continuously on a day
to day bases.
Example: Garda
