Responsibilities: IT Security Analyst
In this position it was my responsibility to work with both IT and Business units to ensure that IT infrastructure
was adequately secured. Maintain, revise and implement IT Security Policies, Procedures, Standards and
Guidelines. Develop and deliver IT Security awareness communications and training to all staff. On a monthly
basis (during non-business hours) , as well as adhoc basis, conducted internal security vulnerability assessments
using eEye Retina product and performed project management with IT Teams to ensure remediation was
performed within a specified time frame. I performed research and evaluated technologies and tools to ensure
SOCAN’s security posture; this lead to the implementation of the Palo Alto Next Generation Application Firewall
and VPN architecture. It was also my responsibility to provide advice and support to both IT and Business areas
on IT Security related initiatives, projects, activities, tasks and incidents (additionally I provided advice to staff on
non-business related security subjects to assist them in their personal lives as well, such as Facebook security).

Responsibilities: Security Analyst
In this position it was my responsibility to manage and document the network security infrastructure for CGI’s
client Royal & Sun Alliance using Checkpoint FW-1 and Checkpoint VPN-1 with SecureClient, as well as
coordinating the transition of the client’s security infrastructure to CGI’s Montreal Data Centre ensuring the
environment adheres to audit requirements.
Managed project to document all services offered by CGI’s Security Services, this involved working with each
team member responsible for the service, researching the service, developing a documentation template to
be used by all Service Descriptions and then documenting the service.
Also became secondary support for McAfee, Mimesweeper and Siteminder security applications.
Co-ordinated reporting for all security services areas to be delivered to senior management and clients by a
specific date (bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly). Authored the reporting process and procedure for this item.
