2. Rihanna, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and many other
female artists have all referenced voyeurism in their
music videos, they do this by using provocative angles
to show off their bodies and they use sexualised close-ups
to build up their brand image and to promote sales
in their singles. It can often be used by female artists
who may not be the best singers so they distract the
audience with their video or if its not a very good song
then they will still get promotion from their video.
3. Kiss established their own iconic star image through
the use of their makeup. The band are instantly
recognised everywhere due to this successful brand
image and their trademark style. Also Lady Gaga has
also created a style of her own that means she is known
worldwide for her crazy and weird fashion sense. Her
music videos are therefore instantly recognisable.
4. Blur with The Universal music video has
references to the film The Clockwork Orange
where it uses the weird and deranged actions
from this film within the music video. This is a
link between the ideas that are conveyed
within the music video rather then a visual
reference
5. In Jessie J’s price tag, the song is about how
you can still get on with life without money
and that it cant buy you happiness and love. At
one point she is standing under a tree that is
growing money. This contradicts the lyrics as
she is saying that they don’t need the money
but they have a money tree.
