Topic Two: The Body and Soul In St. Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologica Question 76 Article 1, Aquinas discusses the union of the soul with the
body. Throughout this paper, I will examine what Aquinas means by the term soul and why he thinks that the soul must be thought as the form of the
man. There is much debate between philosophers on how the body and soul exist amongst each other. Aquinas believes that the soul is in the body,
however it is not contained by it but rather containing it. To elaborate on this, Aquinas believes that the soul is not a substance in a living human
because it is not a complete thing. In other words, the soul is matter. Therefore, in a living human, the soul must exist in the body. This means that the
soul is the form of the body because of its ability to actualize energy of the body. The soul is subsistent to the body, yet they have independent
existences. Aquinas states that the soul is the first principle of the life. He believes the soul is the difference between animate and inanimate objects.
The body cannot exist without the soul because the soul allows the body to fulfill itself. To better understand this, we should discuss how actuality and

Stress can get bad enough to where it starts to affect your body system. Things like depression, heart attacks, diseases, rashes and a low immune system
can all occur to people dealing with stress bad enough. The number of common signs and symptoms is outrageous and is depressing to see that
there are so many people dealing with this and how it's such a common thing in this world. On stress.org, they talk about the different body
systems and how they're affected. The nervous, musculoskeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrine, gastro and reproductive systems are all
affected in some way and in many ways to say the least. If your stress ever gets so bad, I consider seeing a doctor or specialist seeing how

Your Body Language Shape Who You Are Summary
Throughout life there is always a point when we are not very sure about ourselves, it can be during a presentation or just life in general when we feel
that we do not belong. During these instances, we do not know what it is that we need to do in order to change the way in which we need to change
ourselves. In Amy Cuddy's presentation, "Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are," she presents the idea about how our body language affects our
actions. She proves her point by showing evidence, some of which include sight and blindness, providing conclusions from experiments, and presenting

She mentions "Running an experiment in which people high–power posed or low power posed and after two minutes 86% of the people who high
power posed were willing to take risks, compared to 60% of the low power posers"(00:10:19) by high power posing she refers to opening up our
arms, back straight, or poses which make us feel full of power and authority. This means that high power posing can cause the brain to make one feel
more positive and trustworthy of oneself which causes one to take more risks, therefore this allows one to be able to do anything they put their mind
to. Which happens because while power posing, one feels powerful which causes a change of attitude in a positive way, which changes our actions.
While the lower power posers are not willing to take as many risks because they do not feel sure of themselves, so they become more conservative

Our human body is a very complicated system. It consists of a number of organsand systems that work in coordination with each other continuously and
tirelessly without us even realising it. One of the most sensitive organs in our body, which is the organ that I have chosen to research on for this
summative, the human skin. Even though the skin is only afew millimeters thick, it is the largest organ in the body. It consists of three layers: the
epidermis, the dermis, and the hypodermis. The epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin, providing a waterproof barrier and creating our skin tone.
The dermis is the middle layer and a subconscious tissue that is made up of fats,and connective tissues. The hypodermis, the deepest layer of the three,
is made up of fats and connective tissues.
The skin belongs to the Integumentary system. The Integumentary system consists of skin, hair, nails, and exocrine glands.
Some of functions of the skin are:
1. Protection– The skin protects us from microbes and the elements such as toxins and infections.
2. Body Temperature– Helps balance the body temperature.
3. Sensation– Permits sensation of touch, heat and cold.

Google body positivity. Your screen will be flooded with pictures of women of many colors, sizes, and ages. Scroll through these pictures, and you will
notice that males are hugely under–represented within the context this trend. Body positivity in modern mainstream culture often focuses on the
sexualization of women and glosses over the negative message to which men are exposed. This cultural desire to be muscular, "shredded," and
"ripped" has led to a rise in body dysmorphia in men, which can have severe consequences on the development and growth of boys both mentally
and physically. The media often encourages all body shapes in women, however, larger men are objects of comedy, and frail men are epitomes of a
"nerd" or "geek". Just like women, many men struggle with body dysmorphia, but do not speak of it because societal norms encourage them to
suppress their feelings.

Society and Eating Disorders by Colleen Thompson and Eating Disorders by Katherine Fox both discuss the issue of eating disorders due to the way
society and the media put the ideal image into a female's mind. Both of these articles mainly use the social appeal to make their readers aware of this
issue. The last two articles, Perfection – The Barbie Body?! written by Julie Hong and Expectations of a Fashion Model authored by Popular Culture,
discuss the female's body as an object. These two articles also use social appeal to help the reader better understand how females grow up idealizing
an unrealistic body. All six of these articles were all very informative and well written, even though they all used different techniques to get their point
across. All of the authors used pathos as their main appeal, but they used it in different forms.
The most important rhetorical technique is ethos, which only two of the different articles used. The reason ethos is so important is because it tells
