This is a newer site (as described later, it launched January 2014), and the Leading Indicators are looking great.
In January 2014, Wiley took over the Society for Hospital Medicine’s Career Center from Boxwood Technologies. In the first five months, the Center surpassed projected metrics, with more than 23,000 job posting views, and 79 new recruiters. The number of new job seekers have doubled year on year and the number of job applications have grown by 61.5%.
The story. We conducted interviews … with leaders from 10 top-rank societies … to explore their interest in career center solutions … as a tool for increasing member engagement … and in the mix with everything else they’re doing … to enhance member engagement. We confirmed that career center services … do increase member engagement … and do produce profit for societies.
We found that all-encompassing career center solutions … are more appealing to larger, sophisticated societies… and … are much more appealing … than traditional job boards. Societies want to provide services to members … and to the full community that they are part of … and resources and access … to this talent pool for members in practice and academia … as well as corporates, industry, and the private sector.
We found that societies are seeking … content for professional development and career skills … that is specific to the fields where they focus … and the communities they serve. the Perfect Career Center Solution … is: Personalized … specialized … facilitates soft-skills development for members … enables networking and mentoring … It is mobile, interconnected and integrated … it is easy to use … And most importantly, it delivers relevant unique content … and relevant jobs.
We learned … that societies want Wiley to deliver … an all-encompassing, integrated career center solution
