Research Paper On Cookies
How do you make the 'best' cookie? My question is interesting because it's talking about what we all eat, cookies. 13.5% of Americans admitted to
eat at least 20 cookies at a time. Real estate agents have used a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies as a trick for decades. Americans have ate 2

Describing the history of the cookie, where it was discovered, the different names in each country, and also how it got its name. The name cookie is
derived from the Dutch word koekje, meaning "small or little cake." Biscuit comes from the Latin word bis coctus, which means, "twice baked. "In
America, a cookie is described as a thin, sweet, usually a small cake. We know as cookies are called biscuits in England and Australia, in Spain
they're galletas. Germans call them keks or Plzchen for Christmas cookies, and in Italy there are several names to identify various forms of cookies
including amaretti and biscotti, and so on According to culinary historians, the first historical record of cookies was their use as test cakes. A small
amount of cake batter was baked to test the oven temperature. The earliest cookie–style cakes are...show more content...
The chocolate chip cookie was an accidental invention in 1930 by Ruth Graves Wakefield, who ran the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. It
happened when Wakefield discovered that she was out of baker's chocolate when she was about to make cookies, so she substituted broken pieces of
NestlГ©'s semi–sweet chocolate, expecting it to melt and absorb into the dough to create chocolate cookies. It became extremely popular that the
recipe was featured on newspaper and radio. This author concludes that chocolate chip cookies were a big deal back then, when they first came out they

Innocent Fun Research Paper
Innocent fun or Dangerous Possibilities Do you remember the first time you had a drink? When you sneaked behind your parents back to feel the
rush of trying something that's not allowed. Knowing that you are doing something wrong and could become caught makes everything more
interesting. We have all been there, knowing you're doing something wrong, but that's what gets you even more tempted. When I was in ninth
grade I was tempted to try alcohol. The problem was I did not know how to get it. This made me even more tempted to get it. How could everyone
else in my class be able to get it when I could not? In the middle of ninth grade, three new students started in my parallel class. Rumors around the
school started spreading as always when there are new students. In this case the rumors were saying they drank alcohol and smoked. A couple of
weeks later one of my best friends started dating one of the new students. All of us saw a way into the grown up world. Finally, for the first time, try
the magic drink that all of our parents told us not to drink, that magic drink which makes everything a little bit more fun. We saw a way into...show

This is where the temptation comes in. As Publius Cornelius Tacitus, a Roman historian, once said "things forbidden have a secret charm". Things
forbidden such as drinking alcohol before you turn 18 is made to be broken. Things forbidden is made to teach us what is right and what is wrong.
We learn from our mistakes. We learn from what we have done right. We learn something new every day. In my case I have learned a lot from
alcohol since I took my first sip of beer. I have learned that vodka is not the answer to a great night, it is the answer to a great hangover. I have
learned that I do not get what I want if I hit my brother. It will probably get worse than it was before. I have learned to have innocent

Shark Crash Research Paper
Our attitude toward Sharks has changed over the decades, but not as much as it needs to. Shark attacks still rattle people to the core. The recent spate
of them in North Carolina, involving eight victims over 24 days, was particularly disturbing because there were so many of them, in such shallow
water, in a short time. Then there was the widely covered episode in July in South Africa, when champion surfer Mick Fanning fended off aShark that
seemed determined to on bite him. Throw in the 40th anniversary this summer of the release of "Jaws" and the release of Syfy's "Sharknado 3," and
it's easy to see why some people might collapse into a fetal position at the mere mention of "Shark."But people seem to be realizing, if slowly, that

Introduction:
The chosen research topic for this study is an exploration into some issues teachers face in their profession. This research project will be a pilot study.
Pilot studies are essential to larger research projects as they can identify any problems that may arise when conducting larger scale project (Hussan et
al,. 2006). I have chosen this research question because I aspire to become a teacher after graduating therefore curious about what the job entails. In July
2016 the Times Educational Supplement (Ward, 2016) reported recruitment and retention is deteriorating. This captured my attention because I was
under the impression teaching was a popular and well–respected profession. The article insinuates the deterioration in...show more content...
These readings give us a deeper level of understanding as to why teachers are struggling with the profession and also provide examples to the NUT's
workload reform (Blower, 2014). The reform presents shocking and concerning statistics within the profession. Within the reform it is stated 96.5% of
teachers from the survey feel the workload is having a negative impact on their family and personal life. A further 87% revealed they knew at least
one teacher who had left due to the amount of work. As a result of these findings I am curious to investigate how workload impacts my participant.
Inspections:
Following on from workload, teachers are under pressure due to rigorous inspections by external companies. These external companies were introduced
with the intention of improving state funded schools (Rosenthal, 2003). In the UK John Major introduced the Office for Standards in Education
(Ofsted) to carry out these inspections (Berry, 2016). The main aim of Ofsted is to improve schools through inspections (Rosenthal, 2003). This is done
by exploring school conditions, self–evaluations (Jansees et al, 2008), and obtaining pupil perceptions whilst inspecting the pupil's work (Ofsted,
2015). However, this external scrutiny is leaving teachers with anxiety and stress (Hall and Noyes, 2009). These types of emotions could hinder a

Essay on Wildfires
A wildfire is any instance of uncontrolled burning in grasslands, brush, or woodlands. Wildfires destroy property and valuable natural resources, and
may threaten the lives of people and animals. Wildfires can occur at any time of the year, but usually occur during hot, dry weather. Wildfires are
usually signaled by dense smoke which may fill the air for miles around. The National Weather Service, U.S. Forest Service, and State forestry
agencies combine to give wildfire probability forecasts. Local radio and television stations broadcast information and warnings on local fire conditions.
Wildfires pose an increasing threat to the residential United States. In 1987, 53,000 fires consumed more than two million acres. By October 1988,
almost...show more content...
On the actual day of the fire, the fire planners will again check such conditions as wind and moisture content in the vegetation. The wind direction
will determine where the fire is started. Fire crews start the burn with a device called a drip torch. A drip torch is a can of fuel with a flame–carrying
wick at the end. When the crewmember tilts the wick toward the ground, a flame streams out and ignites the vegetation. Most of the effort that goes
into a prescribed fire is making sure that it is contained in the boundaries set for the fire. Firefighters and fire suppression equipment are near the site if
the fire grows out of control (www.nps.gov/wica/fir–why.html, pgs. 1–3).
While not all the effects of prescribed burns are known some are very evident. The first of these common effects is that vegetation and fallen dead
material are burned creating an open forest floor. This eliminates any fuel that could contribute to a high intensity fire in the future. When the fire burns
the organic material in the forest, nutrient rich ash is left behind. When the first rain comes, the nutrients in the ash dissolve into the soil for the new
plants to use. This process is called nutrient recycling. These nutrients left in the soil are a good source of food for the young plants that will begin to
grow back. Another outcome of prescribed fire is that new growth begins immediately after the fires have been extinguished. Within

Reflection : What I Have Learned In The Class
Introduction
What I have learned in this class? It is my first question that I have asked myself. It is my first experience to have a blended class just like FYS
001 at West Coast University. I have never taken the blended course, so I have learned a few interested things with the blended class. First at all, I
have a chance to meet my professor and my classmates in person on the first day of the class. It is an advantage to know whom I am talking to
when I go to the class discussion board. Therefore, I have a feeling just like taking on ground class. The different option is that the class only meets
twice per term. I like the course over all. There are many topics which have been discussed on class discussion board and a lot of related learning
reading assignments. Here, I will briefly go over a few new materials which I have learned so far from the course.
What topics in this course do affect you the most? To answer the question, I am interested in making decision topic. As an individual has to make
decisions daily, the person needs to make a better decision among different options. Making decision can be done by followed some factors and basic
process. First, the individual must identify the problem to analyze the cause. Next, the person needs to search for the reliable information and looks for
the alternative ways. Then, the individual will make the decision and evaluation the outcome (Fred C, 2010). There are many factors which have been
involved in the process.

The reform presents shocking and concerning statistics within the profession. Within the reform it is stated 96.5% of teachers from the survey feel the workload is having a negative impact on their family and personal life. A further 87% revealed they knew at least one teacher who had left due to the amount of work. As a result of these findings I am curious to investigate how workload impacts my participant. Inspections: Following on from workload, teachers are under pressure due to rigorous inspections by external companies. These external companies were introduced with the intention of improving state funded schools (Rosenthal, 2003). In the UK John Major introduced the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) to carry out these inspections (Berry, 2016). The main aim of Ofsted is to improve schools through inspections (Rosenthal, 2003). This is done by exploring school conditions, self–evaluations (Jansees et al, 2008), and obtaining pupil perceptions whilst inspecting the pupil's work (Ofsted, 2015). However, this external scrutiny is leaving teachers with anxiety and stress (Hall and Noyes, 2009). These types of emotions could hinder a teacher's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Essay on Wildfires A wildfire is any instance of uncontrolled burning in grasslands, brush, or woodlands. Wildfires destroy property and valuable natural resources, and may threaten the lives of people and animals. Wildfires can occur at any time of the year, but usually occur during hot, dry weather. Wildfires are usually signaled by dense smoke which may fill the air for miles around. The National Weather Service, U.S. Forest Service, and State forestry agencies combine to give wildfire probability forecasts. Local radio and television stations broadcast information and warnings on local fire conditions. Wildfires pose an increasing threat to the residential United States. In 1987, 53,000 fires consumed more than two million acres. By October 1988, almost...show more content... On the actual day of the fire, the fire planners will again check such conditions as wind and moisture content in the vegetation. The wind direction will determine where the fire is started. Fire crews start the burn with a device called a drip torch. A drip torch is a can of fuel with a flame–carrying wick at the end. When the crewmember tilts the wick toward the ground, a flame streams out and ignites the vegetation. Most of the effort that goes into a prescribed fire is making sure that it is contained in the boundaries set for the fire. Firefighters and fire suppression equipment are near the site if the fire grows out of control (www.nps.gov/wica/fir–why.html, pgs. 1–3). While not all the effects of prescribed burns are known some are very evident. The first of these common effects is that vegetation and fallen dead material are burned creating an open forest floor. This eliminates any fuel that could contribute to a high intensity fire in the future. When the fire burns the organic material in the forest, nutrient rich ash is left behind. When the first rain comes, the nutrients in the ash dissolve into the soil for the new plants to use. This process is called nutrient recycling. These nutrients left in the soil are a good source of food for the young plants that will begin to grow back. Another outcome of prescribed fire is that new growth begins immediately after the fires have been extinguished. Within Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Reflection : What I Have Learned In The Class Introduction What I have learned in this class? It is my first question that I have asked myself. It is my first experience to have a blended class just like FYS 001 at West Coast University. I have never taken the blended course, so I have learned a few interested things with the blended class. First at all, I have a chance to meet my professor and my classmates in person on the first day of the class. It is an advantage to know whom I am talking to when I go to the class discussion board. Therefore, I have a feeling just like taking on ground class. The different option is that the class only meets twice per term. I like the course over all. There are many topics which have been discussed on class discussion board and a lot of related learning reading assignments. Here, I will briefly go over a few new materials which I have learned so far from the course. What topics in this course do affect you the most? To answer the question, I am interested in making decision topic. As an individual has to make decisions daily, the person needs to make a better decision among different options. Making decision can be done by followed some factors and basic process. First, the individual must identify the problem to analyze the cause. Next, the person needs to search for the reliable information and looks for the alternative ways. Then, the individual will make the decision and evaluation the outcome (Fred C, 2010). There are many factors which have been involved in the process. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
