regional financial institution faced mul-
tiple issues concerning the security
and stability aspects of its operational
systems and applications. The compa-
ny wanted to switch its applications to
a different platform hardware without
disrupting the end user experience. The
customer was therefore looking for a
solution that could address this problem
and also help in enhancing business per-
formance.
The firm reached out to Alpha Data,
one of the biggest system integrators in the UAE de-
livering a breadth of best-of-breed solutions to its

Using Red Hat solution, Alpha Data was able to
overcome the challenges by providing the custom-
er with stability, scalability as well as security in their
system and an easy portability of their applications.
“It took us a month and a half to study the system,
highlight the issues, come up with a design and then
to get it approved. The implementation took about
four to six months and it’s still ongoing,” said Ahmad.
According to the sales manager, the obstacle
the firm faced was during the IT team’s security
clearance.
Ahmad added, “For us, the challenge was noth-

“The main element was to en-
sure we were completing these
procedures at a time without in-
terruption or end-user downtime.
We had to be extremely agile to
make sure nothing went down un-
expectedly or it could have led to a
major escalation.”
Ahmad also highlighted that

irrespective of the customer.

already begun another project

Ahmad explains that the
customer’s main objective
was that end users should not
have any problems accessing
its applications, regardless of
any action such as updating,
boarding or patching, occur-
ring at the back end.
Ahmad concluded, “The cre-
