This document discusses parts of speech and provides examples and definitions of verbs and adverbs. It defines verbs as words that assert something about a person or thing. There are four types of verbs discussed: transitive, intransitive, auxiliary, and lexical. Transitive verbs pass action to an object, while intransitive verbs do not. Auxiliary verbs are helping verbs used to express tense, mood, or voice. Adverbs are words that add meaning to verbs. There are five types of adverbs discussed: manner, time, place, frequency, and degree. Examples are provided for each type of adverb.
