3. What is cloud computing?
Cloud computing is a type of
Internet-based computing that
provides shared computer processing
resources and data to computers and
other devices on demand.
It is a storage, a processing capacity
are accessed over the internet.
4. History :
Cloud computing is believed to have been
invented by Joseph Carl in the 1960 to
connect people and data from anywhere at
any time.
Amazon Web Services introduced their
cloud storage service in 2006, and has gained
widespread recognition and adoption as the
storage supplier such as Dropbox and
Pinterest etc.
6. Deployment of a cloud computing
Only for one
organisation.
Highly secure
Highest
level of
efficiency.
Combination of
public and private
clouds.
7. Service models of cloud computing
The three building blocks of the cloud
computing are :
1. SAAS
2. PAAS
3. IAAS
These allows to run applications and store data
online.
8. Software as a service (SAAS):
The shelf applications are accessed
over the internet
Example : pixlr, google docs.
Advantages :
1. Free or paid via subscription.
2. Accessible from any computer.
9. Platform as a service(PAAS):
Provides environment and tools for
creating new online applications.
Example : google app engine.
Advantages :
1. Rapid development.
2. It is a private or public deployment.
10. Infrastructure as a service(IAAS):
It provides physical devices (servers)
Example: amazon web services.
Advantages :
1. Very customizable.
2. Easy to migrate than PAAS.
12. Cloud components :
Ex: Mobile (android , iphone)
Ex : google ,maps , alexa
Ex: web apps (facebook)
Ex :Google app engine
Ex: database
Ex: skytap
13. Advantages :
Immediate upgrades put new features
into worker’s hand to make them more
productive.
The costs are much more flexible.
The connection is always on and as
long as workers have an internet
connection.
14. Disadvantages :
Security and privacy in the cloud for
companies
Dependency and risk in vendor lock-in.
Increased vulnerability.
Many IAAS service fall short because
most business applications are difficult
to fit in to it.
15. Conclusion :
Cloud computing is a really cheap way
for companies to have all the
resources they need in once place.
It’s a much better way to spread your
resources, and it becomes easier to
access things from longer distances.
