Descriptive Essay On Design
We see them everyday, and most of us even own one. We use them to get to work. We use them to drop our children off at school, but have you
ever asked yourself, what did it take for someone to create this thing we call a car. It's not too often when you will hear about the designing process
of a car. It is a lot that goes on in between the first sketch and the test drive, but many people only care about the finished product. "Drawing" cars
for a living may not be such a big deal to some, but according to the websites Indeed and Chron, Automotive designers make a over 80,000 a year on
average (Chron.com, Rick Suttle, "How much are Auto. Designers paid?")(Indeed.com, "What is the average salary for jobs related to 'Auto.
Designers'?"). By looking at the salary, "drawing" cars must be a very big deal. What is an Automotive Designer? Automotive Designers design
everything on the car. Generally, automotive designers draw and make 3D concepts for car manufacturing. The production of the car starts with the
designs. A team of designers start by sketching and modeling concepts that well go into production if chosen by team leaders and company managers.
To make these concepts, designers use everything from pen and paper, AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design program), CNC(Computer Numerical
Control) mill machine, and clay modeling (Youtube, "Car / Automotive Designer Careers explained– General Motors Auto Design Jobs"). The
requirements for starting a career as a designer differ

Graphic Design History
Graphic design is the skill or art of combining pictures and text in the media to convey ideas more effectively to a community of people. The history
of graphic design spans over a vast period of time and has undergone an extensive amount of change throughout the years for it to get to where it is
today. Each piece of technology that has been invented throughout history not only has improved upon daily private and social lives, but they also
impacted the way in which one was able to convey ideas through the use of Graphic Design. Graphic Design has a specific process to it and it does
require some skill in order to be proficient within this area. There are many different occupations that a graphic designer can fulfill. Graphic Design

The main goal of that firm or agency is to take whatever idea that the client wants them to illustrate and to turn it into a combination of words and
pictures so that the general public or the client's targeted audience could better understand this idea. In order for that goal to be achieved, it has to have
clear communication, in other words, every aspect of the image has to be harnessed into supporting the message. What one does in order for the
project to be successful is that they have to take an idea or any information given to them and they have to figure out what colors, forms, style, location
of objects, and location of the words would best be used to portray that particular idea. In Graphic Design there is practically no limit as to what could
be used in the development of an image ranging from actual construction tools, to a conglomeration of other objects such as computers, and handheld
tools like pencils, brushes, and other things of the like. It typically depends on which Graphic Design occupation that someone has to determine the

Essay on Innovation, Design, and Creativity
Innovation, Design, and Creativity

Innovation, Design, and Creativity Innovation, design, and creativity are interdependent terms that conceptualize the meaning of implementation and
the formation of unique thought. Defining innovation, design, and creativity helps to better understand the impact they have upon business
development. Highlighting the business implications of innovation, design, and creativity and comparing and contrasting these terms allows a better
understanding to factors that contribute to a successful business.
Defining Innovation, Design, and Creativity Innovation is the combination of creating and implementing a successful idea (Stamm, 2003). Wherein, one

Innovation, design, and creativity are similar because they all rely on forming an idea. Innovation depends on creating a school of thought and then
using that thought to actively execute the idea. Similarly, design is a creative pursuit and is applied by using decision–making skills to promote the
idea. Likewise, creativity makes use of the ability to formulate thought and synthesize knowledge into viable ideas. According to Tina Broberg and
Peter Krull (2010), supporting creativity and innovation by emphasizing the need for education and knowledge are important approaches for generating
leading companies. In contrast, innovation, design, and creativity are different in many ways. Innovation involves the arrangement of two necessary
factors of creativity and implementation unlike its counterparts that stand alone. Moreover, design is unlike innovation and creativity because if the
importance placed on the decision–making process. Design demands a view that selects a choice based on experimentation and research rather than on
using the so–called norms. Finally, creativity can be formulated without the dependence of others to resolve or form conclusions.
Conclusion
Innovation, design, and creativity steer business development in the right direction. Defining innovation, design, and

Essay about A Career in Graphic Design
Most people grow up dreaming about becoming an actor, singer, or a professional athlete. They want to be famous, for people to know their name,
and they also probably want to make a large amount of money. While getting into one of those professions is slim to none, there is a career that can
offer some of the same exciting opportunities. A graphic designer is an interesting job because it allows creativity and artistry, combines designing with
business and marketing, and gives an opportunity to become well–known in the field. Louise Horton once summed up the job description of the
graphic designer by referring to him or her as the "Architect of the Printed Page" (Horton). Graphic Designers can be credited for the marketing...show

They can work at their own homes or can obtain a space in an art studio (Horton). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has confirmed that this type of
work in the graphic design world has been becoming increasingly popular by stating that in 2010, about thirty percent of all graphic designers were
self–employed (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). As with all jobs, free–lancing does have its advantages as disadvantages. An advantage is that
free–lancers have an opportunity that most other graphic designers do not, and that is to make an incredible amount of money if they create an
extraordinary piece of art. They do not have to share their money with anyone if they make a good sale. (Gordon). Another advantage is that there is
no one telling them what they have to create, no one is holding them back from their possible success. They are in charge of their own reputation, may
it be good or bad (Gordon). A disadvantage is that there can be long stretches of time where business cannot be found, and that can cause some
free–lancers to have to work more than one job (Gordon). Free Lance is very risky and most people prefer a job with a guaranteed, steady, income
than the insecurity of free–lance (Gordon). Whether working on one's own, or involved with a business, it is very important to have the proper
experience before setting out for a job. Art classes would be a good

Essay On Graphic Design
Graphic Design is a form of visual communication where one uses images, shapes, colors, and text to convey ideas and concepts. The field of graphic
design encompasses many different sub–sections including web design and printmaking, however, the field of graphic design is not very heavy on
professional writing. Instead graphic design utilizes images to convey messages and concepts. Throughout this essay I will explore the formatting
styles, genres and uses of writing, and how writing and rhetorical skills are translated into design skills. Formatting styles such as MLA, APA, and
IEEE can be defining aspects of many different professions and careers, however they are not imperative within the field of graphic design. After

The main genres of writing within the field include proposal writing and technical writing. Many articles I have found use specific terms
associated with the field of Graphic Design. For example, the article "Primary Design Elements Found in Outstanding Digital Illustrations," by a
designer called LoungeKat, outlines and explains various elements of design such as negative space, implied texture, and monochromatic uses of
color. Articles such as this one are mainly written to help designers improve their technique and develop a better understanding of how to create
meaningful designs. Within this specific genre of technical writing, designers require an understanding of ethos because their audience need to
feel that they are a credible source in the graphic design field. Specifically, within LoungeKat's article, technical terminology is utilized to develop
that ethos as well as specific examples. However, a majority of the article utilizes simple language rather than advanced language. Many articles
about graphic design maintain that sense of simplicity in their writing as well. I assume this is because the field is not heavy on writing or research
and instead it focuses on art and visual designs so there is no need to use such a formal or advanced way of writing. In addition, credible sources
such as peer journals are very important in many fields of work because they can be trusted to provide reliable information. During the interview I also

Essay On Web Design
Web design
In the current years, designers have tried to shift from simple and minimal styles in their contents. The trend is towards more visual comprehensive
designs that seem to change the contents if many designers. Supported by the devilment for various software's and technologies, there is an expansion
to what is termed as web design. From 2016 some designs have shown to bring an improvement on web design that captures most people to focus on a
particular website.
Improved connection between developers and designers
Designers do as much work as developers of websites. Design in most cases shapes the website and has a bigger influence in shaping the business

Instead of being raster or pixel–based, SVGs are composed of vectors: mathematical descriptions of the object's shape. This means SVGs are
resolution–independent, so they'll look great on any screen, on any device type. No need to worry about making everything retina–ready.
Color segmentation
Designers are now turning into color segmentation of colors to improve the appeal of the website. The combination of bright and bold colors is the
main answer to most of the designers. Gradients also came back in a big way, blending and blurring those exuberant hues into spectra reminiscent of
a noonday sky or a splashy sunset. There's a sort of synthesized naturalism to this reemergence of bright hues and bold gradients, and I look forward
to seeing more of it in 2017. As shadows keep rolling in, designers are using them to make their content more appealing. The use of enlarged color
shadows rather than monochrome equivalents is a good example of color segmentation.
Animation use
Most of the interfaces have been made possible by use of animation. as designers get more and more visual tools to help them build engaging and
smile–sparking animations, we're sure to see them become both more prominent and more refined. It will hold much more benefits if it is easy to
create animations. At 2016's Design & Content Conference, animation guru Val Head advised the web designers to pay attention to the brand tone and

Gogh's Hierarchy
Anything can be art, depending on who is looking at it. There are so many different definitions and types of artwork. There are paintings, sketchings,
pottery, poetry, literature, music, movies, and collections; just to name a few. Some pieces of art are seen as more exquisite and picturesque than
others. These masterpieces are at the stop of the hierarchal "art world." Some examples may include music by Mozart or paintings by Von Gogh. To be
among the top of the hierarchy demonstrates much prestige. Although my art teacher's stained glass paintings are absolutely beautiful, they may only
rank in the middle of the hierarchy. The pieces of art farther down and at the bottom of the hierarchy would include macaroni art done by kindergartners,

In this way, it holds more value to me than it would to anyone else. However, if I had just a single dried flower I would be more likely to just throw
it out. By being part of a collection, the flowers gain additional sentimental value and I would not be as likely to throw the bouquet away. In this way,
collections allow the ordinary to become the extraordinary. Any ordinary item can be seen as a piece of art once included in a collection. Collections
bring delight to not only the collectors themselves, but also to those who get to see them. However, not all collectors show their collections. This may
be because they think that showing others would diminish their passion or fascination with what they collect. This could happen if the collectors receive
negative feedback about their collection. If spectators were to think of the collection as stupid or useless, then the collector may feel discouraged and
collecting may lose its appeal. Feedback from other people is what determines the status of any collection. As Johnson says, "All decentralized systems
rely extensively on feedback, for both growth and self–regulation" (192). Therefore, if spectators see the collection as marvelous, the collector will
earnestly continue collecting and looking for things that are bigger and better. This allows the collection to grow and keep the spectators interested. By
increasing interest in the collection, spectators continue to give positive

Along with it being easy to master, graphic design can also supply a large amount of money. This is because there are so many websites dedicated
to it. As said before, putting designs on numerous websites increases the chances that someone will buy them. Certain websites even have
different prices, which is actually a very good point. Some websites will sell designs for up to $30.00, while some only $5.00 or $10.00 dollars. It is a
statistical fact that most people will buy cheaper designs, while some people still buying expensive ones. Either way, both websites will generate
the same amount of profit. To go along with this, average graphic designers in America today make over $40,000 a year. That is a more than the
average salary of an American today, just for doing barely any work. In some cases, graphic designers can make over $60,000 a year, an outrageous
salary for doing barely any work. Graphic design is a very easy way to earn money, but it is also a great way to save money. Most websites have
services that give a rewards for posting designs. Posting designs can usually make posters and t–shirt designs cheaper and easier to buy. Many websites
similar to Redbubble do this. To along with saving money, making custom designs can do this as well. It would be a waste of money to buy an
expensive poster or t–shirt design, when creating a custom one is so easy. Lastly, learning graphic design gives many numerous and varied privileges.

Most stories are written backwards. The ending comes first, and then you write the backstory leading up to it. However, the audience reads the flipped

Essay On Art Deco
Art Deco also known as style modern, was the most fashionable design movement in modern art beginning in 1925 until the 1940s. This later
developed into a popular style in Europe and America during the 1930s.
Similar to the earlier arts and crafts movement, as well as the design known as Art nouveau, which is based on the curved lines of plants and flowers,
as well as the Bauhaus Design School concept, Art Deco incorporated all types of art including crafts and fine arts. It was practiced with decorative art
such as interior design, furniture, jewellery, textiles, fashion and industrial design, it was also used in architecture, painting, and graphics.
The art deco style reflected modern technology, it was characterized by smooth lines, geometric shapes, streamlined forms and bright colours.
Initially art deco was a luxury style, it was a backlash against the austerity imposed by World War I, it utilized costly materials such as silver, crystal,
ivory, jade and lacquer, later after the Depression it also used cheaper, mass–produced materials like chrome, plastics, and other industrial items

which caused it to quickly fall out of fashion. Art Deco first felt a revival after the long period of little popularity in the 1960's, coincidently with the
movement's effect on Pop Art and then later in the 1980s, with the growing interest in graphic design. Art Deco continued to be a source of inspiration
in areas such as fashion, decorative art and jewellery into the 21st century. The style began to appear in a number of jewellery and fashion

Design thinking is a process for practical, creative resolution of problems or issues that looks for an improved future result. It is the essential ability to
combine empathy, creativity and rationality to meet user needs and drive business success. Unlike analytical thinking, design thinking is a creative
process based around the building up of ideas. There are no judgments early on the design thinking (Simon, 1969, p. 55). Design thinking includes
imagination and reason, a combination of convergent and divergent thought, and creativity. Design thinking might be thought of as dialectic, or
conversation. It involves design wisdom, judgment, and knowledge. Lastly, design thinking is skill (Hegeman, 2008).

Deep understanding of the context of client and user needs is generated through analytical observation or ethnographic research that task seek to
understand the fundamental use and usability needs of the customer or user and the meaning–based needs (Archer, 1984, 64). In the observation phase,
data is collected to elicit the stories that help to understand culture and meaning in variety of forms: field notes, focus groups, interviews, transcripts,
photographs, video and audio tapes, participant or non–participant observation, and formal ethnographic (Beckman & Barry, 2007).
The second stage of design thinking is frameworks the design problem: this phase requires processing and a large amount of information –which is
collected from the observation phase– but at the same time being able to see what is missing for the customers and users information. The ultimate
purpose of the framing phase is to reframe the design problem, to come up with a new story to tell about how the user might solve his or her problem,
or to come up with a new way of seeing problem, to identify interesting dimension, to identifying and formulation the goals, to identifying external and

Design is the Answer What?      Web sites need to be far better designed than anything in the print medium, due to
the very interdisciplinary nature of the web–site. Why? Because a magazine with even minimum design gets its information across to the reader. You
buy it because you care about the issues in its headlines, if you want more you jump inside, 'print' by its nature is a tactile phenonenom; touch, smell
and accessibility, and it is for that reason it will never die. But web–sites are purely visual and aural, one screen at a time. Encouraging the viewer to go

what you want it to do. They do not insult your intelligence, but neither do they obfuscate. They must indicate the wealth of material lying beneath the

Persuasive Essay On Interior Design
Your interior design should reflect your tastes and interests, making your abode an inviting place to retreat at the end of the day. Whether you want
to sip on a glass of iced tea while reading a good book, enjoy your family or host parties, outdated decor can put a damper on your activities. Even if
you were satisfied with your interior design choices when you first moved in, times change.
Not only can the original decor become dated, newer items might clash with it. For example, you might have found a fantastic deal on a painting that
looks gorgeous on your wall. However, if the colors or themes don't match the couch sitting beneath it, you will have diminished the aesthetic quality of
each. Fortunately, you don't have to resign yourself to poor and mismatched decorating choices.
The first choice you need to make is which room or rooms to tackle first. This will depend in part on your budget and the current state of your home.
For most people the common areas of the house are more important while others want to be sure that their bedroom is the most serene room in the
home. You should consult other adult members of the household to determine where to begin.
Whether cash or credit, you need to know how much you can invest in redecorating. Establishing a budget before you begin going through the home
will minimize additional unnecessary expenses. While this project is focused on clearing out unattractive decor, you will need to spend money on the
solutions you have found.

The Design Process Essay examples
The design process Design may be defined as the methodical approach to the solution of a problem. Fundamentally, the purpose of good
engineering design is to create an end product which will not only function efficiently, but will also be a commercial success. Except in the simplest
of cases, the design process is a very complicated procedure requiring the services of a number of highly trained personnel. The main steps in
designing a product may follow the pattern illustrated below. Demand Before anything can be sold there must be someone who is prepared to buy it.
A satisfied customer is one of the best salesmen a firm can have. It is...show more content...
Thus, to increase the potential market, the product should be as adaptable as possible. It is important, therefore, to visualize all the likely
combinations for which a new design may be used. Work on a new design will commence once it has been established that the potential market
justifies the cost of development. Possible solutions After establishing exactly what the new product is to be used for, the design team must not be
satisfied with taking the first solution that comes to mind, and then attempting a number of modifications so that it satisfies most of the requirements.
To do so would restrict their ideas and probably result in a poor design. In practice, a good designer will sketch and, if necessary, lay out as many
different solutions as possible, and then reject all inferior designs. In coming to his decision, he would take into account the following major factors:
(a)Principle of operation and manufacture; (b)Requirements of customer; (c)Outside influences (e.g., competitive products). At this early stage, the
designer would probably make some basic calculations, and, perhaps, also make use of experimental techniques and mock–ups to help verify his

Elements of Design Essay
Elements of Design The elements of design were created by Arthur Wesley Dow to help people see, describe, and create visual qualities in a
systematic way. It consists of 7 elements: line, shape, form, colour, value, texture and space. Lines are paths or marks left by moving points and they

Secondary hues are orange, green, and violet and they are mixed from primary hues. Intermediate colours are mixed from a primary hue and a

chiaroscuro which gives a work drama or excitement. Intensity refers to how bright or dull a colour is and simultaneous contrast refers to the way
you perceive one hue in relation to another. Colour schemes are used to unify artworks and it consists of three common schemes: warm, cool, and
neutral. The warm colour scheme is vivid and energetic and tends to advance in space. It consists of red, orange and yellow. Cool colours give an

Descriptive Essay On Design

  • 1. Descriptive Essay On Design We see them everyday, and most of us even own one. We use them to get to work. We use them to drop our children off at school, but have you ever asked yourself, what did it take for someone to create this thing we call a car. It's not too often when you will hear about the designing process of a car. It is a lot that goes on in between the first sketch and the test drive, but many people only care about the finished product. Essay on Innovation, Design, and Creativity Innovation, Design, and Creativity March 5, 2012 OI/361 Innovation, Design, and Creativity Innovation, design, and creativity are interdependent terms that conceptualize the meaning of implementation and the formation of unique thought. Defining innovation, design, and creativity helps to better understand the impact they have upon business development. Highlighting the business implications of innovation, design, and creativity and comparing and contrasting these terms allows a better understanding to factors that contribute to a successful business. Similarly, design is a creative pursuit and is applied by using decision–making skills to promote the idea. Likewise, creativity makes use of the ability to formulate thought and synthesize knowledge into viable ideas. According to Tina Broberg and Peter Krull (2010), supporting creativity and innovation by emphasizing the need for education and knowledge are important approaches for generating leading companies. In contrast, innovation, design, and creativity are different in many ways. Innovation involves the arrangement of two necessary factors of creativity and implementation unlike its counterparts that stand alone. Moreover, design is unlike innovation and creativity because if the importance placed on the decision–making process. Design demands a view that selects a choice based on experimentation and research rather than on using the so–called norms. They want to be famous, for people to know their name, and they also probably want to make a large amount of money. While getting into one of those professions is slim to none, there is a career that can offer some of the same exciting opportunities. A graphic designer is an interesting job because it allows creativity and artistry, combines designing with business and marketing, and gives an opportunity to become well–known in the field. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has confirmed that this type of work in the graphic design world has been becoming increasingly popular by stating that in 2010, about thirty percent of all graphic designers were self–employed (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). As with all jobs, free–lancing does have its advantages as disadvantages. An advantage is that free–lancers have an opportunity that most other graphic designers do not, and that is to make an incredible amount of money if they create an extraordinary piece of art. They do not have to share their money with anyone if they make a good sale. (Gordon). Another advantage is that there is no one telling them what they have to create, no one is holding them back from their possible success. They are in charge of their own reputation, may it be good or bad (Gordon). A disadvantage is that there can be long stretches of time where business cannot be found, and that can cause some free–lancers to have to work more than one job (Gordon). Free Lance is very risky and most people prefer a job with a guaranteed, steady, income than the insecurity of free–lance (Gordon). Articles such as this one are mainly written to help designers improve their technique and develop a better understanding of how to create meaningful designs. Within this specific genre of technical writing, designers require an understanding of ethos because their audience need to feel that they are a credible source in the graphic design field. Specifically, within LoungeKat's article, technical terminology is utilized to develop that ethos as well as specific examples. However, a majority of the article utilizes simple language rather than advanced language. Many articles about graphic design maintain that sense of simplicity in their writing as well. I assume this is because the field is not heavy on writing or research and instead it focuses on art and visual designs so there is no need to use such a formal or advanced way of writing. In addition, credible sources such as peer journals are very important in many fields of work because they can be trusted to provide reliable information. Color segmentation Designers are now turning into color segmentation of colors to improve the appeal of the website. The combination of bright and bold colors is the main answer to most of the designers. Gradients also came back in a big way, blending and blurring those exuberant hues into spectra reminiscent of a noonday sky or a splashy sunset. There's a sort of synthesized naturalism to this reemergence of bright hues and bold gradients, and I look forward to seeing more of it in 2017. As shadows keep rolling in, designers are using them to make their content more appealing. The use of enlarged color shadows rather than monochrome equivalents is a good example of color segmentation. In this way, collections allow the ordinary to become the extraordinary. Any ordinary item can be seen as a piece of art once included in a collection. Collections bring delight to not only the collectors themselves, but also to those who get to see them. However, not all collectors show their collections. This may be because they think that showing others would diminish their passion or fascination with what they collect. This could happen if the collectors receive negative feedback about their collection. If spectators were to think of the collection as stupid or useless, then the collector may feel discouraged and collecting may lose its appeal. Feedback from other people is what determines the status of any collection. As Johnson says, "All decentralized systems rely extensively on feedback, for both growth and self–regulation" (192). Because a magazine with even minimum design gets its information across to the reader. You buy it because you care about the issues in its headlines, if you want more you jump inside, 'print' by its nature is a tactile phenonenom; touch, smell and accessibility, and it is for that reason it will never die. Whether you want to sip on a glass of iced tea while reading a good book, enjoy your family or host parties, outdated decor can put a damper on your activities. Even if you were satisfied with your interior design choices when you first moved in, times change. Not only can the original decor become dated, newer items might clash with it. For example, you might have found a fantastic deal on a painting that looks gorgeous on your wall. However, if the colors or themes don't match the couch sitting beneath it, you will have diminished the aesthetic quality of each. Fortunately, you don't have to resign yourself to poor and mismatched decorating choices. The first choice you need to make is which room or rooms to tackle first. This will depend in part on your budget and the current state of your home. For most people the common areas of the house are more important while others want to be sure that their bedroom is the most serene room in the home. You should consult other adult members of the household to determine where to begin. Whether cash or credit, you need to know how much you can invest in redecorating. Establishing a budget before you begin going through the home will minimize additional unnecessary expenses. It is important, therefore, to visualize all the likely combinations for which a new design may be used. Work on a new design will commence once it has been established that the potential market justifies the cost of development. Possible solutions After establishing exactly what the new product is to be used for, the design team must not be satisfied with taking the first solution that comes to mind, and then attempting a number of modifications so that it satisfies most of the requirements. To do so would restrict their ideas and probably result in a poor design. In practice, a good designer will sketch and, if necessary, lay out as many different solutions as possible, and then reject all inferior designs. In coming to his decision, he would take into account the following major factors: (a)Principle of operation and manufacture; (b)Requirements of customer; (c)Outside influences (e.g., competitive products). At this early stage, the designer would probably make some basic calculations, and, perhaps, also make use of experimental techniques and mock–ups to help verify his analysis. When comparing designs, those having the simplest working principle should be preferred, provided they satisfy the requirements adequately and do not involve additional problems, such as excessively large parts. It consists of 7 elements: line, shape, form, colour, value, texture and space. Lines are paths or marks left by moving points and they can be outlines or edges of shapes and forms. Lines have qualities which can help communicate ideas and feelings such as straight or curved, thick or thin, dark or light, and continuous or broken. A light value is called a tint and a dark value of a hue is called a shade. Artworks that are dominated by tints are called high key works and artworks that consist of dark values are called low key work. Strong contrast in a value is called chiaroscuro which gives a work drama or excitement. Intensity refers to how bright or dull a colour is and simultaneous contrast refers to the way you perceive one hue in relation to another. Colour schemes are used to unify artworks and it consists of three common schemes: warm, cool, and neutral. The warm colour scheme is vivid and energetic and tends to advance in space.
