2. We created our own production and distribution companies to market our teen
film.

Productions company – RSY Productions INC.
As this is an independent company the film can only be released nationally. The
reason we chose to go the independent route when releasing our film is because
this gave us more creative control over our film and we did not feel pressured for
time when having to get the film completed. Using an independent company also
gave us the chance to showcase new, up and coming directors, writers and actors.
3. There are many advantages to our film being made independently, such as…
- The director has more control
- There is no budget
- Free from conglomerate interference
- It could be popular at film festivals
- Not much money is spent on marketing

4. There are also some disadvantages that come with using and independent

- The main characters are not very well known
- There is not much marketing done for the film
- Could not rely on the production company financially
DISADVANTAGES
5. Making our film independent was the best option for me and my group as was
one of our first projects so it would be great to see what sort of feedback we
would get from our own national public and see how they respond to it before
deciding to release our next project and whether we would release it nationally
or globally.
