CV TIPS
1) Presentation
1) Make sure your CV fits in one page.
2) Use a professional email – firstname.lastname@domain.com instead of
sweetpie@yahoo.com, or mrlover@gmail.com
3) Always add information in descending order. Most recent experience should be first.
4) Send CV to employer in PDF version.
5) Avoid at all cost typo mistakes
6) Either date of birth or age.
7) Last name in capital
8) (Optional) Add a recent formal photo
2) Work Experience
1) Add skills that are relevant to the job you are applying for. This should not be static.
Update your CV accordingly.
2) Emphasize on your working experience. Highlight contribution to business and scope of
operations and achievements.
3) Education
1) Show only what is important. The past 2 or 3 achievements.
2) Description of end of year project if relevant to the work you are applying.
4) CV for first job/little or no experience?
1) Filler – Not much experience – Showcase proficiency in language and softwares.
2) Short bio (What are you passionate about, how do you want to contribute)
5) Other awards and achievements
6) Memberships
7) Specific – quotes – books – hobbies (reading) – Quote you live by
9) A reference from one of your mentor (Ideal if the mentor is famous or respected in your field)

society and foster self-sustaining communities.
ABOUT US
Founded in 2013, Youth S.C.E.A.L is a youth led
organisation with the overarching aim to be a platform
of information and services fostering self-sustaining
communities through capacity building of its inhabitants
(specially the youth) and promotion of education and
entrepreneurship. S.C.E.A.L. stands for Social Change
through Education/Entrepreneurship & Active
Leadership. Arising from the profound belief in the
important role played by the youth in driving community
development and the younger generation power to
bring innovative ideas essential to a healthy evolution of
society, Youth S.C.E.A.L, aims at becoming an entity
facilitating youth access to resources. More engaged,
empowered, the Mauritian youth can and will
unquestionably make a difference in our generation.
OUR APPROACH
Willing to counter the sizeable school dropout prevailing in underprivileged communities, Youth S.C.E.A.L
delivers information sessions about existing opportunities and develop a support mechanism to accompany the
young person in his/her journey. Lack of awareness of existing opportunities being one of the major reasons
promoting school dropout, through our sessions, we encourage the youth to become skilled professionals
through the showcase of pathways towards future careers. In addition to initiatives aiming to bridge the existing
literacy gap, we run initiatives that are geared towards the promotion of youth driven entrepreneurial ventures
and consequently, the development of the local entrepreneurial eco-system.

EKLERAZ PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project is segmented into 3 main components called GAP :-
G – Gid, for career guidance and advice pertaining to career choices/availability based on economic outlook
(and TEC recommendations) and existing facilities (mainly financial) supporting access to higher studies.
A – Anplwa, profiling of unemployed people (specially the unemployed youth) and link them to openings in
various companies or organization of job fairs (with prospective job that fit the set of skills identified during
the profiling of each unemployed individual) to facilitate access to employment.
P – Paspor, focusing here on employability of young Mauritians. Fundamentals of CV writing and grooming
for interviews. Beyond development of essential skills to be more employable, young people will be trained to
job hunt.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Overall objective
• Economic empowerment of Mauritian youth
through education and employment.
Specific objective
• Be a platform of information supporting
Mauritian youth to pursue higher studies and
getting employed.
• Boost employability of unemployed
individuals living in vulnerable regions and
facilitate access to employment.
