The causatives are the verbs that are used to indicate that
one person causes another person to do something for
the first person. Or one can cause somebody to do
something for him/her by asking, paying, requesting, or
forcing the person.
Subjects in causative verbs do not do the action by
themselves but someone else does it for them.
The causative verbs are: HAVE, GET, MAKE and LET.
Kausatif adalah kata kerja yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan bahwa satu orang
menyebabkan orang lain melakukan sesuatu untuk orang pertama. Atau seseorang dapat
menyebabkan seseorang melakukan sesuatu untuknya dengan meminta, membayar, memohon,
atau memaksa orang tersebut. Subjek dalam kata kerja kausatif tidak melakukan tindakan itu
sendiri tetapi orang lain melakukannya untuk mereka.
Kata kerja penyebab adalah: HAVE, GET, MAKE dan LET.

(Future)

ACTIVE : HAVE (is used to give someone the
responsibility to do something.

4. I had the engine repaired (Past)
5. I have my roof fixed (Present)

MAKE: MAKE is stronger than ‘have/get’. It
constitutes only one structure as it does not
take anything ‘PASSIVE’ as its object.

3. The teacher will let the students discuss among
themselves (Future)

LET: ‘Let’ means ‘allow/permit’ but
the use of ‘let’ in the sentence is
different from these words.
