as a platform in which to tell these stories.
In 2006, Lisa Regina founded, A Write to Heal, a writing / performance program for those whose lives have been touched
by domestic violence. WWW.AWRITETOHEAL.ORG WWW.LISAREGINA.COM

of domestic violence.

2. Dear Mrs. Lois Pope,
My name is William S.Farinas, “Willie” (USN BM3 RETIRED ) From Special Boat Team Twenty. I am a 100% Disabled Veteran
and I want to take the time to thank you for your advocacy work on behalf of myself and my fellow Veterans.
We have a friend, filmmaker, Lisa Regina, who has similar aspirations of shedding light on veteran issues, through film.
We’re writing to you in hopes that you will provide your endorsement and support for the film project, The Shooters Nail.
As Veterans, we lend our support and our voices, to help Lisa to raise awareness for Veterans, through the medium of film
and we’re asking for your help too.
‘The Shooters Nail’ is a feature film about Veterans who play wheelchair basketball, mentoring our young teens and
communities to heal as one.
The story offers a chance to shed light on Veterans issues. Especially, those who are living with PTSD and look into their
lives to learn what it’s like to go through the emotional and physical loss of a limb, the challenges surrounding amputation,
as well as, adapting to prosthesis and a different life.
Most importantly, the film offers us Veterans a chance to be part of the film cast and play the strong Veteran-wheelchair
basketball players, in the film. As in the military, the characters in the story, ban together to help save a local community
basketball court and in the midst of helping others, they find healing themselves.
Together, we Veterans, have supported Lisa Regina through her writing process and some of us have been instrumental in
helping her to mold the script to reflect our feelings, our stories and to keep the writing authentic.
We are asking for your support in guiding the film project to the next level. We, the undersigned Veterans support The
Shooters Nail film project and we are taking this moment to encourage you to please support the important message of
this story too.
We are inspired and proud to be part of this film project. As Veterans, we are banned together to help Lisa make this film
and we are asking that you assist us in making this film come to life.
Your support will be recognized in our film credits.
