Identifies hardware functional test specifications will be excuted for Last Gasp Module, which is an
energy storage device capable to provide temporarily enough power supply (10W) to keep the DCN
product running for about 30 seconds in order to transmit a “Last Gasp” alert message to the utility
company back end system software in the case of a main power outage.
1) Customer product functional description analysis-10W energy storage module capable to provide
temporarily enough power supply (300J) to system.
2) Test procedure/report creation: Firmware design review & simulation, test set up reverse
engineering analysis, test procedure/test report creation.
3) Technology assumption and design risk evaluation: Evaluate design risk for customer such as
Design Failure Mode and Effective Analysis.
9. Dialyzer control system simulation: 12/2013-01/2014
1) Algorithm Design: Dialyzer flow path during treatment system module simulation. Trapezoidal
speed loop control for BLDC motor simulation. One-Phase On, full step speed control for bipolar
step motor. Import Test Results such as Time, Flow, and Pressure as reference for dialyzer system
loop simulation from Signal Builder in Matlab SIMULINK.

1) Description of Design: A switched-mode power supply with the single-phase AC (120V, 60Hz)
input voltage source and a controlled DC voltage (5V) output
2) Algorithm Design: Power factor correction (PFC) and output voltage PI regulator is designed in

DFMEA/ Test procedure report for 10W energy storage module: 12/2013-01/2014 Identifies hardware functional test specifications will be excuted for Last Gasp Module, which is an energy storage device capable to provide temporarily enough power supply (10W) to keep the DCN product running for about 30 seconds in order to transmit a “Last Gasp” alert message to the utility company back end system software in the case of a main power outage. 1) Customer product functional description analysis-10W energy storage module capable to provide temporarily enough power supply (300J) to system. 2) Test procedure/report creation: Firmware design review & simulation, test set up reverse engineering analysis, test procedure/test report creation. 3) Technology assumption and design risk evaluation: Evaluate design risk for customer such as Design Failure Mode and Effective Analysis. 9. Dialyzer control system simulation: 12/2013-01/2014 1) Algorithm Design: Dialyzer flow path during treatment system module simulation. Trapezoidal speed loop control for BLDC motor simulation.
