4. Causative Verbs
A causative verb is used to indicate that someone causes
someone else to do something.
Note: With causative verbs, there are tow subjects(the causer and the
doer).
Structure:
The causer + causative verb + the doer + full infinitive/bare infinitive + object/complement.
Example:
1. He gets his brother to do his homework.
2. He made his brother buy a car.

Let: permit or allow someone to do something
Make: force or require someone to do something
Have: convince, give someone a responsibility to do
something
Get: request, convince someone to do something
Help: assist someone to do something
7. Examples
Let: She let them play outside.
Make: I made Laila polish my shoes.
Have: She will have her husband wash the clothes.
Help: I help the students learn English.
Get: She will get her children to go to school.
Help: I help the students to learn English.
