1. Marketing Assistant
Ashoka mission is to shape a global, entrepreneurial and competitive citizen sector that

network of more than 3,000 Ashoka Fellows - world’s leading social entrepreneurs in
more than 73 countries. Already the largest global network of thought and change leaders across every issue
area imaginable, the Ashoka Fellowship continues to grow at an even more rapid pace as we strive to create an
Everyone a Changemaker world. To this end, Ashoka seeks to strengthen its East Africa program by adding to the
team a dynamic, self-motivated, entrepreneurial and highly skilled Marketing Assistant.
The responsibilities: You will be required to (1) develop marketing material, (2) help organize round-tables
among Ashoka Fellows and the citizen sector, (3) build and manage Ashoka’s online presence and Fellowship
communications, and (4) creatively and strategically add to our array of publications and design templates, (5)
mapping key fields and sectors, writing blog posts, media alerts, and reports.
Skills required:
Self-starter; ability to carry-out projects with minimum supervision
Strong entrepreneurial track record
Good organizational and planning skills
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
Ability to work on under pressure and to deadlines
Good attention to details and accuracy
Graphic design skills required (experience using Photoshop and InDesign)
Strong time-management and interpersonal skills required
Web design skills and experience highly desirable
Good knowledge of Marketing techniques
Basic knowledge of accounting, financial management
Kiswahili and English fluency required
The Marketing Assistant will gain substantive, hands-on experience in the East African citizen sector and leading
social entrepreneur networks. This is a paid, full-time position 40 Hours per week, based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Start date is immediate.
